Nice shave, regarding the 2011 R41, I contacted Muhle directly a few years back to see if they had any of the 2011 versions lying around that they’d be willing to sell me, and I asked them about the difference in aggression, they said that the aggression is the same but the 2011 head didn’t clamp the blade as much as the 2013 version and onwards does, this supposedly then have more blade feel and subsequently blade chatter, so even though the razor felt more aggressive it reportedly wasn’t any more efficient like people may think
I quite agree with you Paul, we have more choices now than ever before : new/modern, vintage, half/single blade, shavette - to speak nothing of the pre/post and soap choices. What a fun hobby. Have a great week and see you for the Sunday shave.
Another wonderful display thanks Mrs.H. 👏Our shaving Hobby has more choices now than in Vintage shaving times when shaving was more of a task than a Hobby. It's a great time to be a Wet shaver hobbyist. MWF is a great traditional soap with a mild clean scent, like you said it can be fussy with water quality though, my water quality is soft so I've never had any issue making wonderful rich lather from MWF. Take care Paul.👍🤠
Lovely flowers by Mrs H. Delicate colors. Personally I don't find (this version) of the R41 too aggressive. I think with proper technique and the right angle, it's smooth and doesn't have much blade feel. I love Mitchell's. One of my favorite soaps. If there wasn't any other soap available, I would be fine shaving with it for the rest of my life.
Great shave paul, to be honest I love the R41 if I had to pick a one and only razor I would probably pick the R41. Hopefully get around to my shave today at some point. Take it easy for the rest of the week Atb Paul
Nice shave. Keep up the great work. With regards to kids in the same house as any types of razors, I used to store them all away when not in use under lock and key, blades, blade disposal banks included.
Morning Paul. Nice shave today. Even the best of have weepers now and then. I got a couple when I used a newly acquired REX Ambassador. I tried it on 6. Ouch. Take care and be safe.
Hallo Paul, Fantastic Video. The Mühle R 41 is my Favorit for my Shave. My Reazors Blade is the Mühle Blade or the festgeredet. Have a nice Day Paul. 👍😎🎸💈💈
Nicely done Paul💈💈 Always expect some clashing of color when using the R41, on purpose or accidental... Those beautiful flowers in the background by Mrs H are going to show claret in the foreground most elegantly, thanks to her. Mitchell's is legend. SOTD: Hub City Soap Company "WTX" soap/splash, Timeless "Bronze" razor w/Personna Red blade, RazoRock "Hive" brush, alum, witch hazel and AV 5in1 balm to end....Glorious. Great video and results today, thanks. Enjoy!
When I use my R41 on a few days' growth, it always tugs a little bit under the nose and on the chin, whereas my Karve razor doesn't pull at all. I just wondered if you found the same. Thanks, John.
Great midweek shave Paul 💈 The wool fat is a real old fashioned style soap to me. Love it. Beautiful display Mrs H 💐 Have a great rest of the week both 💈💐💈
Nice Wednesday shave with a razor I'll never use 😉 You also used one of my favorite brushes. It holds the lather and is easy to maneuver. A close result and like you always say, you can't get any closer than blood. My compliments to the flower girl. Take care. Cheers until H&S time!
Was it my imagination, or did the lather appear to be dissipating a bit toward the end of each pass? I noticed it the most toward the end of the first pass.
I like my R41 with the Rose gold handle. It gives an excellent shave. Imo I don't agree that using bloom water should be called a preshave. I think a preshave is a different product to aid lubrication and protection. As usual the flowers are nice. Take care all.
Nice shave Paul. Had the "cheat cut" with my Variant today early this morning. Right at the chin and I would humbly like to believe it was a cheat cut ;)
Good Midweek Shave, Paul!! 👍👍 I'm not trying to offend--trust me... I'm surprised at one thing that you do from time to time.... You grab for the stypic pencil 1st to cover cuts/weepers... Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Wouldn't it be more effective to use an alum block to totally stop those cuts/ weepers?? For me, (I know shaving products are of solely personal preference) I have been taught that an alum block is more effective to stop and heal cuts, creepers and weepers. I've also been taught that its a good antiseptic/healer for pimple problems too. Am I wrong about Stypic pencils and their use?? Maybe, I need a refresher about Stypic / Alum Block use.... What are your thoughts.... Thanks, Todd
I find it is better not to rinse my face prior to proceeding with the 2nd and 3rd pass. It seems to keep the Shaving Cream from being watered down. JMO
Hello Paul great Mid week shave 🪒. I've been looking at the R41 but haven't pulled the trigger on getting it. I'm not sure if I will like the aggressiveness of that razor. I'm a huge fan of the old shaving soaps and their nostalgic scents 😁. Take care
I bought one (GS) to start shaving my head with. It's been great. Never used a DE before, not sure what the big fuss is about with aggression of the R41. I've nothing to compare it to, but equally I never cut myself and it's been awesome. I used a feather blade or blue personna blade in it.
Good morning Paul. Always watching your videos with pleasure 😉 Question : how come i never cut or nick myself with R41 or other agressive razor but with milder razors sometimes do?? I heard you some time ago telling the same thing 😄😄 Isn't it strange? Have a great rest of week. 🪒💪
"I won't be at work today!" "Why not?" "I did a three-pass shave and pick-up time, with the R41!" "Sacked!"😁

Had the original R41, got rid of it in favor of the newer (2013) version....no room for error with the older model.
Nice Paul/I mean Mrs H. Great display. Not enough Red but R41 provided the missing red 👍👍.Thnx for all you do.
I had one puck that didnt lather. Replaced it, and It lathers as good as any soap.
Great video!!!! DE shaving is a great hobby, thanks for introducing me. I also like Mitchell's Wool Fat; it is my every third or fourth shave.👍
Wow gorgeous flowers display by Mrs. H. great shave fun video. Stay safe, cheers....Peter

I was the opposite today Paul with my feather asd2. I will give my R41 a dust off at the weekend. 👍

Hi Paul, greetings from Texas! I use the Mitchell's Wool Fat soap; it's OK for me. I just have about 20 other soaps that I like better.
When I use my R41 on a few days' growth, it always tugs a little bit under the nose and on the chin, whereas my Karve razor doesn't pull at all. I just wondered if you found the same.

Good shave Paul, you know you had a shave with the R41 great razor take care and have a great week 😀👍
Very relaxing shave

Had to quit watching true crime and politics, and switched over to your channel for a nice respite. Have a great week.
Me too, I get sick of politics and have been watching more positive relaxing videos

Pull the trigger! You can always step down to a milder blade than what you would use in a more standard aggression razor.
I bought one (GS) to start shaving my head with. It's been great. Never used a DE before, not sure what the big fuss is about with aggression of the R41. I've nothing to compare it to, but equally I never cut myself and it's been awesome. I used a feather blade or blue personna blade in it.
I have to say the more aggressive the blade, the better for the R41. Right angle always and DON'T press.
