He also revealed that he’s a comic book fan. The Gorillaz and Anime are some of his favorite types of animation.

The first two Gorillaz albums were huge when we were in school and the guest spots on those albums were what introduced a lot of people around my age to Del and DOOM. I had never heard of Del before Clint Eastwood and now I'm a huge fan.
I'm in that age range,never really cared about the Gorillaz,and found Del through THPS,found DOOM and Kool Keith through youtube.
I saw him play in the early 2000's in London, Ontario. After a few songs he asks the crowd, "who likes nintendo?" crowd goes wild.. he then asks "who likes sega" crowd boos.. he gets furious says "yall dont like sega?" "Fuck yall then" does a song or two and ends the show early... lol

I actually met him in Albuquerque and he was incredibly down to earth. Signed my skateboard even though security wasn't happy about it, and he was like "hold up I was just on my board before the show"

Funniest thing is that I work in the music industry...been in it since 1996. I remember reaching out to Del's folks about a bunch of money he had sitting for him for the "Clint Eastwood" record and they had no clue it had generated so much paper. Dope interview here.

Gotta say glade he jumped on it cause back in the day it was hard to find low key rappers; I bought the Gorillaz album just cause of his verses to find out his name.
Same kinda. I knew Del already and i heard Clint Eastwood but it didn't click until i looked up who rapped that part and that made me like him even more. Cause at first i thought it was just someone who sounded like him.
Knowing that Del kinda just said "fuck it, I'll write something for it" says to me he wasn't really throwing his best stuff down. And let me tell you, if that's not Del's best shit, he is ine of the greatest rappers of all time. Cause his verses on that song are fucking insanely good. Fucking legend. I specifically looked up Clint Eastwood on Wikipedia to find out who did the rap parts. Loved it since it was released. The dude's voice in an of itself is just so smooth ad pleasent to listen to. I'm not even big on the rap genre in general, but what he did in that song was straight perfection. Hopefully I'll find some other stuff he's made. That voice better not have gone unutilized >:(

The way Del speaks about the music and art industry in such a frank and open way without ultra narrativizing it is super respectable, and I think gives genuine insight into the process behind these pieces.
The fact that Kanye gets called a genius by people who don't even know that Del exists, is proof that we aren't ready for the aliens...

some friends and i met del at a skate demo in simi valley in like 2008. he was rapping while p-rod and ryan sheckler we skating, after his set he just chilled for the rest of the demo. we said hello and he gave us his time and chatted with us. incredibly gracious and cool dude

My world just got rocked. I knew 'If you must' from Tony Hawk Pro Skater, vaguely remembered the artists name. It popped in my head so I looked it up. Now I find out he did 'mistabobalina' and the best part of the song that was CONSTANTLY in my head as a teen and still, to this very day, I regularly sing the verses in my head. This is wild. I'm off to see what Deltron is all about.

wow, I remember when I first saw the music video & heard the song over 20 years ago, I was mesmerised & from then on I had to rewatch the video every now & then & get the mp3 & put it in my collection as well as get a few Gorillaz albums & find out who the rapper was....both the video & song are masterpieces....I'm glad I was able to find out the story behind the making of the song/video....Del makes it look so easy, man spit one of the greatest verses ever after creating it in about half an hour
