I believe they will have a very good D23 this year , but it will never meet everybody’s expectations. All I want is for them to actually announce things they are building/going to build , I don’t want anymore blue sky ideas !

Honestly, a refurbishment to Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion to relocate the Hatbox Ghost to the attic would be enough.

Agreed! The candelabra will be returned (it takes a long time to properly tarnish a candelabra, and a lotta elbow grease as well, I might add. I should know, I've tarnished more than my share!)
But the Hatbox Ghost, most assuredly doesn't belong in the hallway! For a couple'a plethora or three of reasons! Whereas it's 'presence' at the far end of the attic, as the icing on the cake, so to speak, is THE appropriate use of such an iconic and masterful "wienie"!

I have a secret soft spot for Dinoland. I always did like the wacky coaster and the dark ride. The dark ride actually reminded me of Disney's ver of ET ride.
Disney would need to announce a full refurbish of Tomorrowland. The return of the people mover, the relocating of the rocket ride away from the entrance of the land, an escalator entrance to space mountain, removal of all instances of Toy Story IP (which makes zero sense in tomorrow land) and generally a realignment with Tomorrowland’s original purpose and vision.
I'm not cutting my hair until they do something about Disneyland's Tomorrowland. This mess is on their conscience.
I mean buzz lightyear makes sense in tomorrowland, however makes less sense now that calif adv is pixar central. And even less sense since they have toy story mania. Its unnecessary now and should be replaced. Its dated and sucks anyway

@@OffhandDisney If you think about it, tomorrow land has been through a lot of changes. Not layout wise, but so many rides came and went in there. It would make me really happy if they did more stuff with innovations/imagineering in tomorrowland like they did in the 90s. I feel like its such a big part of Disney and their history. Esp with the passing of the torch going on rn.

joes return and Ben’s appointment as head of imagineering are great steps in the right direction, as for when we can see these projects come to fruition I do expect it to take a few years then again stuff took Years even during Walt’s day and many projects changed from conception during his day to a lot of people forget that

i went to disneyland once as like a 5-year-old kid and haven't actually been back as an adult. the biggest reason is money obviously but the second biggest is because my favorite ride was the peoplemovers! i cried in the tiki room, i cried on the jungle cruise, i cried when we even got close to it's a small world, but after we got off the peoplemovers i asked if we could go on it again AND WE DID AND I LOVED IT AND NOW IT'S GONE!

Finally gonna be at D23 for the first time! So excited to be overwhelmed and underwhelmed simultaneously… As for the parks panel, just give us the Peoplemover announcement. Please. I realize we’ll probably get everything except that, but fixing what’s not working in the parks feels like it should take precedence over new things right now.

The California people mover being announced would make it the best D23

This year’s D23 is going to be just as disappointing as previous years. Why? Because they don’t stick to what they say. It’s just a bunch of buzz words, hype, and empty promises that lead people along into thinking that Disney is pushing the envelope when all they’re doing is pushing your wallets. *Epic* *Universe* however, has the possibility to stick to Universal’s promises in creating the best theme park that we’ve ever seen. And it’s coming out NEXT YEAR! Right now, Disney fans just need to face that Disney is in a Dark Age right now and that includes the parks. The only way they’re going to do anything is if the fans stop going and stop giving them their money. And if there’s any diehard Disney fans reading this right now, I’m talking to you. Take a step back for two seconds to really look at what Disney is doing to manipulate you and your nostalgic childhood. Then look at the plans for Epic Universe. Be honest with yourself and genuinely look at which park cares more about their fans right now.
Well said! And yeah I find it hard to get excited for anything Disney has announced because a lot of the time they don’t even build it or severely budget cut it. Avengers campus was my first big let down especially when Disney was touting web slingers as some fancy advanced technology ride, but when I rode it I quickly found out it was just a cheap lamé version of Lego lands ninjago ride/midway mania without the cannons.
All you do is flail your arms at the screen or buy a wrist attachment to earn more points. And the Dr strange magic show was so bad it felt like it had a budget of $5 and a pack of peanuts. Then they put the avengers e ticket on hold, kept promising it wasn’t cancelled, then cancelled it. So much disappointment, and this isn’t even counting the other stuff Disney has promised us and either cancelled it or under delivered.
Some other notable disappointments are the constant cheap lazy re themes like Pixar pier and San fransokoyo, and last years d23 when we got nothing announced for us at Disneyland aside from “hey here’s how the avengers e ticket ride vehicle might look when and if we build it in 10 years!”
I'm hoping the new CEO in 2027 (If Bob Iger is telling the truth that he will leave then) will fix things

