I dont know why people have so many bad things to say about the luxor hotel my wife and I stayed here every time we come to Vegas and have had no complaints or bad experiences ,rooms are very nice & comfortable beds ,great buffet, great steak house restaurant, good food court thats reasonably priced for most meals ,close to everything easy access to Mandalay Bay would definitely stay there again.

Me and my wife stayed at Luxor two years ago (we stayed for a day and the remaining 5 days at Flamingo) and we loved it there. We really liked the pool as well. We didn't get to do much here, but we'll probably check out Play (maybe with some of our friends that live in North Las Vegas) when we fly in 3 weeks from now.
Check in was a breeze. The thing that helped us location wise was the stuff we wanted to do south strip we did on that day and then when we went to Flamingo for the following days, we were able to do everything else.
The room did the trick. We saw it more as a place to sleep rather than a place to stay; we were hardly in the room. If I had a luxury room, then oh yes. I would want to get as much out of the room as possible.
The price is right for the Luxor.

100% what you said about people who hate on Luxor not being the ones who’ve never stayed there. It’s not a super luxurious property, and it never was! It’s always been a kitschy fun hotel! I’ve stayed there quite a lot in Vegas and every time it’s been pretty good!

Nice video Jordan! I have never stayed at Luxor. The closest to there I have stayed was at the Four Seasons inside Mandalay Bay and I am not sure the Four Seasons is still there. I gambled at Luxor and I agree with your critique of the casino. The vibe was weird and uncomfortable which is a no no if you are a serious gambler. However, based on your review, I will have to give Luxor a try especially with those low prices early in the week. Thank you for all your effort in educating us about Las Vegas. Your productions are always top notch and entertaining to watch!

Hey Sir Jordan ! I stayed one night at Luxor in 2022 in the pyramid as I came in a day early before my stay at Bellagio. The room was decent but that crazy slanted elevator that moves sideways put me over the edge lol . On the whole it’s a good low tier property . I agree with you for the price point the value is there . I really love the outside Egyptian theming. Probably won’t stay again as I prefer Aria and Bellagio but for a night it’s doable . I stayed at the Luxor last summer and had a good experience. I was reluctant to do so as it was getting a lot of negative reviews. I was in the Towers as well (eastern side/airport view), but had a step down without the wet bar or small 'fridge. It was a decent room. Fairly clean but had a 'old' smell. The bathroom was in a bit of disrepair as well, but overall happy with it. Just walking around the Luxor is still fun... there's a lot to check out (especially if you are an Ancient Egyptian enthusiast). Another great video - thanks for all the news and reviews!

I stayed in one of the 2 queen tower rooms back in 2019 and found the room very nice for being a comped room for 3 nights. I took my sister down to see a live recording of her favorite podcast for her birthday and that started the tradition of us doing a Vegas trip together each February to celebrate our birthdays and get away from the cold for a few days. I generally agree with you. I like the property but can't stand the casino. and the location isn't great but it is a location I would stay again because of the over all value.

The tower was unique, and the elevator there was listed as a drawing point (due to the 45 degree incline). Yes, connected to both Mandalay Bay and Excalibur then, too...and, definitely not a dump by any means. 😊😊😊

I like the Luxor because I’m a huge nerd for ancient Egypt, even though they’ve toned the theme down a lot in recent years. I like that it’s away from the center of the strip. It’s showing its age and could definitely use a refresh (I also haven’t been since 2019 and always in a pyramid suite), but next time I go that’s where I’ll stay (or probably Mandalay Bay tbh).

We just stayed here last weekend, 13 & 14th in the pyramid and wow what a difference in the rooms. We had a corner king suite and it was extremely outdated, no closet, just a small wardrobe and the plugs were nowhere near the bedside tables. There was one behind the middle of the bed that couldn’t be reached. The room was giant and pretty clean though, the giant tub in the room was nice but the faucets were ancient, a little corroded and the faucet to fill it was so loud you couldn’t hear each other talk sitting next to each other. Overall we had a good stay but would probably stay in a tower or someplace else if we wanted a nicer, more updated room.

Do NOT self park, bring your comfortable shoes, everything is far from everything else, make sure your room as a coffee maker if you don't like overpriced starbucks rot gut. Close enough to T Mobile arena and far enough where it doesn't get affected by surge pricing too much by events at T Mobile (unlike NY NY and Park MGM). As much as I'm tempted to pay for a nice ultra luxury place like the Wynn/Encore, I rather drop 300-400 for whole weekend at Luxor than $500 for one night at the Wynn.

I've stayed here a TON of times over the last several years and I've had a mixed bag of experiences. I've had excellent stays with no issues...and I've had bad stays with several issues.

Have lived in Las Vegas nearly 20 years. Prior to that, stayed in the Luxor a long time ago, so long in fact that the Mandalay Bay was just a dirt lot recently cleared of the old Hacienda resort. Yes, that long ago. Stayed in the pyramid rooms. At the time, it was considered an upper end property. I can't imagine coming to Las Vegas on vacation and the reason I stayed there then; was in the Air Force, here for Red Flag and they put some us of up there - amazingly. I think that was 1994.

