      Generally the people who think Lebron is the best are USUALLY people who didn't actually see MJ play! They only know Jordan through highlights, videos, word of mouth, etc. The ones who experienced him live KNOW! The other group who doesn't think Jordan is the GOAT are usually disgruntled exes: Isaiah Thomases, Scottie Pippens, opposing fans of teams that Jordan terrorized. I've seen Jordan play in person a few times and I've seen Lebron play in person a couple of times. They both were easily the best players on the court but MJ just had that extra something that very few athletes have!

    • @thug2244
      @thug2244 Год назад

      @@gregoryharlston0602 you are right - and I sort of understand how Doctor J and Wilt Chamberlain and others felt - MJ was the new kid on the block getting praised and had not done anything yet (in their eyes) - but MJ quickly changed a lot of opinions - I felt some type of way when Kobe started gaining momentum, but he quickly made me shut up and stop hatting 🤣 - but Lebron had all kid of advantages that MJ didn't have - and Kobe came into the league when it was different also and that is what made him better - if MJ and Kobe would have started their careers around 2003 they would have more than 5 or 6 rings by now - the rule changes combined with nobody playing defense in the NBA nowadays, would have made the game just too easy for those guys - Lebron is a great players but he isn't close to His Airness

    Steve Kerr talked about this very same game. He remembers the first time he saw MJ in a game was when Kerr was sitting on the bench. MJ had the ball and turned to the Suns' bench and said, "Watch this" while holding the ball to their faces. MJ turned around and went around Majerle and dunked on him. He ran back on defense while laughing.

On warming up a fan threw coins to the players of the visiting team and Eddie nearly lost his eye. The general manager of Olympiacos was afraid that Eddie is going to take the first plane for the States after that and he tried to calm him down. EJ said to him "don t worry about me I grew up in Chicago". He scored 25 in the same game and they won by 15-20 points. Eddie Jonhson was a bad motherfucker...

His PREDECESSORS were in awe of him. You mentioned the comment from Larry Bird. Magic Johnson has continuously called MJ the GOAT, even up until recently. Think about how unusual that is. That would be like if Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant back in the 2010s started saying LeBron is the GOAT. That is a thought that would never even cross their minds.

      @@OLLIE-ILL We're talking about the most competitive person to play any sport. It could have been $4...he would have told the coach and bench lol. But I think he was really telling the coach that's why they weren't playing more so than how much he won.

      @@DeeRG Don't need to be an accountant, just literate and know basic gambling odds. The baseball retirement conspiracy theory actually has some meat to it and I usually laugh those things off.
      The funniest take away from this story is that MJ in '88/'89 (a huge star, but not at his peak) would kick it with the other team IF they would gamble at his cash poker game and make side bets on top of that.

    Those top guards in the 90s would be sitting at the end of the bench or playing G league in todays game . None of them can guard anybody .

      Who in todays game could guard Jordan? btw, if you think it was only guards checking Jordann, then you’re showing that you might not have really watched those 90’s games.

      Which actual guard plays D in today's league? I just need to give you 2 names in the 90s, and they play better D than anyone right now. Joe Dumars and Gary Payton. Tell me you don't know ball without telling me you don't know ball.

      Wtf. Nobody is guarding anybody in today's league. Is defense still a thing? I mean it's a highway in the paint. I remembered when old man MJ schooled physical prime Marion who when he was 33 gave LBJ fits in the finals. CONTEXT. So don't compare eras as what MJ said...
