The DJI Racing Edition Goggles are a great option for someone that wants one set of goggles to use with their DJI Mavic or Spark and wants to fly racing drones also. They are very versatile with the analog receiver. Some of the decision DJI made for this are a little odd, like the left hand polarized antenna, but as long as you know that going in they work really well. In this video I unbox the DJI RE Goggles, go through the setup of DJI Assistant V2, show the menus and settings on the goggles and then test the analog receiver flying inside.

The experience with Mavic will be totally different. That is a digital connection. In this video I am testing the analog functionality. I have not yet gotten to try these on my mavic due to the weather.

Good description for start up / Thinking of buying a set
THANK YOU ! Your reviews are CRITICAL ! I have the white ones, and when these came out it was a must have. The sensation is more like watching a huge flat-screen TV than wearing goggles ...You didn't mention the backpack ? I had an issue with the flat dipole antenna for the air module ..be careful the connection does not break ! Now I will wait till you get done with the review and installation. Actually silly if you have a Mavic cause you already get amazing long range and 30 min battery and honestly if you are heading cross-country you probably are not planning to do acrobatics so the Mavic is the way to go...the limiting factor for the air module on a racing style kwaud will be BATTERIES ! What good is 7 km when you only have 10 min battery range ? BUT these are amazing toys and we are Big Boys so why not have maximum FUN ! THESE ARE MAXIMUM FUN !!
"my pain can be your gain"
brilliant - not heard before and finally in the end I got behind that the footage was analog only cause I could not understand why it looked so worse, but with the last minute appearance of the copter with ocusync unit it was clear that this had been a pure analog comparison. Also might have missed the point of explanation. Great stuff - I mean beyond this topic cause I have already checked a lot more of your videos that also had helped me like R9 versus Crossfire and then the whole FrSky - Jumper T16 - Radiomaster journey.
I might have missed the channel due to my searches cause I had always ocusync with inav on my mind.
Great stuff, great content ... and review cause you mentioned all the points for people that need to wear glasses.
Thanks for making this video - well done! Can’t wait to see your video with the DJI camera.
Ive got the Mavix Zoom I was lucky Ted's camera store had 1 pair in Brisbane Gold Coast Ted's got it for me last week and I tell you it's really Awesome . They stopped making these I say they are better than the new styles goggles . Cheers
The ocusync is awesome. The quality is great too
I can’t wait to try them on the Mavic.
DroneRacer101 stick ‘er in sports mode and do a bit of racing. If someone does that fair play to them, I would never do that with my mavic
I like how it says it supports NAZE in the manual. Like I am going to hook my brand new $70 transmitter/receiver up to my $5 ancient FC.
Especially since you have to have sbus and a spare uart for telemetry.
Great review with one exception. The analogue FPV portion of these goggles is an 'also ran.' I get a wide, vertical green line down the center of the view and heavy flickering making it unusable for analogue video. It happens when you're actually receiving a signal from a transmitting drone. This problem is wide-spead among users, so I don't no why it's not making it into reviews by vloggers. If DJI is marketing these goggles as an all-in-one, that's a big fail.
I like your review of these goggles 👍🏼 This set would fit me perfect, but not the price. I wish they where cheaper.
Marry christmas / happy holliday 🎁
Great videos! You always have my attention the whole time.
Nice, these look pretty decent, better than I was expecting.
Very good and informative review.
Thanks for your video.. can you confirm the racing edition goggles do indeed have an hdmi port that does allow you to input third party hd video please as now I’ve purchased them after they confirmed they did before purchasing they are now saying the re edition do not do this (can’t watch movies, tv, play games etc on the goggles like you can with the regular goggles).. greatly appreciate your feedback on this-thank you!
I think that charger is basically the DJI version of QuickCharge. I wonder if it is compatible with normal QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 charges.
I’m an apple guy so I don’t know of these things. :-) But for the goggles I will say I used them A LOT yesterday and they never got below 75%
More indoor race quad review and tutorials plss
The antennas see very interesting
could I feed this an analogue signal out of Clearview receiver, for the ultimate in non-HD flying? The reason I ask, is that we want to try these in an indoor environment with many users, so the diversity and Clearview are important.
Nice to see ET100 after some time. Now I remembered how you liked this drone in your snow winter videos. :) I hope you still have it. I was curious what Goggles RE are, cos you mention them on Patreon. :)
Still have that one. Want to try it in the rain sometime. I’m not sure it it will handle that as well as the snow. Doing some testing with the RE still more soonish”
Subscribed just because of your up coming air unit video. I'm very interested in how you wired them up to your quad. The DJI support video didn't get too in depth on wiring to FC's
Editing now!
Me too! I just received the RE Goggles and OcuSync Air kit that has minimal info. Why the Pagoda pair (5.8Ghz fixed) and also the Cylindrical pair (dual-frequency)? Looking forward to your review! Subbed!
There is some explanation here forum.dji.com/thread-121346-1-1.html At least it explains the modes and antenna usage. Automatic mode would use the dual-frequency Cylindrical or Linear antennas, Manual mode can choose between 5.8Gh and 2.4Ghz so if you picked just 5.8Ghz mode you can run the twin Pagoda 5.8Ghz fixed frequency antennas. Still not much on how to use the Receiver system, or how to change modes on the Air module itself (I assume through the goggles) Not able to get my RE Goggles and Air kit system running due to travel.

