Yeah, I think I will go to the Plaza after seeing Brian Christopher there so many times on Brian's Utube videos. I never played the slots in Vegas when I was there because I had not yet played the slots anywhere and I was a little overwhelmed by the city.
Many many years ago I stayed on the 26th floor of the plaza. I loved it back then and really looking forward to seeing the changes after 18 years. As a retired pit boss. This video has to be the most entertaining and informative to casino rookies and experienced people. Very well put together.
Fabulous video. Great interview!! I've been coming to Vegas for a long time. In fact my first visit I was with my parents in June of 1965. After 565 trips to Vegas I retired here in 2021 and haven't left. Over the years the Plaza started to show its age and Johnathon completely revitalized the property. 😊😊😊
Hey its The Plaza Fireworks Director! I can't believe you didn't wear that shirt for the interview Jonathan 😂 I agree with Oscar, MGM are defo the biggest crooks! Loved it, great episode 🤘
This is the only place I usually stay in Las Vegas and it’s because of Jonathan and his staff who makes us feel like family since the moment we met & Who we have known for over 10 years now and he is the definition of what you see is what you get, No BS and never ducks a question (Besides casino revenue 😂) I interviewed him multiple times cause he’s just a guy you can sit down and have a beer or ten with and glad to call him my friend and well done video guys also you will never see another casino CEO willingly do this type of video 👏 jossel truly loves downtown Las Vegas 🫡
An absolute fantastic insight to what is one of the most transparent CEO & Casinos in the country great job Sir & credit to Johnathon for allowing us into his casino
I teared up for a second, listening to Garrett say that he got to experience what his dream job could’ve been with meeting the CEO in spending the day with him. I think the majority of human beings would love to see what their childhood dreams could’ve turned out to be, even those of us who are living the dream as an adult ❤
I wouldn't consider myself a highroller, but me and the wife take about 10k on a 3 night stay to vegas. So throughout the weekend we gamble hard and have fun. We like to stay at the Bellagio or other MGM properties. I've always stayed on the strip because of free rooms, food, and free play. But as of late, I feel like the dealers are rude, the odds on tables are absolutely horrendous, (triple zero) roulette is just the start. Lots of other complaints to be spoken of but, I going to keep this short. After watching this video, me and the wife have decided we are going to book our next Vegas trip and stay HERE! Everything I've watched in this video just made me feel good. I wish I could show my MGM win and loss statement to these guys, to start getting comps, so I can plan my next trip!😅
I can tell you why dealers can be rude. 8 hours a day of listening to the same whiners the same people crying the game is rigged blaming them for their losing. Management making them work more hours for less money ( dealers are paid in many cases less than minimum wage ) no job security as all it takes is one whiner to complain and lie about what was said and their livelihood goes down the drain Watching people bet more in 10 minutes than they make in a year paying people 1000s upon 1000s of dollars and not seeing a dime in tips which they rely on. Having to watch out for cheats and if they miss one capping a bet or pulling back a bet they can get fired. Watching players tip a waitress who carried a drink to them 5 to 100 bucks and then they get nothing from the player when they have spent 3 hours with them as they are getting progressively more drunk. Having to teach new players the game and having to listen to the same old tired comments which everyone thinks they came up with like wine winner chicken dinner Having to enforce the rules of the game while people they have told a 100 times continue to do the things they are told not to do Etc etc etc. it where’s on people.
Respect to him for being open and as transparent as allowable. He has passion for his job I see also. This is a great move on his part. Fantastic PR for his casino. I imagine he’s accessible to patrons while on the floor. I further imagine he rewards hard work and knows who are the best employees. Totally hands on and will fill in at any job in the casino if needed. And to top it all off I’m 100% sure he reads all these comments. For feedback purposes. So Hi I’ll have to hit the Plaza my next visit.
This is a great property next to really iconic places. Across from circa, and golden gate. A block away from golden nugget, binions and all the beauty of downtown nightlife. This has been my favorite place that nobody seems to know about
Now THIS is the kind of experience we want when we go to Vegas. Building great relationships with a casino that makes us feel at home and give ua that old school Vegas vibe. As much as we love other properties, they leave you feeling just like another player regardless of tier level. Definitely will stop by here when we visit next week!
