My Dad loved Weezer and went to a lot of their concerts and I am only 12 and he passed away from a heart attack on January 8th 2020 at the age of 42 and I am using his account right now if anyone from Weezer reads this I want you to know my dad loved your music and one of his favorite shirts to wear was a red, yellow and white Weezer shirt and this song really sparked joy for me for the first time in a few months so thank you for spreading joy to millions of people each day also 4 days before my Dad passed away my grandpa (his dad) passed away and not even a month after all of that we got Put in quarantine you inspired my dad to start playing guitar and also partly inspired me to start playing piano not only that but classic rock piano and I love it so thank you for giving my dad and myself inspiration to start playing instruments 🎹🎫🎸🎸🎹🎹🙏🙏Thanks for all the support and I hope that they will see my comment and know that their band just made me happy every time I listen to a song of theirs. My dad would’ve loved this song because his dad was his hero and he died 4 days before my dad did so I’m trying to convince myself that he died happy. I’m actually his daughter but thanks for all the support anyways. My Mom lost the love of her life.

What I love about Rivers as a songwriter is that he never tries to impress anybody - he expresses himself sincerely and genuinely through his music, without pretense, and the result is always delightful

@@PassiveNights Yeah, it's called the "cut-up" method and it was/is used by David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, David Byrne, and Thom Yorke, among others. It's easy to make anything you don't understand sound bad by describing it in a reductive, dismissive way. Why don't you try writing a song that way and see if you can get results halfway as good as this, since it's apparently such a no-brainer?
It's also worth pointing out that Rivers doesn't only use that method, it's just one tool he uses to varying degrees. This song we're commenting on clearly can't have been written entirely that way, because the lyrics connect to each other in a relatively straightforward way.

Found myself singing to this while driving to work some 2000 miles away and almost 30 years later.

I remember that by the time this video came out I was broken up with, so when I watched this I was really sensitive and for some reason this song touched me. And when the letter was shown in the end I legit broke down crying, coming back now I can definitely certify that this song is great and beautiful by it's own merits

Waking up and thinking about going to work usually has been a chore for me, and although I haven't been working for long, nor have I been working any really important job. It's been busy. Fast food isn't really the thing that helps a lot of people, but watching this gives me a new thought process behind work. At least I can do something minor or not to help out people who are tired from doing their part, or who are tired of staying home and helping keep people safe.

Heard this on the radio few days back. Im a 2020 college grad and twitter artist that recently broke over 2k. This song reminds me of what my goal online is. Inspire people through my art and animations, thank my online buddies who are essential workers and encourage them, and help the people that follow me who caught the virus be happy and have a person to talk to. I may not be an essential worker but it's the least I can do to help in some way.

So far, this album is solid AF. I think going "metal" allows rivers to tap into the rock fantasy, without fear of criticism. Which is awesome. This sounds like the blue album to me. And that is the highest praise I can give an album.

After becoming unemployed, I got lucky yesterday and I found a job. I start this Friday. To be honest I'm dead scared of getting the virus and getting sick, and potentially bringing it home to my family. I feel a lot better after hearing this song.
