Top 10 Warcraft Villain Deaths
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 6 июл 2024
- There are 2 rules for this video. First, the villain must actually die at the end of the encounter, not escape or live with low health. Second, as a more general rule, the more dramatic the death, the higher up on the list it goes.

Having started playing in Wrath Arthas’s death had so much build up and they did not drop the ball at all, but man AU Gul’dan’s death left my jaw on the floor. Great choices for 1 & 2
As a super casual player who doesn’t do much raiding, I always love watching these videos to get a peek at what I’m missing!
Definitely recommend going back and running them on high difficulty. I also don't raid, but this has become my Friday nights with my buddies.
The Illidan/Gul'dan cinematic from Legion still gives me goosebumps.
that was the best thing ever. legion is tied for my second favorite expansion and illidan is a big reason why.
05:45
Illidan was not the dude who found the skull, it was already being used by the legion to power a portal and Arthas traveled from Lordaeron to Felwood to tell Illidan about the skull, thus corrupting him to the more half demon demon slayer we know and love
Yeah, it also played a role in the shattering of outland in the WCII expansion
Just as you said. What Illidan found in the Tomb was the Eye of Sargeras
This is also the guy who can't pronounce the word "scourge" correctly, regardless of how many times the word is used and heard in game. I'm starting to question if he even plays
@@Deft002 He intentionally mispronounces words for engagement. The more you put it out the more algorithm sees activity and boosts the video. He probably has more hours than you.
@@Hurtydwarf So he's a manipulative bastard just like Blizzard, how disappointing.
I wouldve put Saurfang jr on the list, pretty dramatic lots of lore implications. But overall worth the subscription to watch it
oh shoot that is a really good one
Why does it say that your comment was from 4 days ago when the video was only released an hour ago today?
@@-tfy-8453 early release for channel members? Or maybe a reupload?
@@-tfy-8453 It was exclusive for members.
Agreed
I was just re-watching Garrosh's Shadowlands death cutscene earlier, what a coincidence! I honestly think Garrosh's death should've been at least higher than Deathwing's if not the highest. Although the animation wasn't that good, the dialogue was reeeeeaaaaally badass.
He was the real warchief
@@sampoakarI remember being so stoked to take him down in MoP, but I love how as time has gone on we all miss him lol. At least he had guts
Kinda surprised Elisande isn't on here. The fight with her is the climax of the whole Suramar story, one of the best storylines and zones in all of WoW's history that pretty much everyone was really interested in. Her fight was really memorable, especially with the whole time manipulation mechanics; and she does indeed die at the end of the fight, with just a temporal echo of her remaining just long enough to bestow upon the champions of Azeroth a small measure of her temporal prowess to empower us to defeat Gul'dan. (and said echo even renounces her allegiance to the Legion because the champions have brought about a future timeline that she had never even thought possible even though she had scried thousands of possible future timelines)
This is true.
I've never met a single player who enjoyed Suramar or cared about the story that much.
@@vilegoblin wth i truly enjoyed Suramar ... i loved how it progressed from meeting 1 crackhead into joining a rebellion and watching the city slowly change, and finally being able to enter the raid to put an end to it all. I've never met someone who disliked Suramar
@@Jas2davir there were some enjoyable quests, but the frustrations of entering the city every day for dailies tied into jumping on fruits nonstop for weeks on end didn't resonate well with anyone I was playing the game with nor our guildies. Everyone was relieved once Suramar was over.
lore wise it’s great but thematically, it’s quite a lackluster encounter. ofc everything is subjective, but compare it to Star Augur Etraeus - where so much happens & the room changes as the fight progresses. imo they could’ve done more with Elisande, but not upset at what we got.
It's funny that Gul'dan is powerful enough to raise a fallen temple from the ocean floor but cant defend himself against some demons
one could argue that Gul'dan was exhausted after raising the islands. Also, if remember that WC3 mission correctly, the evil aura presence was making his orcs mad to a point where this killed each other, probably weaken Gul'dan as well.