Wish I would have seen this video before I went to Vegas two weeks ago! We went downtown and loved it!! I didn't realize that the cute doughnut place was owned by the Plaza! And what a beautiful carousel bar! It is stuff like that that tourists will remember and come back to. If I ran a business I would run it exactly like Jonathon does! He is GENUINE!! So important in today's world!! And by the way Gareth-you beat Noah's looks hands down!! Great video!!
This is a spectacular video. One of the most enjoyable youtube videos I've ever watched. Thanks for filming it. Fair play to Jonathan for being so open.
Because of your video I’m visiting the Plaza on my trip next month (and I have to stay somewhere else because my office already booked my trip). Thank you to the CEO Jonathan and Gareth! Really nice to watch.
@@factbasedreality And you garnered all that from a promotional video, eh? Enjoy your stay. I'm sure if you drunkenly gamble away your kid's college fund, he'll buy you breakfast and let you stay another couple of days for free - you know, because he cares and knows you wouldn't get drunk again off his free drinks and dip into your retirement fund to get that college fund back, lol
All positive things you said about Jonathan is so true. I'm not a gambler or RUclipsr but he treated me with such hospitality, respect and kindness when we met and online. He's the real thing and then some. Love from Sweden 🇸🇪❤️🇺🇸
We stayed at the Plaza in April for our daughter's wedding. My husband knows a lot of mob history because he worked for some at a laundry facility when he was a young boy along with his grandmother and aunt while we were checking in my husband started telling the Hotel Check-in Employee about who owned the Plaza and its long history and the employee was very excited to tell us about Jonathan and honestly as former employers we were excited to hear about his passion for his boss and workplace.
Jonathan is truly an exemplary CEO. He stops by quite often when Brian Christopher Live streams and is always down to earth. His vision and understanding of the new(er) way of Marketing by utilizing Social media is something others can learn from. Kudos to him! ♥
Nice to see the CEO of a casino out and about listening to him employees and customers alike. Our local casinos in Laughlin could learn a thing or two from this boss!
This was fascinating. I have been watching Brian Christopher slots for over 5 years so when the area opened at the Plaza for non smokers, with his name on it I was so thrilled for him. Clearly a forward thinking casino owner. He seems so nice and so genuine. And I have no clue who you, Gareth, are. Nice job on this though. I'm sure this came up on my recommended because I watch slot channels. That would be a duh, right?
I love this video that a CEO that is hands on and knows employees' names and what is going on in the business. I have worked in companies that the CEO thought they were better than the day-to-day workers for the company. What they don't realize is the employees is what can make or break a company. I haven't been to Las Vegas in a while. Love they have bingo games. My daughter and I play bingo every week. Thank you for sharing. Napa CA
Absolutely awesome video! Love the in depth look at how things work from the casino’s perspective. And shoutout to the CEO for his great personality, outlook, and willingness to take time to showcase his life and work.
This is the first video I watched of yours and man it was fascinating! Thanks to you for putting it together and thanks to Johnathon and the Plaza for making it happen. I'll be in Vegas in a couple weeks and will definitely be checking out this property for the first time.
Fabulous interview and what a wonderful, seemingly transparent CEO! I have never visited the Plaza but will definitely spend my money, time with this place.
He literally said his machines aren't rigged because it's based on a random number generator. If you think this is transparency, I can tell you would be the type of person to enjoy their time in his facility.
@Priest_Of_Zebak I would enjoy my time there. ALL the machines in Vegas except for a few exceptions - are RNG. It's run/decided by the gaming commission. How is he in a position to change that. What other CEO has ever answered questions? Taken you behind the scenes? Hell look at how much he's raking in with bingo (from mostly old folks?). That's the worse odds gambling ever!
@@Priest_Of_Zebak Nothing he said was inaccurate. That's how slot machines work. They are random number generators. Are they "rigged" in favor of the house, yes, but so is every casino game.
So nice to see a CEO that is open, friendly and trying to fit both t the old Vegas & bring in new things for the younger generations to come and enjoy. I definitely gotta check it out when I visit again
John seems like a really cool guy and cares about what goes into the casino as a whole from the people who play and those who work for him. This was a great look inside because like you I have always wanted to know. Thanks.
