Hi Everyone, I hope the info in this video has been helpful to you, I would really appreciate it if you would subscribe to the channel. If you would also like to support me in what I do below is link to the DJI Digital FPV System on the DJI Store, this is an affiliate link and by using this you are helping me continue to run my channel and keep making videos like this. click.dji.com/ALwcdoCMalut8lJpGkIA9w?pm=link&as=0001 Thank you for watching and as I said please do Subscribe, Like and Share :) I have released an FCC hack for this, see my other video here ruclips.net/video/u0e0mB6EEyY/видео.html I also just want to confirm some things on this I did not go into detail on in the video around CE and FCC Modes. The System Range DJI State upto 4km in FCC Mode and 0.7km in CE Mode, Region setting is not user selectable and is set by DJI Assistant for FPV Series automatically when you connect the system, your location is detected based on your internet connection location. Can I change from FCC to CE after its been set ? Yes, If you move to a FCC location from CE simply turn on your Goggles and Air unit and allow them to connect and display video, connect the Air unit to DJI Assistant for FPV Series and it will detect if your internet connection location is in a FCC Country and it will change to FCC Mode automatically. How can I tell if I am in FCC or CE ? FCC Mode has 8 Available channels, CE Mode has 4. Can I use the new DJI FPV Goggles with DJI Drones ? No, the new goggles are only designed to be used with the new FPV Air System only. Can I Use DJI FPV Goggles with Analog ? Yes however there is no analog receiver in the goggles and you would have to connect to an external receiver to the goggles via AV in. Can I use my own RC with the DJI FPV System ? Yes you can use your own receiver and transmitter as long as they are on different frequency’s. Can I manually switch between Mode 1 and Mode 2 on my DJI FPV Remote Controller? Yes. However, it is not recommended. By detaching the remote controller and manually switching between Mode 1 and Mode 2, you will not be covered by DJI official warranty if the remote controller were to break.DJI offer two flight modes for you to choose from when purchasing the DJI FPV Remote Controller, Mode 1 and Mode 2. Is the DJI FPV Air Unit compatible with third-party cameras? No, Only the DJI FPV Camera is compatible with the system. What Flight controllers are compatible with the DJI FPV System ? Any controllers that supports SBus and UART with MSP on Betaflight, to use the new DJI HDL 7ms RC connection you need Betaflight 4.1.0 for HDL and telemetry via the MSP Protocol.
The activation is a 1 time thing right? Does it have internal clock battery that will prompt you to reactivate after a certain no of days and or update to a new fw?
Hello Mads Tech, thanks so much for putting out this video, I couldn’t find any good or useful info. on all the goggle menu options until I found your video, I too k 3 pages of notes writing down all the important options. The only one I’m not completely understanding is the POWER LIMIT, I’m just concerned that if I’m in the middle of a flight and the unit gets hot, will it just shutdown and leave me blind? If you could explain that function just a bit more I’d really appreciate it. Thanks again.
No it will never fully shut down unless it’s literally on fire. It simply reduces output or allow it to cool. We have had many years of use of this now and it’s not something you even need to be concerned with. It’s main goal is to stop overheating while on the ground.
I'm very interested in the RC settings mode. Instead of diving into BF, it appears you can do it ALL in the goggles! Is that the case?? If so, can you do a more detailed dive into those settings?
It’s basically communicating with Betaflight so there are none in the RC it’s self and it’s all setting the BF controls via the goggles menus. Great idea for a video thanks.
i'm getting a problem with my new setup where I cant get any signal to the goggles unless i'm literally 6 inches away from the drone. what would cause this SUPER weak signal??
Mad RC Do we need the DJI remote controller in order to change PIDs and Rates etc via the DJI goggles? Or can we change them when using a Taranis and the DJI goggles?
i just got the setup and connected it to my quad. everything works but it only shows 1 bar of signal when the quad is right beside me. when i walk like 5 meters away, the connection totally breaks off. does anybody know what's wrong? The antennas are plugged in..
Really good and detailed review. Is it possible to get the full 4 kilometer range if a unit is purchased and registered in the UK, but flown in the US on a trip there, or is it permanently locked to the CE 0.7 kilometre range?
After connecting the goggles to the air unit and then connecting the transmitter, the goggles cannot be used when connecting to the air unit. Do you know the cause?
I heard we don't have to buy the full system. What should DJI fpv component or components should I buy if the only things I am missing are vtx, fpv goggles and antenna? You said it's compatible with most flight controllers. My flight controller is HyperLite F4 OSD. Will it work?
H i Mad RC, I have a question, if you have more than 1 air unit , will the DJI Goggles automatically connect to the one that you have turned on, assuming that the air units have been bind with the Goggles
@@MadRC thanks ... I do have FuriousFPV dock king with good video module ... to have the video in good oled screen like Fatshark HDO is tempting as output it to new DJI goggle
Hi. Great video, very well made . I've got the dji fpv system and wanted to reverse a channel on my remote. I've got the system on a fixed wing aircraft, not a quad. I dont want to reverse the channel thru betaflight or inav. I need to reverse the elevator channel on the remote without connecting to a computer. Is it possible to revearse a channel thru the goggles?
thank you for a very in depth video. one question. when the system is in CE version can you change the power up 700mw? and get the range of 4km without the hack.
The DJI FPV Goggles systems is pretty easy to setup. But I’ve heard of a few issues, so just to be sure I’ve created this walkthrough of all the steps required to register the system then how to bind the DJI FPV Goggles and the DJI Remote to the DJI FPV Air module. Then my first impression upon seeing it the first time.
the variable latency that stingerswarm documented is a complete deal killer for me. (over 300ms) even highish latency can be tolerable, but only if it is consistent.
Inav works for SBUS and basic Telem like pack voltage via MSP. You can also see the rate and PID settings via the goggles however you can not change them like in BF.
Goggles RE display is capable of 1080p however with the Air system resolution was much less and 480p was the main resolution with OK latency but still way more than this. . The Digital System will do 720p at 120fps down to 28ms. So is higher in real world usage.
Thanks for sorting out the misunderstandings about 25mW EU and 700mw for everyone else, don't feel like buying a € 1100 system and then, with some luck, deceiving DJI with a VPN address, possible or not? Like buying a new BMW ..... to find that it is restricted to 60mph.
E. Malkin I’m assuming there’s a GPS receiver in the googles or flight receiver simply to determine the location in the world the goggles are being used so the FCC or CE restrictions (by law)can be applied. So if you took the googles and flight receiver to USA you would get a range of 4km! Only 0.7 km in EU/UK
The problem is the latency its horrible on this system and the range the further you go the worse it gets . I wouldnt take this for free look at all the videos on it it done already this was dji last attempt
Have you actually used the system ? Yes with all systems latency can change with digital however I would base opinion on what you have actually used and not what people think.

Im 1 year late, perhaps it still helps you. You can change it up to 1200mw altought its illegal. 700mw is also switchable and its super easy.

Yes via USB C and it should have one in the pack.

What is about Quad onboard Audio? I see no chance to get the live Audio from the Aircraft to a Headphone with this system.
