This might be one of the most underrated Weezer tracks out there

its a banger. although I only like a few songs the black album has a lot more to like than most people give it credit for

I don't judge a Weezer song until about the 10th time listening to it.
Listened to the whole album about 30 times now. I'd call it a masterpiece album. Very rope a dope!
I judged this song on the first listen. 80's new wave with jangly guitars and a strong, solid beat. It's Weezer, but with definite New Wave influence, jangly guitars, and genuine crunch. I judged this track one of my favorite Weezer tracks on first listen, and I still feel that way.
That’s me for a lot of songs because I don’t wanna judge somebody’s hard work on the first listen

Originally I was a little dissapointed, because I WANTED that dark grungy album I expected, but I still can't get the bops from the Black Album like this out of my head.
I love the storyline from the white album to the black. As white progresses the songs go from very happy and fun to songs talking about heavier stuff. Meanwhile the black album goes from heavier songs back to happy ones by the end. It’s also worth noting that white ends with Endless Bummer saying “I just want this summer to end” while black ends with California Snow saying “California snow never let me go” like the protagonist is now content with where he is in life

Super great story-song ! With a beautiful 80’s flare chorus - and then a second surprise double-chorus ! Plus he says “he’s Irish”; with the U2-Edge-riffing backing sonic, thus revealing the lyrical Trojan Horse ! It’s a HIT !!!!
Listening to this, I’m struck with the realization that I’ve been listening to this band for the last two and a half decades, and though they don’t sound like they used to, they sound like they should now. It’s nice having a band that grows up with you.
Same but I completely disagree w feeling like they have grown up w me. I think, if anything, Rivers is more emotionally detached than ever and writing completely inane pop songs instead of actually talking about what we are really going through at this point in time.

@@rileypikachu4742 Because music has evolved, and in order to stay relevant they also have to evolve. If we're being honest rock is sadly dying, so in order to stop themselves from dying with it they gotta change it up.
@Ribgy look rock has died I’m not stupid but the thing is there most popular music is the blue album. And Weezer has been getting popular on there older stuff. I want to bring rock back to life, but you can’t if they keep making shitty albums like this one

Been hooked on this song for the last week above all other songs on the album. Not sure what it is. I think it’s the perfect mix between their old and newer sound. All I can say as a long time =w= fan since ‘94 and have seen them about 35 times in concert, I’m just so happy they haven’t slowed down and are still rocking in full swing. I just miss the way their shows used to be, opening up with Jonas, closing with SWA with people bodysurfing everywhere. Yeah I’m much older now and in my 40’s but =w= shows are the only shows where I still act like a kid and go insane. It’s never left me. But we need crazier crowds that don’t just stand there. I can’t take that.