Gareth ! That was a super fun and interesting vid with Jonathan! I've been to Vegas 73 times in the last 40 years and have NEVER been to the Plaza. My next trip is in July and we are heading to the Plaza thanks to u. Great job!
I stayed with this til the end. Great job Gareth. I don't get to Vegas often living in Reno but this CEO runs things with genuine sincerity. It'll be my preferred stop when I return. But I haven't seen any YT'ers recording or doing LIVES there. Many are at the V.
Wow! This was incredible. I've been following Jonathan and the Plaza crew since they started their podcast. Such a top notch CEO and amazing team and property. Very cool to see him in action. Great job and thank you for this video!
What a great video! Jonathan is such a hands on CEO. I met him the first time when I won the name the showgirl at the carousel bar. It has been great seeing the improvements at the Plaza. One of my favorite properties.
What a great DITL interview. Our family has been to Downtown many times over the years. I finally wandered over to Plaza in March. Gaming was good & I won a few bucks. So much potential for that location as downtown reinvents itself starting with the addition of Circa. Bonus VPC sighting. Kudos!
This is simply great that the CEO of the casino has an amazing personality and goes around interacting with players & the employees. You could hardly see this in Canada and the new casino in Toronto is the worst when it comes to customer service especially some of the table games supervisors. Canadians are known to be polite & friendly but when you go to this place, it’s totally a different place. We need to learn a lot from the Americans how to run businesses. This CEO is one of the best I have seen cause he seems to be pretty straight forward, honest, friendly & a genuine guy. Great content!!!!
Wow, I came across this interview unintentionally but what a wonderful time spent watching you both. Mr. Johnathan, you are a breath of fresh air. Never in a million years did I think a casino owner would be so open and honest about the ins and outs of managing this casino while keeping such a friendly demeanor with your employees and Guests. I am by no means a high roller but the $ I do have to spend is made by working hard and I dont mind spending it with a company that values its employees and Guests like you do. I will be visiting The Plaza for sure. I will also encourage as many people as I can to go there for their Vegas visits. Thanks for the video Mr. Gareth! Such a lovely way to get to know a CEO like Mr. Johnathan, or that such a kind CEO exists.😊
What a GREAT video. I'm a strip visiter from NoCal. Go to Cosmo once a month (Platinum member) for last 6+ years and I never go to downtown. After watching this I'm definitely heading to the Plaza. I had no idea what a cool place. Thanks and it's great to see the CEO what a nice guy.
Don't miss El Cortez over on Fremont East. Fremont Street is far superior to the Strip. You still have great deals, good odds, excellent restaurants (Oscars - Plaza, Andiamo - The D), live music on 3 stages every night and easy walking everywhere you go.
This was one of my favorites videos. Looking forward to the other Las Vegas videos. I agree there is so much content that you can be there for more than 3 weeks. Hope you get a ton of views and kill it on this Vegas series of “Day in the Life” episodes from Vegas. Keep them coming.
The algorithm allowed me to trip over this video, but I’m glad it did. 🔥🎬😎🎬🔥 Very unique mindset for a CEO in that industry. Definitely have to stop in there and see Jonathan next time I’m in Vegas visiting family.
As a "Downtown" Las Vegas person, I love it. Have stayed comped downtown for 20 years. Change hotels, but love to valet park the car, then go to all the casinos. The Plaza has some of my favorite machines. Have been greeted by guys in suits before. CEO, or manager, I don't know for sure, but made me feel appreciated as a patron of the Plaza. Great comps also given. Enjoyed several great comped meals at Oscar's. Met Mr. Goodman at the Gold Coast a few years ago at a special event. Also met Brian Christopher in his area, of the casino, he was impressed when I showed him one of my win/loss statements (not the Plazas), that put thru over $30,000, and only lost $199. That was the best win/loss statement of all the casinos I played in that year.
