Maangchi, your cooking videos are useful and very entertaining. Today I have made your Kimchi recipe out of your book- but the german version (only 3 garlic instead of 20 and no onions). Thank you and greetings from Germany !
Good morning! It's nice Saturday morning here in New York City! Thank you so much for your nice comments and messages here. How can I not love you guys! ; ) Anyway I just finished English and Korean captions. (한국어자막 올렸어요!) If you need it, check it out, please. Making captions takes a long time for me just like making bone broth! lol!
Hi Good morning @Maangchi, I am doing this now. Can I also store the broth in the fridge not in the freezer? How long it will last? Thanks. Hope you will notice this. Happy Holidays!!
In France butchers usually throw them so I get them for free to make broth, which makes your recipe free food here. Thank you for the video it was really tasty
My first encounter with bone broth was tteok-guk. I was getting out of school sick at the time and I asked my dad for soup before going home, so we stopped by a local Korean restaurant. The lady there told me that their tteok-guk had broth made of beef bones, "it's full of nutrients and you'll feel better!" It was a nasty infection of some kind so I did get a little worse. But her soup was simple yet comforting with the chewy tteok, and I never forgot her words. Since then I've always wanted to try a legit bone broth soup again. I must admit though, Maangchi's broth looks richer and thicker. I can imagine the healing power coming from that soup 😋😋
Same here, my husband was on his third week of an illness when my sister's husband brought him Korean beef bone broth. He felt better right after he had the broth ❤
I love it when you include ways of storing these broths and dumplings long-term. It's so helpful to be able to have the more complicated and time-consuming recipes at the ready. For disabled folks waiting for a good day to tackle a long-process recipe, we can make a big batch at once and store it up. Thank you so much, Maangchi!
Oh! I love this comment! As a disabled stay at home mom, being able to have something for those harder days is so important! Thank you for putting into words!
One of my favorite channels. Kindness, efficiency, technique, humor. A reference. Every time I just regret not having access to all the korean products I discover with Maangchi.
I just made this the other week using one of your books! It was divine! It's amazing to me how when I'm not feeling well Korean food seems to help me out - from the probiotic kimchi you taught me how to make to this soothing broth. Thank you, Maangchi. Your food has helped me so much more than you could ever know.
Maangchi, most of the time I don't make your recipes, I just watch and listen to you because you're both so knowledgeable and so comforting. Thank you for giving us all your recipes and for being you
Nice video to get people interested in making natural broths. Normally people will just discard bones the exact same way they throw away the shells from all the shellfish instead of using it and making something out of it. Keep up the good videos👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have had this soup many times when I was in South Korea. It is delicious and one of my absolute favourites, and now I even know how to make it myself. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
“A lady washing bones, Scary”. 😂😂😂 I love that you have comedy with your recipes. I made a bone broth and I used the broth and fat to mix with a little meat to make soup dumplings. Turned out really delicious. My friend is a chef, and she taught me.
I really love watching these types of videos, they're so educational! One thing I noticed about Korean cuisine is that they really use everything with such little waste while still making it look and taste amazing. It's really cool! Normally, I would've just thrown the bones away and not thought twice about it.
I watched this videos earlier this year and finally started my calorie deficit diet. Currently my 2nd batch of the bone broth is in the freezer, i love having it with rice and Kimchi 💕. Thank you so much ma for the wonderful recipe. 감사합니다 ❤
I am a 12 year old girl and believe me i made this soup at home and it was tasty everything in the family liked it soooooo much that u for teaching the best hope to see u soon one day
No I know why my beef bone broth was always with my the dark bits in it and tasted awful. Now I'll cook my other bones, not before soaking them in water for 8 hrs to get a beautiful white and light broth. Thank you Maangchi! ❤️❤️ you are one very special, very special person who is loved by so many. You know since you posted this video, I've watched it 3 times and I don't think it will be the end of it as I need to refer to this video to get perfection (I hope like yours)
Ahh..so this is how they make this milky bone broth that I love so much at Korean restaurants . I am definitely going to try this out. Thank you so much!
I've made several of your recipes with great success. I've tried making bone broth in the past, and it was horrible. You've inspired me to give it another try. Thank you!
Thank you, I've been wanting to learn how to make bone broth properly, my little boy has seizures and I know this will put back the nutrients he loses. ❤
Hello , I hope your boy keep getting better soon. I wanted to suggest a product called Bio Green Cell and a very famous singer Olga Tañon promotes it because her daughter Gabriela have had seizures since she was a baby, real bad ones ,, so bad that she had like 30 a day those caused brain damage, she is 25 but with the mind of a five year old. The product has been the only thing that stopped the seizures completely. I don’t know why I am writing this , I don’t sell it or promote it , I only came to this channel to learn how to make bone broth and Out of nowhere I saw your comment. I also was going to add that when I showed my family this video they insist that when she boils the bones for 20 minutes and throws away the water then she is throwing away the nutrients? I don’t know what to think. God Bless you and your family.
Handy tip - 4:39 - don't relax too much - and fall asleep like I did and wake up to the house smelling of burnt bones and smoke everywhere.... The broth had been boiling dry for hours and it took me weeks to get the smell out of my curtains, couch, towels, everything......... Loved this video though, and I love this channel :D I shall try bone broth again (using this recipe too this time!), when I'm feeling more awake hahahah
We also have it in the Philippines. We call it NILAGANG BULALO. The beef bones are boiled for so long until the bone marrows are all out and melted with the very hot boiling water. Your style of cooking is much longer and stricter. Back home they don't clean it as much as you did. I know how ours taste, super yummy, but I want to taste yours too, I am so curious how yours tastes. Keep it up, I enjoy watching your videos.
Filipino here. Bulalo is for real😊 Ms. Maangchi's video is inspiring. I was diagnosed with bone disease 20 years ago and recently with diverticulitis. In constant need to go on liquid diet...😢
When, I visited Korea a long time ago our tour guide brought us to a restaurant where their specialty is this soup. This is the first dish I ate there.
one of charms this bone broth has is you only need some bones to make it and nothing else. and its taste, oh man, it's heaven. your 3days of dedication on this will be worthy.
Thank you, Maangchi. This was so good! My pot was a bit smaller, so I ended up with three quarts of a more concentrated broth, but I can thin it out with water just fine. I love this as a simple broth, just with salt, pepper, and green onion. We also served it with rice and kimchi.
Finally the correct way to make Korean bone broth! All the other videos I've seen, the broth is brown. Thank you for this, I am definitely going to try your recipe 😁
Hi hi hi!! 👋 so good to see you make this soup!! Just perfect for this winter. You look so beautiful today!! 😍 my grandma used to cook this for me all the time, aww!! Thanks for sharing brought back my childhood memories. Stay safe and blessed always 💕
Oh, Maangchi, I wish I had watched this video earlier, as I made bone broth today, but didn't know I had to soak the bones in cold water to get rid of the blood... I hope it's not an unhealthy broth, now that it has blood inside. Thank you so much for this video, I will most definitely follow your instructions next time!
I made bone broth the Western way and the broth is not white colour. The way you made it reminds me the way our domestic made in my younger days. Did not know it involves so much work. Just love your recipes.

