    Jordan played to win. He wanted to block the big guys. He wanted to deny you the ball. He moved without the ball. He tried to give the crowd a special moment every game. He took all the blame, and credited his team for success. He didn't play for numbers, those came as a result of his passion for smashing the challenge. There's no flopping in his repertoire. And like B.J. was saying, no plays off. We never had to call Michael Jordan the G.O.A.T. , being called Jordan was already the highest ranking possible.

      Exactly. I love how he gives LeBron James all t eh due props and respect that he has and doesn't belittle him in any way, but acknowledges that Jordan was just _that_ much better. There is no shame in that. I also love how he brought up the fact that LeBron is a better shooter, but Jordan was a better scorer. LeBron can shoot the 3 better than Jordan could and has about a .1 over Mike in career field goal percentage. However Michael was much better at getting to the foul-line, and making free throws. Even when his jump shot wasn't falling, he still found ways to get his 30 a night.

After he retired she hasn't watched or wanted to watch a game since. But, Kareem was the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. Look at some of his games in his prime or in college. Between Magic, Kobe, and Jordan I get 3 different kinds of amazements from each. Magic played Center when Kareem went down. Kobe slammed on Duncan and David Robinson. Different era's. LeBron ain't even the king of his own era. Jordan is definitely unbreakable no doubt.

    Sigh...If MJ played today he would be a great 3 point shooter. His technique was flawless, and he was the type of competitor that became better every year by improving the facets of his game that would have the greatest impact. He would have stayed in the gym for an entire summer and emerged a sharpshooter from distance. Lebron's stats are a product of no rim protectors and an offense that always surrounds him with three point sharpshooters. Therefore a wide open lane, no rim protectors and single coverage. Just have a look at his shot chart, mostly bully ball to the rim. Jordan threw up the numbers he did being double and triple teamed his entire career, no three ball to jack his ppg, and rpg, far fewer shots taken overall, and a paint full of 7 footers waiting for him. He would average 40+ per game in today's game at his peak.

      Gadi, jaw dropping or not Lebron is on Magic's level regarding passing. Making the right pass has nothing to do with flashy it has to do with IQ. And lebron has that in the bag. 100 times better, really? Lebron gets penalized for being the passer that he is. And that's one of the greatest passers in the history. Stockton passes weren't flashy either, but I guess flash is what makes you better, and the only reason Stockton is in the hall of fame is because of his passing.

And lebron has done this while winning 3 chips and going 9 times to the finals. He'll be the only one of 2 players on top 10 assist list with more one championship. Only hom and magic. I would say lebron is on the same level as magic. Every scout from when lebron played in school until now raved about his passing more than scoring.

    Jordan would average like 40 points in this era. And I feel like he would've been at least a 40% 3 point shooter. 3s weren't emphasized back in the day. Only specialists like Steph's father, Dell, really worked on that shot. But as we saw in Game 1 of the 1992 Finals, Jordan could make it rain if he wanted. He actually did it to prove a point, that Drexler wasn't a better shooter than he was.

    Getting so tired of the pushed narrative of "Lebron has no help" bullshit.. People love to bring up Scottie Pippen for Jordan but if they knew their NBA history they know Scottie took about 3-4 years to truly emerge, before that he was soft, quit against the Pistons, shot horribly in the second 3 peat during the playoffs, averaging less than 20 points. Lebron has been grateful to play with better overall talent around, he just lacks the killer instinct of a Jordan to be a closer and come through in the clutch. If Lebron did the Cavs would certainly be up 2-1 in this series.

Rodman man all defensive . Also has THE BEST 3PT % SHOOTER OF ALL TIME. cmon help not even close. Lebron teammates who averaged more than pippen were defensive liabilities and was giving up what they were putting up, pippen was locking down. Scottie 20ppg when score was in the 80-90 is not the same as scoring 20 when the end score is 120 in today's game. Convert pace and scoring

Not to mention Miami was by far the worse team to win a chip in their era. Top heavy af with no coach. Did you just name jr and shumpert? Lol chill. Shump? The man who was on the bench ? Who averaged 3pts in the 2016 playoffs? Oh yeah that's help. Jr ? Lol again not prime JR. Youre focused on recognition of name and not caliber of player. Kuzma and Ingram won how many games last year? Rondo is definitely proven. But what help is he to a player who does what he does? Kyrie is literally the only person you could consider help. And despite being a defensive liability, he was never a defender and made lebron take a step back in usage.