I'll be honest they might bring Guldan back with the ambiguous death
Without Garrosh, Gul'Dan & Arthas nothing has a meaning anymore. They really, really worked as Villains thanks to their strong character development.
How interesting that you didn't mention his end in Shadowlands as an anima, but it would be like adding *salt to the wound* , and I appreciate that you didn't get further from the top 1 on your list.
good video.
Gul'dan twice? Had a free space for Houndmaster Braun when his dogs ate him and he was all "What? No, no! Stop! Obey your master!" That's the one I always remember.
Good video.
Good list! What do you think about Majordomo Executus? Being scared by players and then killed by his boss is a fun one. :)
Having played the crap out of WC3 and Arthas being my favourite character, it pleases me to see him at #1.
Although he's not a villain in my eyes General Nazgrim's death was another sad one. He watched as we grew into the heroes we were only to be slain by us on the battlefield because of opposing values.
Coming from this video, I'd like to suggest a Top 10 most influencial character list but ranked in the weight of their lies they told to achieve their goal. (Odyn has to make it surely)
I would have been quite upset if anyone other than Arthas had been at the top of this list. Well done!
Illidan didn’t find the skull of Gul’dan in Broken Isles. On the contrary, it was the memories from the skull that brought him to the Isles.
The skull is one of the most iconic items in early Warcraft. Remember the cinematic from WCII where Khadgar closes the Dark Portal from the Outland side, holding skull in his hand? It was Gul’dan’s skull!
To earn it, Khadgar had to defeat Deathwing himself, who took it (and the Book of Medivh) from Ner’Zhul as a trophey. Deathwing was aiding Ner’zhul at the time, which is how Netherdrakes appeared in Outland.
And then, after Dreanor is gone, the Skull all of a sudden reappears in Felwood, serving as a sole source of corruption there. Illidan is persuades to get the Skull by no other than Arthas (!), who quietly rebels against the Legion at the time, and decides to devour its power, becoming a winged and hoofted and horned half-demon we know and love.
And then the Skull appears in the Burning Crusade ‘You are not prepared!’ cinematic.
What a legendary item, man.
Great Video!
Idk if anyone’s mentioned this, but as a cool fun fact, that dungeon isn’t the last place you can see Varo’Then! He appears as a killable rare ghost in the Azshara zone, in both regular and Classic. Honestly, it’s a little eerie that he’s not only still around after thousands of years, but is a featureless ghost model. Seems maybe his spirit has been lingering restlessly for so long he’s forgotten himself…
Gul'daniel can't die enough. I wouldn't complain if we get to kill him again
Varo’then is a PoV character throughout the war of the ancients novels. Kind of the villain perspective honestly. I remember him fondly. Almost as well as I remember Peroth’arn aka the second Satyr
Raiding Mythic Nighthold to encounter such a badass secret last phase and to witness the most badass cutscene back in the day was totally worth it. Satisfaction 100% for getting a grasp on Gul'Dan after Chasing him throughout the entirety of WoD
Just letting you know you made an error with Kil’Jaeden's timestamp. Awesome list btw
Cool video, but you got the part about kil'jaeden and the lich kings creation wrong
Garrosh being an absolute chad even in the afterlife.
*frees himself by getting super angry*
*doesn't regret anything that he did, would do them again*
*doesn't elaborate further*
*kills some Jailer's simp*
*dissapears from existence*
Should have mentioned how you can see Gul’dan’s skeleton in the Tomb of sargeras raid and transform into him!
The Old Gods were all confirmed dead at Blizzcon this year.
Reasons why Legion is my favorite expansion:
1. It was the first time I truly reached end game and played with my alot of friends
2. The class order halls were fun and had alot of flavour
3. AP farm was tedious but running around with Doomhammer was worth it imo
4. Return of Illidan who got some amazing moments and a satisfying ending (don't bring him back blizz please)
5. Demon Hunter is one of the most fun classes in the game
6. The story was great both as a Alliance and Horde player (Death of Vol'jin and Varian gave us great reason to hate Gul'Dan more)
When he does a video for hero or ally deaths i know ysera is top 5
Great Video! I'm thankfull the death of Arthas was on the WotLK and not the "shadowlands end"(where he becomes a fart of anima) and how dramatic and impacfull it was.
