Started playing MHP3rd like almost a week ago after figuring out that there's a translation mod available and i just wanted to say that your weapon guide really helped me out on figuring some unexplained combos 🙏 Anyway i was wondering if there's any new tech or mechanics on LBG/HBG in this game or is it the same as MHFU?
HBG's dmg is now the same with their lbg counterpart but it has a siege mode that will let the user fire shots continuously without reloading (there's no auto reload skill in mhp3). HBG is still one of the best weapons but not nearly as broken as before. It's underwhelming on solo but it's a DPS monster on multiplayer. Most HBG ppl I see on miltiplayer uses diablazooka.
@MonzyOwO hey I'm glad you found out about the game and my videos! 😄😄 I always assumed MHP3rd was the Japanese version of MH3 actually haha, when I found out p3rd was it's own game it was a huge revelation for me 😌 There are new things for lbg and hbg, same with all of the weapons. LBG can side hop for example which is super helpful. Unfortunately, like my bow video, they'll take a bit longer for me to make because I need to go a bit more in depth about how recoil and reload speeds work, so the weapon makes sense. I see that you never use felynes/palicos/cattos. Do they add too much randomness to the hunt? What if you stuck to kitties that didn't attack and only gathered? A side question: Will you be continuing your Dark Souls guide? Or did it not do well?
Makes the monster more random and can cut down your dmg you can deal over time. I think it still depends on the weapon you are using. If you are using lance or GS, it's mostly better without them.
@lesterparedes8358 I personally don't use Felyne Comrades just to make the videos more consistent. It's easier to show what to do when the monster is attacking you, when the monster is only attacking me. So, yeah, basically, too much randomness for the consistency I'm looking for. I really do want to do more dark souls videos, but the quality of content I'm aiming for means they take quite a while to make unfortunately, and due to circumstances in my life, I'm having more trouble than I normally would. But yeah I would love to finish that series eventually, I'm really happy with how the first two ones came out. I do pay attention somewhat to how my videos perform, but it wouldn't keep me from making something I want to 🙂
@abilitiez_ hey, for the most part, the calculation is exactly the same, but yeah id like to eventually. I still need to make a ranged damage calculation for MHFU >.< It's unfortunately a lot of time and work and I don't have a whole lot of time or energy nowadays. Hopefully soon though 😄

I find it funny how you're doing so much Rising Slash > Guard Thrust > Guard Thrust. Most players tend to do Thrust > Thrust > Rising Slash in the middle gens, I feel like this is a 2nd Gen habit :3 Not knocking on you for it, just something funny to me I notice
@jennashinx6939 yeah it's 100% a 2nd gen thing lmao, I miss 2nd gen GL it's so good 🤧🤧 It's honestly kinda cool that someone can tell 😄 I'm not terribly good with GL in general, outside of 2nd gen, so I'm not too sure what the optimal rotations etc are 😅 I'm awful with using the rapid fire too, not even sure what the combo is to get into it.
@@HeadHunter455 3rd and 4th Gen Gunlance you basically prioritize Thrust Thrust Rising Slash, or you are doing Thrust Thrust Shell > Repeat for an extended combo on large openings. I notice these things because I consider Gunlance to be my hyperfixation, I watch and play an excessive amount of it across all generations and observe how the weapon is balanced across each game. 2nd and 3rd Generation Gunlances are my favorite to play personally :) The Slam and Burst Fire isn't considered very "optimal" for 3rd or 4th Generation. It works for early/mid game when Shells are still strong, but you're spending a fuckton of sharpness and leaving yourself wide open, it's an extremely taxxing maneuver that gets outpaced by lower commitment attacks once you have higher rank gear and damage. Play it if you want, it can be a nice burst of damage in tight situations but just be aware of it's effort to efficiency You can go into Slam with X > X > X (Thrust Thrust Slam) X > X+A > X (Thrust > Rising Slash > Slam) X after a Quick Reload (pressing A again after Shelling) or Guard Thrust > Rising Slash > X (Slam) And after a Slam, press A to Burst Fire all loaded Shells. Normal Shells are the best for Burst Fire because of their high ammo count, and Wide Shells actually deal 10% less damage on Burst Fire (stupid quirk imo but it is what it is)

After that I'd probably consider doing some event/challenge quests, including "Monster Hunter" But my main plan was to go to MHP3rd after finishing MHFU. After I started the p3rd guide I made the G-Rank Fatalis one, so, I'm not totally done with MHFU. I could always stream it too 😅 But yeah, my focus at the moment is on P3rd.
Hunting more than one of those (relatively) smaller monsters sometimes strikes me as more relaxing than hunting a single bigger one (Qurupeco excluded, of course... go on, call Deviljho again, you annoying parrot LOL).
