Love your channel! It reminds me of all the great things about Vegas even when I can't be there. As a Caesars loyalist (we only have Caesars properties here in the Midwest) and poker player, Horseshoe is my favorite hotel on the strip! The new poker room is outstanding, especially for a low stakes recreational player such as myself. I agree with all the pros and cons, except, I think the pool is a pro rather than a con. It usually isn't too busy, nice easy-going vibe, and it's a great pool, if you actually want to get in and swim! (assuming the deep end is open). I agree that their hotel lobby bar is very nice and in middle of the action. The other con to note is the restaurants. Horseshoe has the worst restaurant selection on the entire strip. They practically don't have any restaurants, except for their steakhouse which is admittedly a nice place. Their recent effort at opening a new restaurant, M.Y. Asia, has already failed and closed before I got the chance to try it. But that doesn't deter me because Horseshoe is right next to Paris, which has some of the best restaurants on the strip. I always find my way to Paris or across the street to Caesars for dining, whenever I stay at the Horseshoe. Thanks again for your review! Scott
Yasssss, The Shining elevator doors!! My mom and I were going to stay at Horseshoe when we go to Vegas in Dec, but you have to walk through allllll those random food vendors to even get on the strip, so we decided on Bellagio. Lol
Thanks for the awesome video review. Stayed at horseshoe April 2023 for 3 nights. Rates were affordable Friday to Monday. No kiosk lines at 10am when checked in and had to pay early check in free. Short walk to elevators. Also noted short walk to Uber pick up and drop off. Standard room was big and bed comfortable. 19th floor with a sphere view. Apparently there was a fire on the same floor several weeks after I checked out. Didn’t really stay as much in the resort. Visited other resorts to dine, shows and played slots. I would stay there again if rates are good. Only issues I have is elevators are so busy when you have ti check out. Had an issue of housekeeping not cleaning the room when I asked over and over.
Horseshoe is now my favorite hotel , it used to be Paris, , I like the rooms at Horseshoe, the location is perfect, easy to take Uber at Flamingo Road, so you dont need to drive through the main Vegas Blvd. I liked the pool, they opened the deep side of the pool later on and I really like it. Not too much restaurant choices , I didnt like the steakhouse because they have absolutely NO BREAD, and it is a big negative for me.
I stayed at Ballys 3x in the last 5 years and it definitely had value and a central location. It seems like the prices have gone up since its transition to Horseshoe. But its still a better value than other hotels on the strip. Im going to be checking out the newly renovated NYNY rooms this month
I am not a fan of Caesars properties, but I may have to check this property out on my visit first full week of November(staying at Park MGM). Haven't seen it since it became Horseshoe
I WOULD STAY HERE IF I HAD TO. I THINK ITS A NICE HOTEL. BUT OF COURSE NEW YORK NEW YORK HAS MY HEART😆. THANKS FOR SHARING, KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT JOB. 👍🏼😁
Enjoyed your video once again. My first visit to Vegas as a gambling adult back in 1979 was at this property known then as the MGM Grand... Amazing story over the years as this property changes personalities every 20 years or so. Looking forward to going back based on your review! Thank you!
Great Video! Expedia is already advertising rooms for November in the Jubilee tower under the Paris hotel site as Versailles rooms. They are obviously the old Bally's rooms by the bigger size but refurnished in a modern style and very much more expensive.
Loved the opening intro ! So I will say other than Caesars Palace and Paris I’m not a fan of the rest of their properties, however, I did like your room . The refresh and rebranding was much needed and looks pretty good. I still wouldn’t stay here as I prefer the high end properties like Wynn, Aria and Bellagio. I do think it was a great deal for what you got. Excellent review 😎😎😎
was there jsut 2 days ago for 4 days. first time staying there. Room was ok , but was a little beat up. i was on the 7th floor of the resort tower. did not eat or gamble there . the location is prime . one thing i like was that the uber and pickup has its own area. no need to look at valets staring at you when you drive through. the way the pool is situated , there is basically no shade the whole day. there was no wait for the kiosk check in . the machines were pretty easy to figure out would I stay there again? if the price is right ,most surely.
I appreciate the fair and detailed reviews on the hotels you visit! The air conditioning issues in the room and the lack of hot water in the tub can't be overlooked. The pool area needs a lot of improvement. I always think of that place as boring and drab. I'm at a pass on this one!
Good Review! Quality Review as always. Do the regular rooms have the soaking tub? Also, the pricing is still quite high for a weekend when you’re approaching Venetian/Palazzo pricing.