I feel like it will never be just a Peoplemover announcement, they will at some point do an entire new Tomorrowland update. If they have no problem shutting down HM and TBA at the same time, there should be no issue basically shutting down all of Tomorrowland and starting from the ground up.
I feel that the peoplemover will just never return to Disneyland. They'd have to tear down the old track and build from scratch.

Past history tells us Disney waits until Universal large projects debut before investing billions into the park.
We should have low expectations from Disney for 2024 and expect blockbuster announcements next year

Exactly! They can announce the most incredible plans ever this year but the odds of them *actually* doing it is practically none. I’m waiting to see if Universal is going to stick to what they’re saying about Epic Universe. That’s more exciting and promising than anything Disney is doing right now.
I hope they do. Disney world is gonna have to do a lot better if they're gonna wanna compete with epic universe.

No it won't. Disney is instead going to be broken up under antitrust so that means bye bye Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, etc.

I really really hope D23 knocks it out of the park for this year. I definitely believe we'll get updates for the Avengers Multiverse Attraction, Test Track 3.0, maybe improvements for Galaxy's Edge (mostly in FL), hopefully having a Guardians meet and greet outside of Cosmic Rewind, Spaceship Earth revamp and maybe some Tomorrowland updates.
Also coming back to Epcot, I finally saw World Celebration earlier this month and I really enjoyed. The atmosphere felt very real especially at night. I think Disney did go on this and maybe when Communicore Hall opens it'll bring back some life into the main hub of the park.

GE at Disneyland has had Fennec Shand there a lot and Boba Fett from time to time. We've even encountered Ahsoka a couple of times. They are great! If WDW's GE hasn't had them, well, they certainly should!
They shouldn't be announcing meet and greets at D23. Too low level and reflects the cynicism that they embody now
@@michaelsullivan3581 They really shouldn't. Boba Fett is an evil bounty hunter that shouldn't be looked up to. If not evil then at least morally flawed. Putting him in the parks is arguably one of the chief reasons he wasn't able to do anything in his awful show

They will bring D23 here to Brazil in September, around the same time there will also be the brazilian ExpoCannabis in São Paulo. I'm heading there in September to attend to both events and I'd love to return to my city with an annoucement of a Brazil related addition either to Epcot or the new Animal Kingdom south american area

I think there's an announcement hiding in plain sight. They may have already been working on this, but weren't confident enough to announce it with the retheme of DinoLand. An Emperor's New Groove attraction/portion of the park in the new land. Peruvian llama pen maybe?

The problem is, even if they announce something tangible, they won't follow through. Examples: Epcot and Avengers Campus E ticket. Disney will budget cut it until it dies. That being said, I believe there will be one big announcement. The rest will be small and/or existing projects already in the works.
I would love them to announce a retheme of Imagination. We are seeing a lot of Dream Finder in recent artwork. Is that foreshadowing of things to come? And didn't they release a clip of Figment walking into Imagineering? It all adds up. I remember the original ride and it was amazing!
Same! The ride we've had sucks! If they wanted to tie it to a specific IP (not that they should mind you!) they could retheme it to inside out and have Bing Bong host it along with figment and Dreamfinder!
@@kdusel1991 I know I already replied to another of these comments but of ALL the IP rethemes, Inside Out is honestly not a bad pick. The only worry I have is that the ride is supposed to be about how imagination can help the world, but Inside Out is more about how they affect US

I’m hoping that they have thought out how they are going to get everyone to the Honda Center, feed them, and figure out where they are going to store all their stuff. You know how it takes them a day to train everyone and figure things out. Maybe we will skip the first night. 🤷🏻♀️

At least guardians and Tron are good rides. It would've been worse it Cheapek had his hands all over them. That Mary Poppins ride/expansion that was gonna be for Epcot looked so bland and uninteresting.

