I thought this sounded like a calliope too. Harpsichords just don't enable the nuance you can get out of a piano, and sound more mechanical, like a calliope. Also the trills, making up for the lack of sustain on long notes.
Reminds me of the music you hear on an old carousel. It’s really a pretty sound. I never realized that it had the color keys the opposite of today’s keys.

@@petedeolympio7789 With 2 keyboard harpsichords, you are able to couple them and uncouple them. while they are coupled, pressing a note on the lower keyboard will play the same note on the upper keyboard. This increases the loudness and changes the tone slightly. When they are uncoupled, this aforementioned effect does not happen.
This sounds like I’m at the carnival at the beach I used to go to all the time when I was a kid. All the rides played some sort of music but the merry-go-round would always play this song on a harpsichord sounding instrument. Man. This is just nostalgic.

It's a different instrument and probably a different arangment for it.
