To be fair, he does have quite a few openings. It can be annoying with him flying up every few seconds, but you can be a bit more aggressive when he is in the air, if you're close enough to avoid most of his flying attacks, and hit his tail a bunch. Apart from that, you can hit him as he lands as well. It can be super annoying, I agree, but the more you get used to it the more you'll realize it's actually not that bad in this game, surprisingly.
Yow man do you have steps on how to download and play mhp3rd? I know it needs ppsspp but i somehow dont get it to appear in ppsspp (and an english ver at that) pls help
third gen volcano is my favorite in the whole series and i say this as someone who started his monster hunting journey with volcanic hollow. yeeeah, not too hard to see why. lol
i am back because i was finally able to watch the front half and not just what i caught on premier i had NO IDEA the around the world attack was in this game. i was hunting silverlos for a cap to unlock a drink quest. he flies up. it looks like he's left. i sharpen my horn, run over to gather the shiny drop, and then my soul leaves my body as i stand up and a silverlos suddenly comes careening into the cliff face next to me i'm not entirely sure how i didn't get hit. probably weird interaction with the narrowness of the space working in my favour for once still always love the way you detail the monsters moves, and love your decision to include alts for those rare drops when possible
oof haha, yeah >.< I also didn't cover a (relatively rare?) attack that he does. Apparently he does it more on other maps, maybe because there's more room in other ones, but it's the one where he flies up and lunges at you. It poisons you and stuns you. Unfortunately I'm not too sure, I haven't done a lot of hunts against SiLos just yet. I'd imagine most of the moves are the same, but the hitzones are different, and maybe some mannerisms or maybe an additional attack or two. I'll definitely go more into depth when I face him for this series later on down the line.
It's basically the same, except silos has a big aoe explosive fireball with a slightly longer windup. Also silos head is hard af unless ur using thunder LBG/HBG/bow; you have to hit its stomach, legs, or wings.

@@HeadHunter455 indeed cutting his tail was so very hard, even i was using SnS zinogre, stil is not easy, and carve his tail for farming plate is so very unlucky and so a little bit small chance like 3% or 4% for tail plate, i was remember was, i have a drink a lot drink Lucky Yogurt for have skill Lucky Cat, and so, i have a time is, i finally have a rathalos plate only one time for every quest and i fell tired for that
You definitely need to focus on the tail if you want to cut it, it can take a while and be frustrating, for sure. Something that might help you out is focus on his legs when you can't hit his tail. When he's toppled, you can ideally get a combo in on his tail before he gets back up, but you can hit him pretty consistently when he's in the air, hovering above the ground. You just gotta be close enough to avoid his other attacks that can hit you. Plate farming in low rank is brutal 😭 I did include some information later in the video about that, but to maximize your chances you want to break his head, carve his tail, and capture him, as well as picking up any shinies he drops, but since it takes so long, at least for the armor, I also included some mixed sets to use instead, so you don't have to struggle with getting a plate. If you ever go for one again, hopefully that helps 😅
They're ok, Weakness Exploit and AuM, with Fire Attack +1 (or +2 and AuS) as a bonus is honestly quite good. I'll probably be using one of the mixed sets when I fight Barioth, if only because there's not much else for options when it comes to Fire Attack skills except Rathian I 'spose, and Rathalos would just be better for damage.

You forgot the high dive attack. And you can consistently flash him by counting 2 wing flaps after the high dive or triple fireball.
He rarely ever does it.
I said in the video you shouldn't rely on flashing him too much, and you really don't even need to use flash bombs at all.

imho rathalos items aren't that relevant in this game.