You could put on this list some honorable mentions like Kael'Thas( the Sunwell version) and N'zoth.
The 1st because like Arthas, he is a key character who become a villain because of a x3nophobic Garithos and a sunwell addiction lead to follow Illidan, then he become fully adicted to fel power and become a Legion's Agent.
While the Second was a Old God who we kill it and it's responsible for many corruption we see through the years of playing WoW.
Yet, it's a great list!
Given the topic at hand I would've suspected AU Gul'dan to occupy the #1 slot. But I'm never going to argue against Arthas the LK being numero uno given the reasons you laid out in the video.
Frostmourne hungers
What about Saurfang from ICC ? I don't know if we can count him as a villain, but man it's always tears me up everytime I read his lore.
"And remember, no-one's ever really gone"
Shadowlands-Garrosh would like to introduce himself
Not surprised at all makes sense
But hiru, where is Fyrrak's death? It was so epic I can't even remember it.
Now you can make top bosses that became enemies more than once. Like Kiljaeden or poor Onyxia. By amount of times or by impact is up to you)
Arthas's Death really hits me and my Dad's to the core of our very beings... Because after all, we both played 'Human' avatar for very long time.
There's also the death of Sindragosa's son, that fight was really sad
I remember CE Nighthold progression and Gul'dan fight. One of the best memories. It was an amazing boss fight. Fuck titanforging though!
Mannoroth's death in WarCraft III I would have included. Great video!
Illidan did not find the skull of Gul'dan in search of the eye of Sargeras. in Warcraft 3 Arthas is the one who tips off Illidan about the whereabouts of the skull (around the place Felwood is now) how it got there is a question of it's own. He started the pursuit for the eye after being encountered by Kil'Jaeden who tasked him with getting rid of the Lich King
Illidan did not find the Skull of Gul'dan in the tomb. It was being used by Tichondrius to power demon portals in Felwood. Illidan found the Eye of Sargeras in the tomb, long after he had consumed the Skull of Gul'dan's powers.
Didn't Illidan claimed the skull of Guldan in Ashenvail? And not founded in the temple?
Damn, where is that Dragon Soul animation from?! Looks cool as hell!
That's from "Legacies" part two. One of the animated shorts made in the run up for Dragonflight.
They make these for every expansion since Mists of Pandaria
Burdens of Shaohao, Lords of War, Harbingers, Warbringers, Afterlives and Legacies
@@Henrikstinker Thank you. Very familiar with the other ones, but since DFL has been so 'meh', I must've missed that one.
I didn't even know there was a Well of Eternity dungeon.
the most sad part is. We learn on so many occasion Arthas was neither in controle of his body and mind. And learn what he stopped (Zoval) from comming to azeroth as well his attempt with ner'zhul in controle to stop the old gods for azeroth in sacrifice of all life.
these animations remind me of spirit science
Garrosh 2nd death In shadowlands was epic as well
God willing there's a raid in the future that lets you take down Medivh with Khadgar and Gorona. That would most definitely be on this list
Ragnaros in Firelands was pretty dope too.
My boy Zuni.
garrosh better be number one, my man got the hardest death cutscene in the game TWICE
5:35 there is a warcraft 2 cinematic for guldans death
I mok’gora was specifically supposed to not include magic as it’s a test of strength and honor
Can't believe you did not include Zovaal at number 0 spot (the most influencial and important villain of all time).
You forgot to mention that The jailer was behind EVERYTHING.
I like to imagine illidan could of immediately killed guldan if he was freed before the fight. Just able to pop out of the cell, and instantly disenchant guldan
It's weird that you liked OG WCII Guldan's story enough to put him on the list but didn't point out that his skull is one of the artifacts that closes the dark portal in the WCII expansion, long before Illidan.
i cant believe the ogre from dead mines isnt in this video tsk tsk
Don't the players kill Aggramar as their first titan? (Even though it is only one boss before Argus)
The scourge of Elwyn Forest HOGGER
Dont you die in the Lich King fight also?
