Being an empath is not easy, you feel everything. Happiness, sadness, anger, pain, loneliness, tiredness, isolation. You can be worn out easily by interactions with people. Being an empath you can help others in need. Empaths don't judge, they look at life differently then others. Stay strong empaths.

I may have had her as a nurse! I’m not sure. I had lots of surgeries on my legs when I was little at St. Louis children’s hospital (she may be too young to have been this nurse) but I had a nurse that would stay back with me and cry with me when I was in unbearable pain. She was really beautiful, like this nurse. I’ll never forget her.

I am an empath and also experience mirror-touch synesthesia. I try to avoid large groups of people and I am unable to watch or listen to violence of any kind without having a strong, visceral feeling that can be overwhelming. On the other hand, I use the "gifts" I have been given to work as a social worker and administrator at a personal care home. My being hyper-attuned to others allows me to relate to my overworked, stressed staff as well and provide a loving presence to the elders who come to our home as their last.

My mother was a nurse and was told that she was to empathetic and cared to much for her patients to be a nurse. There was a little boy abandoned in the hospital by his mother, he had a cleft palette, webb feet and a dozen other problems, he was 6 and looked as if he was 3 and he couldn't talk but my mother was so affectionate to this little boy he used to smile and wiggle in his bed every time he saw her. She used to buy him toys, clothes and took him home for Christmas day so he wouldn't be left by his own over the holidays. No one would even look at him and other nurses used to ask my mother why she would even bother with him. When she started work into another ward she tried to find out what happened to him but the head nurse wouldn't tell her were the boy was. Still to this day we have his photos and she talkes about him.

The minute i’m by myself it’s instant tranquility. Unfortunately that can have an affect on relationships with people.
But I love that my mind has always been open and accepting of the spiritual aspect of life. There’s so much more than what we can see or understand. The energy that we are created with is the same energy creating this universe. We are one. Start taking notice of your vibrational-energies

I am immediately their best friend and can correspond to their emotional level at that moment. Over the years it has slowly taken a toll on my body (called empath sickness) and i have liver (toxic processor) and immune issues. I do consider it my calling in life to help others in their time of pain, physical or mental. The anguish is so real.

Stay strong and do your best to be kind to your body so you can help as many as possible without having to overburden yourself. :)

We are in the advanced theatre group at our school, and later that day we were getting the callback list later in the next class. I was terrified and asked to go to the bathroom and in there I had a panic attack. She could sense something was wrong, and when I came back she asked why I had had a panic attack. When I feel people's emotions, it's like they are my own. My ex husband finally asked me one day "When do you get to be you?" Because when I feel these emotions, I almost "become" them. I believe my mother was like this. It's very draining and so I tend to stay away from larger groups of people.

I totally agree we all have it but many have been tainted with so much toxicity like first poison flouride in water which calcifies the pineal gland aka third eye which associated with our higher senses&supernatural gifts. also vaccines with aluminum, murcery dna cells from monkeys&so other junk that alters our DNA the list goes on like chemtrails, chemical spraying on foods&toxic man made processed junk foods&drinks, sadly all this dumbing down to many who don't really know&just eat up all what's pushed on us to be okay&normalize it are like zombies unawaken because there truly unaware&don't want to believe what's being encouraged for us to consume is really all that bad but that's when science, statistics &studies has to come in &show what's really going on with proof of this agenda21 movement to a sick sad world smh which is barbaric speaking of barbaric there's been studies with prison inmates who all improved their mental health behavior all in taking out meat which says alot especially if studies show the same in students at school that eliminates high bad behaviors.

Last week we went to the ER and the people in the room next to us cried out a very painful wail like they were losing someone that instant and I about bursted into tears. My bf has to talk to me so I couldn’t hear it but I couldn’t stop feeling drawn to their pain.

I can’t look at anyone remotely in pain or uncomfortable. My dad almost sliced off his finger with slapping door and the moment i saw his finger, my finger hurts from the same spot. Ofc you feel their sadness and pain as an empath, but when you visually see the injury you feel a drop in your stomach and then you physically feel the actual pain. It’s another level. It’s not only emotions you sense like other situations in everyday life, but feel it physically shoot through your own body. If you have ever felt it, you know it’s different.

I’ve always been convinced I could tell how they feel and even what they think sometimes, but never has it affected my own body or emotions. I’ve trained and re-trained many horses that were dangerous and unpredictable to other people, and been able to touch wildlife including birds since I was a child. Like you said you can take their pain away sometimes, l feel I can do that with fear and especially anger, but they have to make eye contact for it.

ever since I was a kid I knew there was something a little bit different about me but could never put it into words. I hated being around people who were ill, I hated passing ambulances or going into a building where there were paramedics, I would see someone cry on TV and cry I would almost mimic what I was seeing, subconsciously. It wasn't until about a year and a half ago that I heard the word Empath and it was described to me. I started doing research & everything finally made sense. All of the puzzle pieces were coming together. Hearing that word for the first time changed my life. Everything I felt as a child that I couldn't explain or put into words, i now understood. I started understanding why I felt certain ways about certain people or in certain places, etc. I was told that it is a blessing and a curse. Currently I feel like it is more of a curse than a blessing. I feel other people's emotions as my own and sometimes don't even realize it. It is very overwhelming. I'm still learning how to use this "power" without it negatively affecting me. I can mentally understand how it is a blessing but have yet had the chance to really experience the full benefits of it.
These two people are 100% empaths, just with other extreme abilities alongside it.

Oh my goodness. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has this. It has been a part of my life since the early '90's. I had prayed that God would help me to have empathy for others. I'll tell you what. He answers prayer. Not only has He put in me the feeling of physical pain as a gut-wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach, but He also gave me the ability to feel the same emotions that others are going through. If someone loses a loved on, I feel absolute loss and heartache. If someone is thrilled because they learned they finally conceived a baby after years of infertility, I feel the same overwhelming and absolute joy. I wanted to be a nurse very badly, but this extra "sense" that God has put in me would make it impossible for me to not break down. As hard as it can sometimes be, I am so very thankful for this thing He has put in me called mirror-touch synesthesia. I had no idea there was an actual name for it.

I just happened to stumble across this video and I think this is something I may have. I didn’t realize this was considered a “condition”. I thought everyone experienced these kind of sensations but some people just knew how to better control the reaction mentally. I have to research all movies before I watch them to see if I can handle the gore/ violence. I’m mildly obsessive compulsive so i don’t just experience it at the moment i see it. I continually revisualize the images in my brain and feel the pain/ sensation all over again.

It's funny to me how they put medical terminology on God's gifts

But said with respect instead of disdain, so we can all clap now.

Synesthesia is an actual condition and has many types like people see numbers as colors and can see concepts like time projected around them or can even taste sounds. Please read about it.

This is awesome. I do that, too, and I always wondered why I did that.