The plaza is where I’m going to stay. Just to have this gentleman to open up his casino and give the public a behind the scenes look is awesome. I’ll definitely spend my money there
I won in my days of owning a business so many customer service awards. It’s all about customer service making them feel known and appreciated. I would like to know what do you do in the way of comps for your regular players who don’t have the budget like NG, Raja if they come every day or five days a week. I think there should be special comps for people who come that often even if they don’t play $1000 to spin.
Today The Plaza is one of the best casinos in Vegas, people are always smiling, dealers are nice people, odds are better than other casinos because of the single 0 roulette, and now the CEO seams to be a very nice person. The Plaza is the Jackpot
Casual cameo from the proprietor of the Punk Rock Museum and lead singer of the legendary punk band NOFX, Fat Mike in the bloopers was an awesome surprise! Great and engaging video!
😊 Surprised the Coffee they serve at their Coffee Shop wasn't mentioned. BC Slots raves about Plaza's Coffee. This was my 1st time watching. Kudos to both you, and a very personable CEO.
Random Number generators arent truly random because they require a seed value to determine the outcome. If you can control the seed value , you can control the outcome.
Don’t be fooled he’s no gonna sellout his business there 💯 rigged but regulated to payout so much there basically scamming well paying out a percentage I worked at a casino I can see how fake this guy is from a mile away every slot machine has to pay out a certain amount daily once it does that it intakes everything there basically maximizing there prophets well giving the illusion of winners and fair play 😂😂
@@mattperil6074the machine will be set to a certain pay out or a “return to player” percentage- for example let’s say 92% will be returned to player which means in theory that if you invest $100 you should walk away with $92 (in theory). Of course, there’s variables such as a player winning the grand jackpot for $100k or a player winning nothing aka $0.00. But the point is - while the random number generator (RNG) is random in terms of what prize it chooses it’s predetermined to only allow X amount % to be won simply due to the mathematical algorithm programmed into the same. Don’t be confused as it doesn’t have a “brain” like “oh, I just paid this grand jackpot so now I can’t release anymore $$$” but rather the mathematical algorithm will make it a 100% certainty that over the course of the machines life it will only return whatever the RTP % was set to back to the player . Hence, not technically truly random.
I'm glad someone commented in regards to this. He literally says "if you set the machines too tight" the house controls the edge, they determine the odds of any non player directly influenced game
Great video and what a wonderful CEO. Never had the desire to go here other than popping my head in. This video has flipped the script for me and I appreciate you for bringing us along for the ride!
I would watch a full TV show dedicated to this casino. They made one a while back for another casino in downtown. I forget the name. But it was a lot of fun. I suppose Brian Christopher is kinda their TV show, but thats honestly more about slots and playing than it is about the casino background, the people running it, and all the day to day operations and challenges. Thats what i love to watch.
This episode is pure gold, and Jonathan, wow, what a guy! I'd love to work for someone like that, and will make sure to make my way down to the Plaza when I'm in Vegas. Thanks to you both for a great episode, and best of luck to the continued success of you both!
@@generalwasteman I'm American and live pretty close to Vegas and even I didn't know the source. It is surprising to me, when I think about it, how many Americanisms there are out there.
I've spent the last 18 years of my life working for a global hotel company and in my experience, people like Mr. Jossel are few and far between. His employees are lucky to have him as their leader and he is lucky to have employees that have remained faithful to him and The Plaza as a result of how he treats them and their guests.

Just because of this video, if I ever make it back to Vegas I’m supporting the Plaza without a doubt. This CEO seems so genuine and approachable. This goes against all stereotypes typically associated with Casinos. I’d be glad to gamble my money here. Win or lose it seems like it would be a blast!!
I absolutely love the Plaza and downtown Vegas in general! For more reason i like the plaza after this video! What a cool guy. Theres an awesome rock n roll bar with live music and delicious pizza inside the casino as well as a donut shop thats really really good! I believe they also have an outdoor carousel bar which was neat!
Sounds like a great boss. A rare breed to have somebody at the top and so down to Earth.
Super generous of Jonathan Jossel to give this amount of time out of his day, another example of why he's got a great reputation for a reason!
Jonathan seems like a good bloke..a business man but genuine. Will definitely visit if i get to the US.
Really, are you that dumb. It's all propaganda to try and get people to go to the Casino and gamble all their money away.