Wow that price tag i huge.
I have dji racing and also the dji occusync camera kit ,,
But i want then i attack the camera to a boat ,
Is to look real time thru googles and an iPad Pro screen at the same time
what do ur flight times look like? im running a 2s 800mah on my et 125 and i still only get minutes if i just hover any flips its gone in 30 seconds... what can i do to extend the duration of my flights per battery i mean im looking for like a 6 minute flight time..
thanks for any info you can provide, god-speed,

What 5.8 ... still watching🤔
Off topic question drone racer 101.. do you recomend e011 with beta fpv camera or e010c? which one is better?
and also what protocol/module you need to bind them to flysky i6?
can they be used for other fpv race drones?
So RC Antenna work on the Goggles?
I am not seeing the flight modes on in my RE goggles; I only see Tapfly. Do you know what is going on with that? So frustrating.
thank you.
what adapter do you need to use a normal Right Hand Antenna?
Are these goggles still the best option to use with the Mavic Pro Platinum as well as other drones/fixed wing/etc?
Fof the Mavic? Yes. These are the goggles to have because they are the only ones that will work. But for racing quads and wings you are better off with the new DJI system. DJI Digital FPV Goggles System Review - Flight Testing and Analog Comparison
ruclips.net/video/RFH86rBhHbg/видео.html
DroneRacer101 Thanks! Great video of the flight test. The FPV's are impressive. I will probably end up with the RE and those eventually. :)
I'm afraid to move anything right now. Moves it.
I’m a dad. Thats how we roll.
How is the light leakage? I wear glasses also and once you can try them outside and if they are comfy with glasses don't leak a lot of light I might have to look at these seriously.
It was ok. When I first put them on I noticed it. But once it the air I didn’t notice any light. Better than any box goggles I have used. But not total blockage like the Fatshark style.
🤗 air mod can't wait
Soon. :-)
The Amazon antenna adapter you listed is currently n/a. Here’s one I ordered today - www.americanradiosupply.com/rp-sma-female-to-sma-female-coaxial-adapter-connector/
Just in case that link doesn’t work here is the American Radio Supply part # SKU:ARS-H502 AND antenna I’m goin to try out: www.getfpv.com/truerc-5-8ghz-x-air-antenna-rhcp.html -> TrueRC 5.8GHz X²-AIR Antenna RHCP
Do you still like these goggles? I have a spark and I'm thinking of getting these. Thanks!
I do. I don’t use them with my FPV racing drones, but I LOVE them with my Mavic 2. I haven’t used them with my Spark.
@@SimRacer101 Why not use them with your spark? Lots of people have made spark videos but none using them with these goggles...I can't be the only one interested in these that owns a spark. Thanks!
You have to plug them into the remote with the spark. But really it’s just a matter of since getting the Mavic 2 I don’t use the Spark much.
@@SimRacer101 what is the maximum range u get with these goggles on Mavic 2?
So DJI's antennas are somewhat proprietary?
I’ve at least never seen any quite like them.
That sucks... I can't believe DJI are trying to cash in, on the open source nature FOV market, and making all the products some proprietary BS
You can get some sma adaptor.
I honestly don’t thing that is it. I think they are trying to make it fool proof. People can’t just hook up the wrong antenna people they are new and don’t understand antennas yet. And this way they are sure to match. But I think my going with LHP there are going to be people really unhappy when they try to fly a quad with a RHP antenna and don’t know what is wrong. If only someone would make a video explaining it...
In DJI's FAQs page:
"WHEN USING GOGGLES RE TO RECEIVE ANALOG VIDEO TRANSMISSION, CAN I USE ANTENNAS OTHER THAN THE OFFICIAL DJI PAGODA ANTENNA?
No. In many countries, local laws and regulations do not allow unofficial antennas to be used."
15:02 , is the flight footage not synced up with your voice?
Yea it did. My laptop was working on overload and something got out of sync.
Can i hook up my iPad 12 inch pro to googles ,,so others can view what im seeing in my googles as i fly
Yes.
Are the Pagoda Antennas LHCP RP-SMA, right?
They are LHCP and it is an RP-SMA female connection on the antenna. So if you want to put your own antenna on the goggles you will probably need a set of these. geni.us/GoggleREAntennaAdapter
Recordception.
I want to win this so much. Mu old drone is defect so I need a new one
I want them soooooo bad but cost way 2 much!!!
Focus-Fixers are compatible with the new Racing Edition Goggles! If your far-sighted these are a great solution. www.focus-fixers.com
Oh good to know. I just got new glasses today. I’m curious how they are going to be with bifocals. 😭
irritating music
Good description
Worst goggles ever. I just bought the air system because I can't afford the new fpv system. The occusync video aint all that. The goggles are great for the mavic of course.
$600 bucks, rediculous, can't believe these cost more than 100 to make...
As long as DJI stays number 1 I think they will charge whatever they want. These are made for a very specific group of people.
