  • A short tutorial about fit and adjustments on the Nidecker Supermatic bindings.
    No need for wax, or lube or anything to fiddle around with the moving parts. It all comes down to the toe/boot fitment

    I had the same issue, but then after some research and tweaking of the straps, everything is solid.

    Hopefully nidecker sees this. Really like the idea, sad to see it not work as well with every boot. Great findings!

    Is it possible to try swapping the toe strap? Maybe see if you buy a toe strap from another nidecker binding if you can't get the Lobster toe strap mounted?

    My button boot doesn’t fit, and the constant contact between the book and the binding just scrap away the surface material.

      Sorry to hear that. I had a feeling it would do the same to my K2 boots as well over time. If you would like to keep the bindings, now's a great time to get a great deal on a pair of boots that fit into the Supermatics. At least you understand what to do after what I experienced instead of blindly commenting that I got the wrong size boot, when in reality these people lucked out with a pair of boots with the correct snub toe shape

    Kinda surprised they don’t make a supermatic with the flow fusion strap

      Or make them interchangeable.

    does the material of the toe part they use contribute to the stiffness of the bindings? I see like Union having similar shape/material of the bindings like this.

    • @srirachili
      @srirachili  4 месяца назад

      I wouldn't say they add any stiffness. The bindings themselves are like a medium stiff binding with a pretty low highback. They feel great on boards that I can shred with, not so good with more playful boards.

    Well it looks like you just bought your binding too small. I have Vans Aura size 10 or 10,5 (eur 42,5), and supermatics L, and they fit perfectly. My board is a Bataleon Thunder 156, and it goes also well with the supermatics size L. The supermatics are super good, a real game changer.

      Sorry, but you're misinformed. Please take a look at the size range for the bindings, I am at the limit for size medium. I'm not on the biggest settings either. I also tried a large in store and the toe ramp was further out than my boots. These fit all my boards ranging from 147 to 152, with appropriate space at heel and toe as you can see from the video on a 149 cm K2 Passport
      I never said these were a bad binding. Your boots also fit the profile of the the bindings like my Vans Sequals do (snub nose toebox). Please watch the entirety of the video.

    I agree. You seem to have the wrong size bindings. I was on my nideckers all weekend. Never had an issue. I’m a size 11. And use an xl. Thirty two brand boot.

      @@srirachiliI found a few guys in the mountains this year but none of them had XL spermatic bindings. So I couldn’t test them. I’m size 11.5 vans.

      @@jeremyhayes1242 you def need that XL. I've seen a lot of barely used pairs go up on secondary market, probably from ppl that couldn't get their boot to fit like the examples in my video. Maybe you can scoop up a second hand pair for cheap!

    Jesus man! Surely you can adjust the angle of the front ladders so the toe strap can sit more forward?! I have carbon fuse flows and they use the same strap. Never had any issues as you have 2 anchor positions which allow different angles for the front strap, are you tell us that you don’t have this on the supermatics?

    • @srirachili
      @srirachili  4 месяца назад +1

      You are correct, these do not and a 2-position push pin setup like your Flow bindings would solve a lot of fitment issues. I still think that a change of strap material along with the 2-position change would be complementary for a lot of toe box shapes

    • @THEH0FF69
      @THEH0FF69 4 месяца назад +2

      @@srirachili no way! Thats crazy. I am going to buy for next season but this could be an issue. Maybe you should look into the larger size so they fit your bigger boots

    • @srirachili
      @srirachili  4 месяца назад +2

      @@THEH0FF69 the size up would be too big for my boot size. Also, I'm not maxed out on the strap settings so it's not a sizing issue, it's a shape issue. I ride the Supermatics with the Vans boots in the video and they work perfectly. I just wish I knew what I covered in the video prior to buying the bindings. The shop had told me that the straps would mold to the boot (K2 Enders) shape after a few sessions on the hills

    This is why I still believe CLEW is the only system that really works with any boots. And maybe GNU Freedom/Psych.

    • @neil_b4_zod
      @neil_b4_zod Месяц назад

      Clew has zero dampening in its binding. Seems like a huge oversight.