Great video as always. The casino floor sure looks a lot better. Not a fan of the cabinet or the lock. Went there, asked a very rude bartender to get in the lock and was told not without a reservation. We logged in, had a reservation within 10 minutes to find just two people in the lock and the service and drinks were NOT great. It's a value hotel but miles beneath Park MGM for a value hotel IMO. I kinda think it's nice lipstick on a pig in the main area and rooms.
I disagree the Park MGM rooms are just dated and boring. And the casino is to spaced out and terrible game selection for tables. CET has the best table games by alot the fact that there is no Progressives on alot of MGM games just feels like it's missing something. Also CET minimums are usually lower for carnival games. Most weekdays Flamingo has $5 High Card Flush, $5 Stud, $10 3 Card, Crazy 4 and UTH. Park MGM on a random weekday it was $25 for every game and $50 for Pai Gow. Park MGM is only better in restaurants and the pool.
This was almost the first place i stayed in Las Vegas. I have to say ‘almost’ because it was where i had my reservation but i had overestimated how long it would take to drive from Ohio (I figured 5 days but it only took me 3) so my first actual night in Vegas was at the Super 8 attached to Ellis Island. Then a 1 night stay at the Grand Canyon then back to Bally’s. It was a nice hotel and still had some of the decor from when it had been the MGM Grand; pictures of famous actors in the hallways. Plenty comfortable for a single person. The casino was fun and it still had a buffet back then; the Big Kitchen. It was a fun five nights. It’s a nice property but i think it suffers due to its size and neighborhood. Paris is larger and nicer. Planet Hollywood is larger and arguably nicer (definitely a nicer shopping area with the Miracle Mile) Flamingo and Linq have the reputation for being the ‘party hotels.’ Horseshoe is neither fish nor fowl and new enough in this identity to not really develop its own vibe yet. Give it a year or two, and get the new places built out by the Strip, and it will come into its own.
I think it is in an old store. That part of the hotel used to be a shopping district but there aren’t any stores left in that hallway. Thanks as always for watching!
Always enjoy your vlogs - but I have a quick question: does Caesars recognise your name and realise that you're a vlogger when you book a room, or are you able to do it anonymously? The reason I ask is I've seen some terrible reviews on Tripadvisor for the remodelled Horseshoe ... so I wonder if they maybe steer you towards the better rooms?
We book under our real names, so if a hotel had good management you would think they would be keeping tabs on Vloggers. That said, I don’t think Caesars Entertainment does, which makes sense because it is a very poorly managed company. My experiences at Flamingo, Harrah’s, and Linq all indicate they didn’t give my reservation any special treatment. In fact, they handled them as poorly as possible.
@@richardwinman1994 I’ve heard that they yell fire and apparitions appear at your bedside. I was there 3 years ago and never heard of any of it. The location of this hotel is not good. It is very crowded at that part of Las Vegas Blvd. Would prefer to be at a place off of Las Vegas Blvd. The casino looks nice, but, many tables games seems closed. Do they still have KENO runners? I am subscribed, even hit the like button.
Good vid, hey we met your wife at vdara in the elevator. Very nice person and she seemed happy we recognized her. You aint lying she's definitely better looking than you. Lol.
Horseshoe is small. I stayed there NYE 2019. I found it a good flopping spot but the restaurant options are limited and the food court/amusement area has is kind of like a little mall. The restaurants they put in the area where the old deli used to be tend to fail. I’ve always thought that was super eerie. Never saw ghosts but they say it’s haunted to the rafters. It’s not a bad place, I wish they’d bring it back to life because it used to be a great hotel, they taped all the Dean Martin roasts there and it was a celebrity favorite. Now, it’s just small. I wouldn’t stay there again after watching coverage of the fire. I don’t want to spend my vacation in a room where a family may have died.
No, the regular rooms typically just have a walk-in shower. Those high weekend prices are on extremely busy weekends. The higher-end resorts are even higher... Thanks as always for watching!
4:30 "you don't see a poker room very often in Vegas".... Huh? There are poker rooms all over Vegas. Yes there are a few less than 10 years ago and some have shrunk a bit since the boom, but there are still lots of them, and the ones that are left are the better ones.
A few less? There are currently 19 poker rooms operating in Vegas. Since 2011, 41 have closed. In other words, 68 percent of the poker rooms in Vegas have closed in the last 12 years. No, they're not exceedingly rare, but the comment remains valid. Thanks for watching!
Believe it or not, this is not our full time job. Sometimes it’s not feasible for both of us to take 5 trips to Vegas per year. Thanks for the hot take though…
That's a good one! And one thing is if you want to get to the monorail you'll go down the basement and walk a mile. But I like the upgrades there
