Finally...something that bassheads can use to stop the rattle, weighs way way less than damping mat and can fill big gaps! Or maybe not because the extra noise might come up on the SPL meter...
It's great but there's no replacement for mass when it comes to panel resonance. I think it'd work well to fill voids in panels pretreated with butyl/foil mat, high mass barrier.

Every 3 decibels equals twice the sound you hear up or down, so if something is making a 20 decibel sound and you turned it up to 23 decibels, you'll hear twice as much as before.
That's true for the sound *energy*, but not for human perception. Perception is non-linear as well, so you need about +10dB to perceive something as "twice as loud".
@@henninghoefer Hey thats what I was saying in another reply section! Glad I'm not the only smartass posting physics information in an english-translated russian car science youtube video comment section (i mean no offence btw)
The only bummer is the voice over volume over the regular audio being much too loud (can't really change that, I get it). Couldn't really grasp the sound difference, so it somewhat spoiled this one. To hear background audio at a normal volume means blasting voiceover till your eardrums bleed. Still fun as always though.
the only bummer is that you cannot replace or repair the car very easily cause the foam is covering and attached to everything something to think about
@@FuckTheState true that but the company does that to any vehicles the customer brings in.. so imagine the mechanics that have to do the actual removal of said foam just for access to the particular part needed for removal/installment.
mayby like remove the motor mounts with the engine supported by a lift and then fill it with foam, using the foam as a motor mount and reducing the noise even more
Most people don't set out to "try" to make their cars louder. Freer flowing exhaust tends to makes more power, and a byproduct of that is usually the exhaust becoming louder.
Thanks for pointing that out. The editor dropped the ball on this one, this segment was supposed to be trimmed out. Thankfully RUclips allows editing videos when they're already live.
I just got a great idea, use a entire exhaust system, resonators and mufflers as an air intake. Can you try that? Get a car that has dual exhaust, use one side for the intake and the other for exhaust.
There's 2 reasons cars have engine covers and the hoods have insulation. To keep heat in the engine for winter time and to deaden engine noise. That's why more expensive cars have thicker insulation and better interiors.
I love your videos you got some really great ideas. To bad one thing ruins them and that is the volume of the narrator. It would be nice if we could hear the actual sound of the video itself! You dont need to sound proof your videos with insanely loud voice narration! 😉
Only if it were kept at idle and not driven. The mounts provide the reaction force for the torque that is generated at the output shaft of the trans, so it would spin itself around and rip all the hoses and wires free once its in gear and they give it gas.
Keep in mind folks that sound readings are not a linear scale.
Yep, that's a huge decrease.
Its measured logarithmically, but it feels linear
Keep in mind that any measurement of "sound" is entirely subjective
@@Clancydaenlightened That isn't true.

They did it before
Been there done that

Maybe if you make a gigantic cushions with this material to isolate all the engine from the frame... Maybe the results improve