    There’s been a lot of noise lately about LeBron perhaps passing Jordan as the G.O.A.T. There’s no doubt that LeBron is all-time great - in my opinion, there’s a solid argument that he might land at #2 on that list. But when the numbers are laid down, sorry kids...it ain’t close. From a post on KSR:
    Jordan vs LeBron
    Updated after Lebrons 14th season. Michael Jordan has:
    •3 more rings
    •3 more final mvps
    •1 more DPOY
    •1 more season MVP
    •9 more scoring titles
    •3 more steals leader
    •3 more all defensive team selections
    •4000 more points / bron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer.
    •800 more steals
    •Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10)
    •Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals
    Lebron did it twice
    •6/6 (never allowed a game 7)
    •Lebron had much more offensive help, example:
    Jordan never had a teammate average more than 22 points in the finals.. In fact, Mj is Only player in NBA history to lead a team to the championship with only one teammate averaging double figures in scoring
    * In the Bulls’ 1997 playoff run, Scottie Pippen averaged 19 points per game on 42% shooting. All other teammates of Jordan averaged under 8 points per game
    Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26
    •MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs
    •MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games..
    MJ accomplished all of this in 13 seasons
    Lebron after his 14th season, is still chasing the “ghost (GOAT) that played in Chicago”
    •Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg.
    (86 vs bos, 89 vs cavs, 90 vs philly, 92 vs Miami, 93 vs Phoenix, 88 vs cavs) Jordan won every one of those matchups except for the 1986 matchup vs the celtics.
    •Jordan in 88-89 averaged 32ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 3spg off 54% shooting. LeBron has never even came close to this stat line.
    •in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this.
    •the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%.
    •MJ has a higher playoff FG% of 48.7% to Lebrons 48.3%
    •MJ has a higher playoff player efficiency rating of 28.6 to Lebrons 27.3.
    •MJ shoots a higher playoff 3 point percentage of 33.2% to Lebrons 32.9%
    •LeBron James has scored 30 points, 416 times in 1,117 games.
    Michael Jordan did it 562 times in 1,072 games.
    Jordan won 6 championships without losing a final in 1,072 games and LeBron in 1,117 games has lost 5 times and has only won 3 times (updated 2018)
    •MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year..
    •Mj also has more career blocks (893) than Lebron James (853) despite playing in 22 LESS career games and being the smaller guy.
    Also, MJ averaged 1.6 blocks per game in the 1987-88 season which is absolutely bonkers for a 6’6″ shooting guard.
    Seriously this list can keep going. This isn’t even a debate. Mj is the GOAT.
    MIchael Jordan:
    •NBA record 5 playoffs series’ averaging atleast 40ppg
    •Only player in history to lead league in scoring and win DPOY
    •Highest scoring average, points per game, in any championship series:
    41.0 vs. Phoenix Suns, 1993 NBA Finals
    •Only rookie in NBA history to lead his team in four statistics (1984-85)
    •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring, win Most Valuable Player, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (1987-88)
    •Only player in history to average at least 30pts 6reb 5assists And 2 steals per game AND HE DID IT 7 TIMES.
    •Only player in NBA history to win Rookie of the Year (1984-85), Defensive Player of the Year (1987-88), NBA MVP (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98), All-Star MVP (1988, 1996, 1998), and Finals MVP (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998)
    •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring and win the NBA championship MORE THAN ONCE in the same season
    * He did this SIX TIMES!! (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98)
    •One of two players in NBA history to score 3,000 points in a season: 3,041 points scored in 82 games played (37.1 ppg) (1986-87)
    * Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to achieve this.
    •MJ is also the only player in NBA history to score over 40 points at age 40, and he did it twice!
    •In 1988, MJ earned: Dunk Champ, All Star Game MVP, NBA Scoring Title, League MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
    Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls:
    -10 scoring titles,
    -Won Defensive Player of the Year,
    -9 times all defensive team,
    -9time All NBA,
    -5 league MVPs
    -6 finals MVPs
    All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career…

    In Michael's era, he was the star, but we rooted for the Bulls, as we do nowadays for the Warriors, Rockets etc. We don't root from Kevid Durant, Curry, Harden, Anthony Davis, but for their trams. The only team treated like "helping" or "not helping" a teammate is the Cavaliers. This is unique in basketball history. I'm pretty sure that at the end of the day ALL non-LeBron players in the roster resent this way of perceiving their roles in Cleveland's team, and I think that it probably plays a role in downgrading their performance level.

