An apology and 5 billion dollars should just about do it.

The employer needs to pay all those lost wages and the bank also

The employer went off of official information, it was the banks fault. Has nothing to do with the employer.

Guilty until you can prove yourself innocent. That's how her workplace treated her too. Good job america, land of the free.

  • @tatj83

And her job painted her as guilty right off the bat. "You've got 72 hours (with no pay) to prove your innocent or you're outta here!"

    AND
    Her Employer!

so her job told her she was guilty with no trial or evidence or anything and told her she had 72 hours to prove she was innocent, without pay ??? i'm pretty sure this isn't how the law works, she should su all of them including her own employer.

$$$$$ sue them all. The news, the bank, the police.

    • @Teamrat

And her job. Treating her as if she's already guilty before a judge does. I would not have went back to work for that company.
Her job: "We did what we had to do for our reputation."
Me: "So am I. I resign."

stories like this really make me angry, not just for the victim but also apathy from the public. A lot of people don't seem to realize the negative impact this can have (forever), when it comes to getting a job, renting/purchasing a home, etc. People are screened heavily now (including credit checks and any reference to your name posted on the internet) when just applying for a job or renting an apartment. If you have anything negative posted online, they might just delete your application and not even tell you why.

So was she able to clear her name because, obviously, the cease and desist letter that her lawyer sent to all of these news outlets didn't work since there's no expectation of privacy on the internet?

One of the worst nightmares is to be falsely accused of something and have people believe it. The apologies never get as much publicity as the accusations so therefore large awards in a lawsuit are justified. It's the same with "no knock warrants" in which police break into the wrong house. The lawsuit warrants must be huge and people involved should lose their jobs. It's the equivalent of malpractice lawsuits in medicine.

How easy to ruin someone's life and even when they know it is not her they still air her photograph. How do these crackpots get hired? No apology cuts it and those responsible need to be fired and then reported to data protection and sued.

To the people who wrongfully accused an INNOCENT woman of bank fraud: She was cleared of all charges. Leave her alone or face serious jail time for filing a false police report against an INNOCENT person who did NOTHING wrong.

Hell no!! if that was me or anyone for that matter, I’d milk the crap out of it so I can get money. They completely screwed her over. Soo compensation and an apology should be given. She would most likely win a lawsuit against the bank if she filed
