    Hi Everyone, I hope the info in this video has been helpful to you, I would really appreciate it if you would subscribe to the channel. If you would also like to support me in what I do below is link to the DJI Digital FPV System on the DJI Store, this is an affiliate link and by using this you are helping me continue to run my channel and keep making videos like this.
    @t
    Thank you for watching and as I said please do Subscribe, Like and Share :)
    I have released an FCC hack for this, see my other video here
    @EEyY
    I also just want to confirm some things on this I did not go into detail on in the video around CE and FCC Modes.
    The System Range DJI State upto 4km in FCC Mode and 0.7km in CE Mode, Region setting is not user selectable and is set by DJI Assistant for FPV Series automatically when you connect the system, your location is detected based on your internet connection location.
    Can I change from FCC to CE after its been set ?
    Yes, If you move to a FCC location from CE simply turn on your Goggles and Air unit and allow them to connect and display video, connect the Air unit to DJI Assistant for FPV Series and it will detect if your internet connection location is in a FCC Country and it will change to FCC Mode automatically.
    How can I tell if I am in FCC or CE ?
    FCC Mode has 8 Available channels, CE Mode has 4.
    Can I use the new DJI FPV Goggles with DJI Drones ?
    No, the new goggles are only designed to be used with the new FPV Air System only.
    Can I Use DJI FPV Goggles with Analog ?
    Yes however there is no analog receiver in the goggles and you would have to connect to an external receiver to the goggles via AV in.
    Can I use my own RC with the DJI FPV System ?
    Yes you can use your own receiver and transmitter as long as they are on different frequency’s.
    Can I manually switch between Mode 1 and Mode 2 on my DJI FPV Remote Controller?
    Yes. However, it is not recommended. By detaching the remote controller and manually switching between Mode 1 and Mode 2, you will not be covered by DJI official warranty if the remote controller were to break.DJI offer two flight modes for you to choose from when purchasing the DJI FPV Remote Controller, Mode 1 and Mode 2.
    Is the DJI FPV Air Unit compatible with third-party cameras?
    No, Only the DJI FPV Camera is compatible with the system.
    What Flight controllers are compatible with the DJI FPV System ?
    Any controllers that supports SBus and UART with MSP on Betaflight, to use the new DJI HDL 7ms RC connection you need Betaflight 4.1.0 for HDL and telemetry via the MSP Protocol.

    • @antdx316

      The worst is going 5km range and losing the TX link and the drone crashing into something worth $10M+ because we were strongly focused upon the feed quality completely neglecting the TX link.

      Hi Mad's. Thanks for this video, very helpful. I have a Mavic Pro 1 and just received a pair of DJI Goggles RE as a birthday gift. I'm interested in getting into FPV too, just for fun, not serious racing. I'll be starting with a sim. I'm very confused as to which controller and air unit to get for my RE Goggles though. Could you please advise? I need a controller that is compatible with PC Sims and my RE Goggles. Then which air unit to get for compatibility with that controller and the RE Goggles? Thanks in advance.

    @Mad RC - a correction, the FOV of the new FPV Air Goggles is not 85 degrees, rather it's adjustable from 30 to 54 degrees, per DJI's specs. The FOV is MUCH smaller feeling than the Goggles RE.

  • @savagefpv1043
    @savagefpv1043 5 лет назад +2

    Great comparison, clear and concise as usual! At the end bullet points you didn't mention the much wider FOV of RE. It's like looking at an iMAX screen vs standard theater screen. While quad racers prefers the narrower FOV, fixed wing pilots like the immersiveness of the large FOV of RE.

    Finally a proper review, I have the RE on my glider and is fantastic , my son wants the digital fpv for his quad. The only question I never had answered by anyone includingDJI : does the RE jump between 2.4 and 5.8 automatically for best signal while in flight ? I just want the best long range fpv reliability. Does the 2.4 interfere with my Taranis 2.4 therefore reducing my radio range ?