      Woolridge had potential to be a good supporting player for MJ until he threw it all away on drugs and booze. I actually enjoyed watching him play.
      Cleveland in 2007 weren't actually a bad team. They had some solid role players. Reminded me a little of a watered down 94 Rockets team - solid core built around a single allstar.

    BJ Armstrong was the shortest player of all the Michael Jordan's era of the Chicago Bulls.
    He was always consistent with his game and he was also a high level of performer. And as a Chicago Bulls fan at the time, I did appreciate him. I also remember him sticking out his teeth guard a lot of times when not in possession of the ball. Great player.

    There's nothing watchable about Lebron's game, they let him offensive foul all game and then he jumps in the air to pass to some shooter on the wing,... Cannot compare to Jordan.

    • @munoken

      x50s only somebody who knows nothing about the NBA and basketball would say that Jordan's era was a weak era. This era is weak where there's ticky-tack fouls and referees call everything. The 80s were physical the 90s were physical even the early 2000s with Kobe and the Lakers but now the game is a totally different game. Where a guy can waltz right down the middle and score because it brings more ratings. If you're playing International ball you do not have that freedom this is where you guys know nothing about basketball because that's rule number one nobody gets a layup and LeBron is benefiting from that.

    • @munoken
      @munoken 6 лет назад +8

      MaLJaY Worldstar LeBron wouldn't score 40 points he'd score about 25 and that's being generous. Jordan on the other hand in this era with the last physical play would average about 50 easy.

    I normally don't touch comparisons. But as BJ said,"MJ was a finisher." LeBron hasn't learned to share the load,so that he will energy to be a great finisher. LeBron is totally exhausted in the 4th quarter and especially the last 5mins,because he never learned to trust his teammates to do their jobs. LeBron is the point guard,scorer and rebounder. His teammates become robots just standing around. And another thing,MJ didn't concern himself with being the smartest person in the Locker Room. Meaning he was Coachable.

      I remember watching the Heat vs Bulls in the playoffs years back, and the amount of BITCHING LBJ was doing at the tiniest of fouls - he'd be running to the locker room calling his momma if he played in the 80's and 90's. Can you just IMAGINE what Dennis Rodman would've done to him......

      I think that's the ultimate argument for Jordan's greatness. Jordan in this era would be damn near unstoppable, while LeBron in Jordan's era would still be a solid player because of his talent but wouldn't be able to handle the physicality.

      Two different era's... Allstar voting was different back then too. Can't compare it that way. It takes a lot more to win now. Why you think they called the 90s the expansion era... Talent was spread around. Jordan was never facing teams full of all stars either.

    • @lilken21
      @lilken21 6 лет назад +18

      baldpnoy410 if you can compare that cause it’s “two diff eras” then you obviously can’t compare the players either.

      well yea... But OP going by how many all star appearances by each player had as help... I'm just saying in the 90s you didn't need to build all star teams to win, like the 80s and now. Level of competition was different back then.

    • @khines2994
      @khines2994 6 лет назад +11

      baldpnoy410, much harder to win now?? They don't play real defense now. You saw what happened to GS when Houston got a little physical with them. If Chris Paul stays healthy they win that series. What would happen if they played the Bad Boys??

    • @baldpnoy410
      @baldpnoy410 6 лет назад +3

      Kevin Hines
      They don't play defense now?... They will probably run those guys off the court. That team is not used to guarding the 3 point line.. Laimbeer will be useless. KD/Curry/Klay will just shoot over those 2 midget back courts. A lot of those teams will struggle to guard teams now. They are not used to guarding the 3pt line. Game was played differently back then.

    “He was a scorer per say” yeah and also you can say he was a phenomenal shooter. Look at those fg takes and makes. He shot more fg within the arc than anyone in the later half of the second three peat during the reg season. ESPN showed me that stat. And he was by far a heavy shot taker in the last and maybe the last two years of the Chicago run m, 97-98’
