Hey, I really appreciate it lol, I'm definitely not going to abandon the series. I already technically fully covered MHFU, and I'd like to do that with p3rd as well. Definitely planning on going all the way to Alatreon, Amatsu, Akantor, etc. Unfortunately recently I've had less time and energy to work on things, as well as the quality being MUCH higher than my MHFU videos, so it takes longer to make. But I'm definitely still working on it. I post updates in my discord every now and then. Next video should be Rathalos, then probably Barioth and Narga, then Uragaan, then the urgent. Zinogre has always been a favorite of mine since his release and remember getting shat on before beating him with SnS. I fell in love with the CB but SnS will always be my 2nd main
Yeah, Zinogre is great! SnS is a great weapon to use against him 😄 I really like SnS before 5th gen, I think, I dunno, something about 5th gen just feels so weird to me, but I've never been very good with it anyways :P Charge Blade rocks!! 😁😁
I remember being incredibly intimidated by Zinogre when I first saw him. I know his moveset pretty well by now, but he will still trounce me if I'm not careful; I guess that's the mark of a well designed monster.
the BOY in my p3rd playthrough, I did all low rank with longsword and learning zin's fight with it was really really satisfying--even if p3rd longsword made me learn stagger limits against my will so i could get a feel for when i could actually hit anything with the spirit roundslash eta: i've missed your extremely scientific diagrams. that kirin one is saved as a screenshot on my phone still
@Felixicity haha I'm glad to hear that 😆 I like making them but this one was definitely a lot less helpful than the others haha I should make more 😉 And yeah, it took me a while to realize I'm better off not hitting the monster with my combos sometimes, unless the monster is down or something, if I want to level my gauge 😩 It's a bit counter intuitive, but it's how it is. At the very least I'm not afraid to miss the first hits if it means I can more guarantee the last one will hit 🙂
8:46 It’s a good thing that the headbutt was nerfed to only trip you instead in the later gens, because if the portable 3rd headbutt still persisted, then Zinogre would’ve been unbearable to fight against.
@iroxudont Haha, unfortunately I don't know if anyone truly understands how it works >.< I couldn't find anything that I could test myself and explain for sure. I could just make up an example of "how it works" like so many other people insist on doing (it's so damn annoying lol), but that's not my style. The truth is, you kind of just need to rely on vibes, unfortunately. The first time he charges (in village quests at least) he'll do it three times, every time after that, except sometimes when he's particularly weak, he'll charge up two times. If you interrupt one where you think he was going to charge up, assume the next time he'll be fully charged. I guess there's a reason in world they made him do a back hop before charging up... because even in 5th gen there's still no reliable sign to tell what his charge level is, from what I can tell.
@@HeadHunter455 I have not yet unlock zinogre on main quest but on guild I already have it unlocked and grinded on multiple times. I am now stuck at HR2 cause of the zinogre boss ahhaha

Latent Power usually works if you take like 100% overall hp damage. It will activate when you reach that threshold. Healing your hp, and taking damage afterwards counts.
That's not true. The second part is, because it's the *only* way that you can take ~180 damage to trigger the skill. Carting will reset your damage taken towards the skill. The only time this is true is if you're at 150 health from using the hot spring, but that's not always the case, such as if you cart and lose the hot spring buff.

Hey, it just takes time! I've played the Monster Hunter games for hundreds (yeesh) of hours, and a decent chunk of that was with Longsword, so, hopefully when I use it, it's a higher quality than my usual examples 😅
I think I encountered two more attacks that's not shown here. First is double paw slam into spin (very rare occurrence, not sure if it's enraged only), and second is charge into tail slam (or spin, this I'm not sure) into back flop combo (enraged only)
His tunes did make me turn the game down, methinks someone toggled his banging music a bit too high. I believe here is where I had to partially break my rule of "no longsword" (Or I will trivialise everything) for tails/plates. I think 3rd gen has a big issue with weapons requiring things they'd otherwise have no realistic means of obtaining, TRI for instance despite having slicing ammo (its so bad it's soooo bad) has multiple bowgun parts requiring multiple tails and plates, which is just swell. Hilariously the Zinogre is where I learnt the third generation is responsible for the gauge up longsword style, I do not like that low sweep finisher one bit and my hunts were somehow worse using it for a considerable amount of time due to it's inconsistency. And for everyone, I hope you like Zinogre, because nigh all the Zinogre weapons in HR are strong as hell. 2:22 You can also perform the great might seed economy sink strategy of obtaining poop or ash from the meat cooker (reminder you can buy meat in this game without the granny dlc) and plant them for supplimentary money from the farm.

When you get so good at hunting zinogre you dont even need to run away or dodge his paw slams, just walk zigzag like a boss 😎
With Gunlance, you can just i-frame every paw slam by timing your backdash.
That would not work in 4 or 4U. This attack has much better tracking in those games.
