    I absolutely loved Rivers of Light 😢 it really surprises me that it wasn't popular.
    As for DisneyQuest... I have no words. I can't even imagine the conversation that took place about getting rid of such an amazing and inventive attraction and replacing it with something so niche.

    I miss the health pavilion most. I think it is a beautiful building with potential. To me, a great idea would be to bring back the Mickey and friends,in their spacesuits,dance show that was popular in the 1980s and 90s in the odyssey building. The building can fit a lot of people, especially in bad weather. That would be maybe a temporary area to have periodic shows throughout the day, till imagineers establish an attraction. Or permanent/ long term if the show is successful with positive feedback. That show would be perfect for not a high budget, and work to go into it. One of the best things, I think, would be, that it would bring nostalgia to the guests who were lucky to experience the Mickey and friends show in the odyssey building. The main goal of this show/attraction would be similar a similar concept to Disney Junior dance party in Hollywood studios, where little ones can get their energy out. Or maybe just revamp it and put in a quick service restaurant where you can have a quick meal and a show like originally in the odyssey building.
    Generally, that pavilion is good real estate that should not be wasted.

    “I don’t know why. Indiana jones has a huge following.” Oh I know. Likely the bar was made in preparation for the slam dunk they thought they might get with the latest Indiana jones movie but when it’s reception proved more icy then expected and it didn’t rake in the numbers they wanted they likely pulled the plug especially since it’s possible they were hoping for more movies and this to be a notable draw.

      @@orlandoparksguy Ultimately I just think that’s why the bar closed. Disney I think was banking on it being a hit but as with many things in 2023 they mishandled it. Especially on marketing. For whatever reason I didn’t see a whole ton of ads for Disney movies when in the past I used to get them and they used to be interesting but when I did see ads like for wish they didn’t do a great job of appealing to me. I also thought that if I wanted to watch the movie later I could just watch it on Disney plus and I suspect that was a significant part of why it flopped like it did because many thought well I’ll just watch it at home on Disney plus

    Even though I live nearby, and use to be an annual pass holder year after year, I have not gone to the parks since 2016 or 2017 so I had no idea that several of our families fav shops had closed and it makes me sad. IMO when I go to a theme park or mall and see many places sitting closed/abandoned, I know there's something wrong. It shows that mall or theme park is hurting for customers, and Disney did it to themselves by their greed. There are not enough rich people visiting the parks year round to keep them thriving.

    • @orlandoparksguy
      @orlandoparksguy  12 дней назад

      Well said. Disney definitely has fewer guests in the parks and is charging them more. This strategy has been working, especially with international travelers. 2018 -2019 saw lower prices overall, but attendance was through the roof. The biggest complaint was that the parks were much too crowded.

    Disney is too busy purveying to LGBTQ..... and the stock holders while missing the whole point of family entertainment at a reasonable cost. Walt Disney would be ashamed.