I made it turned out very well it was good making this Sagol-Gukmul at home when my bestie was coming to my house she loved it. I loved it a lot. Thank you for sharing such a amazing recipe with us ❤️❤️❤️.
Dear Maangchi, we also have such broth in Azerbaijan. I did the same like you, the first boil it and then wash the meat and pot. Then we boil it overnight, but we add garlic and vinegar to the broth before we eat. Please just try with garlic and vinegar, I believe you will like it. Thank you so much for your positive energy and showing us so delicious Korean food receipts. Love from Azerbaijan!
Guys I just watched the video she posted in the past about the bone broth where she made spicy and nom spicy one and here we are especially with all the bone broth diet saga going on
Maangchi.. im getting married to a korean man. I want to serve him by cooking korean food. You make cooking easy and exciting but delicious at the same time.
In Korea, mother starts making this broth, it means mother doesn’t want to make any side dishes or mother goes some where for a long time. Haha. But it need a long time to cook. I miss my mother and miss this broth. You can eat this broth for a week or 2 week up to how much you make !
Maangchi, your cooking videos are useful and very entertaining. Today I have made your Kimchi recipe out of your book- but the german version (only 3 garlic instead of 20 and no onions). Thank you and greetings from Germany !

사골은 한끼만먹어도 그하루는 든든하죠ㅎ
I made bone broth the Western way and the broth is not white colour.
The way you made it reminds me the way our domestic made in my younger days. Did not know it involves so much work.
Just love your recipes.
Thank you so much. I have tried this in Seoul about 7 years ago. I love it. So I know how to cook for my baby now.
I tried a soup of this kind once, before I flew back from Incheon to Thailand, and it was very delicious.
Hey Maangchi! Thanks for always sharing different kinds of cooking recipes, it's really nice to learn them and enjoy the recipes you share :) It helps me throughout my student years that I am able to make quick recipes! I hope you can share more about non-spicy recipes too..I have a lower tolerance for spiciness. One of my favourite recipes you posted is the beef bulgogi, which I have been making consistently for 2 months now, it's really delicious! Thank you so much
I made this when the temperature drops in korea. One of my kids fave to eat in breakfast with rice and kimchi during winter.
Great idea!
I've never had it but it does look soooooooo good! Getting cold here and can see this is something to try during the winter. Love this channel from NH!
I was literally thinking about making this recently!! Amazing timing, looks so good 😋
We make beef bone broth too and the recipe is quite simple. We mostly or traditionally make it during winter ❄️ it is so good.
hi maangchi wow it is better for cold time.and also good for the bone. thank you for sharing.
🍍🌴🌺❤Aloha from Hawaii! I am always reminded of my Halmoni and my Mama when I watch your videos. You brings great memories back to me, thank you so much! 🌸🌸🌸
Definitely worth it! Perfect for cold rainy days.
Maangchi, you brightened my day today. Thank you for all your recipes and videos.
I always make your beef radish soup during the winter. I'll try this recipe this year!
Maangchi chef!!!
This easy to make recipe (if you have the patience to be near the pan when it's boiling) looks amazing

Fantastic recipe, the bone broth soup in Korea is amazing! I love it with beef tongue. Thanks, Maangchi for sharing.
Hi Maangchi! You’re my favourite chef!

Good beef bone soup cooking recipes I will try to cook this soup for sometime 👍😊
In Korea, mother starts making this broth, it means mother doesn’t want to make any side dishes or mother goes some where for a long time. Haha. But it need a long time to cook. I miss my mother and miss this broth. You can eat this broth for a week or 2 week up to how much you make !