I have a feeling that one of the biggest announcements is going to be a new “Journey into Imagination “. That’s enough for me… I do wish they would do the people mover at Disneyland for sure or even bring it up

I've felt similarly about this year being a bit better than the previous showing. I'm not sure HOW much better it'll be (for some reason I have a feeling 2026 will be the big one for me) but I think we'll see some great announcements, especially with all of the personnel shifts at WDI.

It's criminal how bad their online ticketing for events is. I thankfully was able to get the 3 day pass on day 2 (but not with Honda Center 😭) but between the ticketing ordeal, knowing that folks that ARE going to HC will have to take bags back to hotel/cars first before getting on the shuttles (which I expect to be a sh*tshow) since they can't take 99% off bags into HC... I'm ok watching the live streams on my phone from the parks XD

As much as I hate to say it - I think all of the news is directly because of what’s going on with the Proxy Fight - I truly hope they cook up more announcements for D23, but I’m not banking on it unfortunately. They may have ran the well dry in an effort to show how strong the company is, at the cost of announcements this August. :/

I was at D23 2022. And my family and I had a horrible experience. We went for the parks panel, couldnt get into and had to watch it in the main room where the expo was. Found out they were streaming it online, and on top of it they didnt announce a single thing noteworthy. It’s sad the announcement of Porto’s being built got the biggest response. PORTOS. We are never going again, we really felt like we wasted our money.
I’m hoping a Peoplemover return is announced soon. If it isn’t, I fear you’ll look like cousin ITT before there’s change in Tomorrowland. Thanks for the video!
They need to get rid of genie+. I know it won’t happen, but I just had to pay $39 per person per day on my recent trip just so I could ride more rides, due to long lines. It’s insane. Maybe they could bring back some more included benefits for on property guests.
Exactly not to mention while fast pass sometimes would affect the standby lines, it never did it nearly as much and as bad as Genie plus/lightning lane does. Cast members have even said the ratio the higher ups have them use is like 10+ lightning lane/genie plus guests to 1-2 standby guests. So that’s why a line says 15 mins but ends up being an hour.
It’s so annoying and in the past I used to be able to get on a ton of rides, now I am only able to get on a handful if I’m lucky. Of course this works in Disneys favor because they want non passholders to either buy more days/another ticket in order to get on all the rides they missed

Destination D started at the Disneyland Hotel and has been at the Contemporary since 2014.

Dallin I feel like your hair is going to be bottom rib-length before any major Tomorrowland announcements are made, and I’m all here for it.
You might want to style it up in the meantime though… manbun is a low maintenance way to stall until you can do some cool stuff with shoulder+ length hair.
I’m hype for D23. Excited to meet new Lorcana players, seeing everything in the convention hall and all the panels, and the Honda center events. But I’m bummed at how much this event has exploded in popularity now.
I'm hoping we get some decent announcements for Disneyland Paris, like the rumored Lion King land. Just a shame that it's the middle of the night for us in Europe, so either staying up late to watch the live stream or watching in the morning 😃
I hope that they bring back the Peoplemover and redo Journey Into Imagination the way it was.
Hopefully with Haunted Mansion and Tiana's being completed in the near future that will make it more possible for updated Tomorrowland, Peoplemover, and electric/hybrid Autopia.
Edit: I was super disappointed by last D23. I wanted news on the Treehouse at least. But the good news is they did a great job with the Treehouse afterall and I'm super happy with the theme they chose. So hopefully there is good news at this D23. Maybe even Tomorrowland and surrounding area news.
There will be no Tiana. Disney is lying. Splash Mountain is open and will be so for WDW's 75th and Disneyland's centennial.