    The latency is not gone or even 'vurtually' gone. Check out reviews by actual FPV racer pilots. Most notably several by Nurk FPV. Freestyle pilots notice it less, but the over/under shoot as a characteristic if latency is still there, and it really becomes a problem at the edge of the range or when flying behind objects that affect reception, where you get a frozen image, vs momentary loss or noise in the image. I put this in the comments because it seems you a looking no further than the spec sheet, and don't dare get too nagative about DJI for obvious reasons.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  4 года назад

      Sorry but this is nonsense for starters.
      Digital is always going to be totally different to analog in the way it handles loss at extreme range.
      There are thousands of users using the FPV system daily and have zero issues with the latency overall. There are some who are still not happy with it and that’s fine but overall in flight latency in what I’m talking about it’s not noticeable now for all but the very best pilots, and even when it can be noticeable it’s not like it was with the Ocusync system.
      I have no issues calling DJI out when it’s not good enough however in the vast major fly of cases people are more than happy with it.
      The Facebook groups and forums are littered with people going all in on this system and not posts about how bad the latency is, that’s the facts of the matter, actual users postings. .

    • @ernieschatz3783
      @ernieschatz3783 4 года назад

      @@MadRC Love your objectivity. Which part is 'nonsense??' And where did I specifically knock ocusync? The latency seems to be something internal to the goggles themselves. Pro FPV racers thought it wouldn't be a problem at races where they can just plug the analogue input into the FPV feed, but that was not the case. The latency, or whatever it is, is still there, so Ocusync is not at fault. These are guys who say they would love to make the DJI their only googles, because the really like them otherwise.

    Other thoughts: The rolling shutter in the new system makes props look terrible. So if you're trying to do do "in cockpit" FPV on a plane with a traditional front mounted tractor prop, the prop in Occusync is going to look way better / more realistic.
    Since small aircraft like 1S planes, Tiny Whoops etc, are all still analog for the forseeable future, the lack of Analog Tuner in the new FPV Goggles is a real downside. Same thing with the lack of support for DJI's own aircraft in the new goggles. With the Goggles RE you can fly everything. I fly my Phantom 4, my Occusync Air planes, AND my tiny whoops / toothpics etc with analog, all with the Goggles RE.
    Also the new FPV air can't slave your own transmitter... those of us that have a radio they like, don't want to buy DJI's, but you have too if you want a control link with the new system without having to add your own receiver etc.

    Hi, Many thanks for your informative videos.
    I have a few questions regarding the original DJI Air System (not the new
    Digital FPV system unit):
    These questions are in the context of not having to use or own the White
    or Black RE Goggles but build an HD vision system for fixed wing aircraft
    and ‘slow’ multirotors.
    Firstly do you know if the original Air System is compatible for use with
    the DJI Smart Controller ?
    Secondly, a compatibility chart in one of your previous videos indicates
    that the Air System is compatible with the original Mavic controller.
    Consequently could I take the HDMI output from the Mavic controller into
    a cabled set of Goggles which accept an HDMI input ?
    (I’m thinking of the Goovis Cinego G2 goggles which I can adjust to my
    IPD etc)
    Each of the above two questions really fall into four parts:
    One for the image / potential resolution; one for OSD functionality with
    an Ardupilot FC; one for potential range and finally for aircraft control
    functionality.
    The latter not being a total must as I can continue to use TX/RX systems
    I already own. Thanks for your time and expertise.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  5 лет назад

      Hi Rise, Ok to Start
      1: I have not tested the Air system with the Smart RC my self however I believe the answer is no as its Ocusync 2 and its slightly different protocol, Its not working with the Mavic 2 Remote.
      2: The standard Mavic RC does not have HDMI output, while the Ocusync Air system is compatible with that there is no way to output.

    • @risedrone2425
      @risedrone2425 5 лет назад

      @@MadRC Many thanks for your reply Mad RC.
      So if I were to use a Mavic Pro RC with an attached device, tablet or phone, that had an HDMI output would using the Original air system with a pair of HDMI in Goggles be possible ?
      If so what do you think the potential image resolution; OSD functionality with
      an Ardupilot FC; range and finally aircraft control
      functionality would be ?
      I would be aiming for the image in the Goggles to just repeat the image seen on the tablet or phone inserted in the Mavic RC and so the above four questions apply with the Goggles not figured in the equation.
      Consequently perhaps you could answer them even if you feel that HDMI Goggles are not possible
      Your expert replies would be appreciated much. Thanks