Luxor hotel itself is absolutely amazing !
However… on occasions multiple elevators will break down at the same time , causing a slight backup. One can sit on a pyramid floor for 10 mins before an elevator shows up.
And the pyramid cafe is not good. Not even close to being good . Borderline inedible.
I would tell you the best spot for breakfast in Vegas but I don’t want it to get any busier

There is nothing wrong with staying at Luxor for a lower budget vacation. I don’t care for their dining options, but you have easy access to nicer dining at Mandalay Bay and better fast food options at Excalibur. The Luxor buffet is horrible, avoid at all costs. I also don’t like the casino at Luxor, and wish they hadn’t removed so much of the Egyptian themed design.
The real problem with Luxor is that there are better budget options on the Las Vegas Strip, including NY-NY, Park MGM and Planet Hollywood.

I dont get the legit hate towards Luxor. Is it a lower end budget option, yea, but that still fills a need for lots of people.
Public house and Tender are solid options, plus 5-8 other restaurants connected at MB/Delano, pretty decent pools.
The only big negative is the location, sure you can uber places, but if you dont like to do that then you are basically south strip only

Luxor definitely gets such an undeserved bad rep. I often see it included in Top Five Worst Vegas Resorts lists and...............I really don't get it. I respect people's individual opinions but in my mind I'm like, "ARE we looking at the same resort here?" 🤷‍♀
Now don't get me wrong: I'm certainly NOT suggesting that it's among the ten best resorts on the Strip either. I'm certainly not. But the point is: Luxor isn't trying to be something it's not. It KNOWS it's between a three and a four-star resort and it definitely looks and feels the part. I think a considerable chunk of those who consider Luxor a Top Five Worst Vegas Resort just have inflated, unrealistic expectations for the resort going in: like they had literally stayed at Wynn/Encore, Fontainebleau, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio.............resorts like that immediately beforehand. And yeah: on the surface Luxor would certainly feel like a downgrade coming on the heels of those resorts among a few others............but, again, LUXOR ISN'T TRYING TO BE ANY OF THOSE RESORTS!
And for a resort between three and four stars: it delivers pretty solidly in most areas. You have recently renovated rooms overall in both the Tower and Pyramid (I definitely prefer the Tower rooms personally but the renovated Pyramid rooms are also quite decent), you have a standard pool I'd consider on the better half of all Vegas Strip standard pools that's certainly not amazing but still quite enjoyable, you have a pretty stacked entertainment lineup, and then you have their new ace in the sleeve: PLAY Playground: which I can already tell is really breathing some new, youthful life into the resort commons that was greatly needed and is successfully pulling in some of the AREA15 crowd. 🙂
Luxor obviously has its flaws. I will admit that their casino floor is one of the ugliest on the entire Strip with all the dusty browns and so forth. I know they've been replacing the carpet and I will admit it does look better than it did, but I'd still consider it among the worse half of Vegas casino floors aesthetically and in terms of feng shui. Also: they're lacking in decent dining options. Diablo's Cantina is pretty cool and kind of affordable, Public House is serviceable and Tender Steakhouse is alright, but otherwise you're pretty much limited to fast food and an overpriced breakfast spot Pyramid Cafe paying double the price of what you typically pay for the same thing off-Strip with abysmal food quality that just isn't worth it. I also think they need one or two more lounges as the only two standouts as of right now there are Aurora (which I've always liked), and the new lounge inside PLAY Playground which IS a VERY welcome addition. But that's about it and I think they'd definitely benefit from one or two more alongside some more distinct dining concepts.
But yeah: all in all I really like Luxor. I'm not going to be disingenuous and claim it's among the cream of the crop on the Strip because it certainly isn't............but I can also confidently say I'll take Luxor over almost any Eldorado-era Caesars resort right now with the possible exception of Planet Hollywood, MAYBE Paris..........as well as T.I. I acknowledge that may not sound like the most confidence-instilling endorsement of Luxor on the surface, but when you consider the fact that Luxor is essentially a three-and-a-half star resort..............and Caesars Palace is considered a four-star resort along with Cromwell, Planet Hollywood and the LINQ, and the only other resorts in MGM Resorts' portfolio directly comparable to Luxor are Excalibur and New York New York.............that's actually a pretty glowing endorsement in a bigger picture perspective comparing all the between three and four star resorts with each other. 🙂
If you were to ask me to tier-rank Luxor, I'd say it's somewhere between a B- and a C+. I definitely think it punches above its weight relative to other resorts in its class as I aforementioned, and that's why I have a considerable respect for Luxor. I'd definitely recommend it especially to budget-minded travelers as well as first-timers who want to have a great first impression of Vegas but are maybe a bit intimidated by going with a more over-the-top leviathan resort right off the bat. Kudos as always for your great reviews! 😇
