In this clip, Del the Funky Homosapien discussed his past use of psychedelic drugs. He detailed how taking a drug awareness class early on in life informed his choice about what drugs were okay to indulge in and which were not. Del also tied his interest in psychedelics to his area of origin, the Bay, and their counterculture roots which held psychedelics in high regard. He went on to talk about how that particular drug use influenced his second album.
Del also went into detail about the epic Bay Area battle between Hobo Junction and the Hieroglyphics. He said he removed himself from the beef because he just didn't believe in it. The battle spilled over into the streets, resulting in physical altercations and a shootout.
For those that don't know, Saafir is cousin Harold from Menace II Society.

I️ appreciate his honest critique about his own body of work. His style did change early in his career. He’s secure enough to see admit that it affected his following to some degree.
I absolutely loved Del ... I loved the vibe of The Bay when I lived there ... Del and all of Hiero was ahead of their time...Del don’t think to hard be decisive so you can bless the people with your wisdom✌🏽

Del rolled through my town up in Canada back in 07 and did 90 minutes of pure cosmic funk boom bap amazingness. He played all his gems from the various stages in his diverse career. Hip Hop Head Heaven yo, I was trippin. But I hope there are more parts to this interview cause Vlad never asked about the making of the Hieroglyphics magnum opus, Third Eye Vision. That album was a game changer for me personally back in high school and no doubt one of the greatest Hip Hop records ever made. Nevertheless, Del was mad nice, is mad nice and will always be mad nice on whatever project he's doin. Truly one of the greats on the mic with a style all his own and a huge influence for me. This is my fav Vlad vid yet, good job V. Peace Del, stay blessed.