Do you mean selling his product like any good businessman
@@harolddodds5849 Sure, but most CEO's rely on their executives to do that for them.
Love how this bloke had the time of day for you and was so open about it all! What a great place
you understand MARKETING right...free publicity
@@g.s.5868right, but you don’t see the other GM’s clamoring to give interviews. He deserves the publicity !
An absolute fantastic insight to what is one of the most transparent CEO & Casinos in the country great job Sir & credit to Johnathon for allowing us into his casino
Well of course he will let you in, you’re not a well-known group. Haha you act like he let a monetized channel I or something 🤭
CEO has a great personality! Fun video to watch.
He seems like a nice guy
@@michaelcooper4986 lol you tools are easily susceptible....what else is he doing besides tending shop
Cool CEO. I never been to Plaza. I just might go there next time. Thanks for this nice video. 👍
Agree!! I’m a strip girl but I’ll head to plaza because of BC slots and him!
capo dei capi
my favorite place to gamble!
I'm with you on that.
I will be going to the Plaza my next visit. This CEO was very generous with With his information and time. Thank him
Did you ever think that the whole reason he was "generous" with his information and time is to elicit responses like yours?
@@ev25zv of course but he was very gracious with his staff as well. That says a lot
@@ev25zvwhat’s wrong with that? A CEO who clearly cares about his employees and his customers, as well as the town, deserves to get the business!
Thank you for sharing this story! We are also happy that we could be a part of your daughter's special day. Looking forward to welcoming you back!

An episode with Pauly C would be an amazing, he seems incredibly intelligent with LOTS of knowledge and also very entertaining personality.
We look forward to seeing you!
@@mackmck6285 But it's not too expensive and it's fun. So even if they lose they consider it an inexpensive fun time.
@@Priest_Of_Zebak Nothing he said was inaccurate. That's how slot machines work. They are random number generators. Are they "rigged" in favor of the house, yes, but so is every casino game.
Yes indeed, I feel like adding to my next holidays
I don't get to Vegas often living in Reno but this CEO runs
things with genuine sincerity.
Thanks will have to check out their podcast
What a great video! Jonathan is such a hands on CEO. I met him the first time when I won the name the showgirl at the carousel bar. It has been great seeing the improvements at the Plaza. One of my favorite properties.
What a great DITL interview. Our family has been to Downtown many times over the years. I finally wandered over to Plaza in March. Gaming was good & I won a few bucks. So much potential for that location as downtown reinvents itself starting with the addition of Circa. Bonus VPC sighting. Kudos!
Jonathan seems like a super cool CEO who stays involved in all aspects of the business.
If there is one thing I've learned about Jonathan, it's that he cares. Big or small player. Part of what I like about downtown!
Jonathan seems like quite an upstanding dude. Much respect.
Smart promotion video. Really shows off this place in positive light. Great video
Me too, looking forward to visit him our highest respect from Singapore 🇸🇬
Such a good interviewer and a good CEO makes this a very enjoyable watch!
What a breath of fresh air the CEO Was polite any true gentleman. Next time i'm in vegas, i'm gonna have to check out the plaza
Kudos to both you, and a very personable CEO.
roulette has a 4% edge towards the house. this guy is a great ceo . knows how to sell without giving away house secrets.
You just haven't seen many corporate executives
Random Number generators arent truly random because they require a seed value to determine the outcome. If you can control the seed value , you can control the outcome.
Can you explain how it works the “seed value “ I’m curious:?
@@mattperil6074in laymen terms, the seed value is the set group of numbers that the random number generator can pull from
I'm glad someone commented in regards to this.

I've spent the last 18 years of my life working for a global hotel company and in my experience, people like Mr. Jossel are few and far between. His employees are lucky to have him as their leader and he is lucky to have employees that have remained faithful to him and The Plaza as a result of how he treats them and their guests.
I usually dont hit the like button in videos here in youtube, but the fact that CEO IS EXTREMELY GENUINE MAKES ME REALLY WANT TO WORK FOR HIM AND WORK MY WAY UP TO the MANAGER LEVEL. BRINGING WHAT I KNOW TO THE TABLE AS WELL.