Well, Europeans have two hopes for Disneyland Paris this year on either the DLP media event in April and/or D23:
- Announcement for The Lion King land at Walt Disney Studios, which needs to be announced if they want to start construction soon without any questions.
- The Star Wars land beyond the berm of Disneyland Park's Discoveryland.
But it'll probably be two new pieces of concept art and a smartphone cover again.

The people mover must come back, i really miss riding that as a kid, getting the overhead view of tomorrowland and riding through the adventures through innerspace then star tours, the magic eye theatre and Tron. I also miss america sings, as that was a dang good show to sit through, i wish they would do something like that again with the rotating building again, Especially since they are swapping out splash mountain, those animatronics would be available again.
I very want to go to D23 Expo this summer. But sadly, the tickets are sold out quickly. When the event comeback in Anaheim next year?

D23 is happening on and around my birthday. One day I'll go to one ❤
The only thing that would make D 23 a success would be information on the people move returning to Disneyland. I agree with you that the kinetic energy in tomorrowland has suffered since they got rid of the people move, which I remember riding as a teenager. The entire vibe of tomorrowland Has been taken out simply because they got rid of the people mover and put the Astro orbiter on the ground at the front of the land which makes no sense. Part of the attraction of tomorrowland was going up in the elevator being at the highest point, you can be in the park without riding the skyway and seeing Over all of Tomorrowland! But the people mover wasn’t original idea that should stay with the parts as long as they have been created.
The fact that can create brands or both coast open up a new theme park in a foreign land sink millions of dollars into movies that aren’t successful and projects that are just not good and that you can actually rework California adventure from its original concept to what it is now. Yet you can’t fix the people move track that has been in that park Since the 60s is a travesty.
D3 will be a series of disappointing pie in the sky rhetoric ideas. The only thing I would make it a success is bring back to peoplemover!
For a handful of years a while back I sort of gave Disney the benefit of the doubt that the reason the panels weren’t crazy over the top exciting was because this wasn’t really meant to be a “con” in the sense that it was mainly for investors, DEEP fans (like deeper than RUclipsrs), industry people, etc.
But as they’ve opened it more and more to the normies (as much as any Disney Adult is a normie) to the point I think it’s becoming a straight up DisneyCon, they gotta cut the blue sky theorizing stuff. That stuff can genuinely be fun for those fans going in knowing it’s just a discussion of “what about this, sound cool?” But they’re building more of it being their own version of E3 or ComicCon trailer drops and the announcements have to be big concrete plans. Not theories and stuff that’s first up on the list to get the axe if the balance sheets look a little grim.
It's a small world is my favorite attraction and I love the MCU so I'm actually jealous that TDL is getting this temporary overlay, and I wouldn't mind seeing it in the US parks.

The other major factor at play right now is the imminent opening of Epic Universe and Universal's monthly drops of park news that sets the theme park world aflutter. Disney HAS to announce something soon, otherwise they're going to look like they're languishing behind in the theme park race, which is totally unacceptable for the brand. It almost feels like they were holding news back at the last D23 events in order to announce stuff this summer and next summer, stealing some of the spotlight from Universal. (That's what I'd do if I were them!!)
My hope is for a Tomorrowland revamp at Disneyland, they need it really badly
I hadn't heard about the TestTrack revamp. That is good news for me. I was underwhelmed with the replacement for World of Motion. I felt like it was a neat concept for a ride that really didn't know what it wanted to be when it grew up... so it became a lame attempt at an E ticket. Never understood the long lines for that one, but that apparently is just me (based on the two hour wait times). Rode it three times total over several visits and now happily walk past the queue with no regret or remorse in my heart. (Gotta get to Norway so we can jump in the line for Maelstrom... wait, what?)
Man... I hope you get your People Mover back. I have similar remorse for Snow White and Mr Toad, so next time you ride those in Anaheim, send out a thought, nay, a prayer, for the sad Wolfking family in Florida... sigh.
This video made me sad but great video lol. I was 3000 in the queue and got in first 20 minutes just to have all the tickets grayed out. By the time I got in on another device most things I wanted were sold out. Super bummed and really not loving Disney the last 2 years in general lol

The lowest was over $200. I just got the 3-day tickets.
They never mentioned that seats costs extra.