I knew it was going to be Lich King before I started this video.😂
No one's ever REALLY gone 🥲
I'm surprised Illidan didn't make this list because he does die at the end of BC and they preserve his body. Thanks to his demon infused soul he's able to revive later through the twisting nether
Surprised Varian isn’t here.
I was wondering who would be #1, but when it was named Arthas, I was like.. of course.
Arthas' death becomes even more tragic when you take into account shadowlands. Seeing how the arbiter did her job untill Argus, that means Arthas had been yeeted into the Maw for several decades depending on how much time past, tortured over and over before being reforged into yet another soulblade to the point where his soul doesn't even get the chance to be redeemed or restored, it just gets destroyed after being freed.
Shadowlands isn't canon 😉
@@happyarthas4955 Seeing how they're using Ysera and everything tied to it with the elves and the tree, I doubt that
Illidan did not find the skull in the tomb, he stole it from Tichondrius in Felwood. it changed hands several times before then.
Thats strange, this list has 9 villains deaths and one hero's.
I think Grom vs Manneroth is pretty cool
Dranosh Saurfang would have been an honorable mention! Saurfang coming to collect his body...😢
Is this guy the guy who makes Yu-Gi-Oh content?
Why was I not surprised at who the #1 spot was.. 😂
Current lore is calling the well of eternity in question fyi.
Bro you make WoW videos, how can you not pronounce the word "scourge" correctly?
Im missing Kel’thuzad here 😁
I understand why everything on this list is placed where it is, but no one will convince me that Garrosh's SL death wasn't the sickest fucking way anyone has gone out in the warcraft franchise. Absolute CHAD till the very end.
I didn't even know Gul'dan's death was so... uneventful ^^ For how much impact he has on the lore, being slain by some random demon in the tomb is quite disappointing!
I read the novel of Warcraft 2 and it was pretty cool moment. Only minor demons had invaded recently so Guldan going into the Tomb of Sargeras and encountering one was neat. He also got his comeuppance for abandoning the Horde by not dying in a super dramatic way :D
I would honestly give the second death of Varok Saurfang a spot. For two reasons:
1. On the horde's side, you see Saurfang being an absolute fucking badass, and you genuinly mourn for him.
2. The Alliance version to this day is one of my favourite moments in gaming as a whole. I won't spoil it. But it's literally the sole reason I wept for Varian at the Broken Shores.
He isnt a villain tho, only a warrior denied his respectful death.
archimondes' fight was still the best raid fight of all time for me!😤😤
edit: or I should say it was the most satisfying to succeed on
You said fight thr pit lord guy twice once is undead and the was in dungeon who do fight his raid under ramparts i thought he was there him there too that is 3 not 2
Ka’el :(
There should be a minor villain list
It's not that Thrall couldn't use magic It's that once you choose a weapon in makgora you can't switch to something else and they chose unarmed combat. That's also why the elements abandoned him is because he showed no honor in that duel by abusing the elements for his vengeance.
thats right the first Pit Lord we fight is Magtheridon......not Mannaroth .......ive always combined them in mah brain
I think arguably Captain Cookie should have been number one
Where Varian?
There are so many spoilers in this video.
13:46 it is not the final raid.
I hate when people say thrall cheated, like the rules of mac'gora are literally unless stated otherwise anything goes. No one said no magic so it was a fair fight.
You left out Hogger
Hogger?!?
I loved the thrall fight. If I were gonna fight bear for my life, I wouldn't fight it bare handed (hehe) because my intellect and a gun would be unfair. I'd shoot it, with lightning if I could, and go about my day!
AND NOT THAT COWARD THRALL
maybe im remembering incorrectly, but a makgora is a duel to the death without the use of magic or enhancements, like poison coating a blade, or sylvanas using banshee powers. Thrall most certainly cheated in that makgora.
Read the wiki its different
if that the case
how can spellcaster win?
Mak'gora has so many inconsistencies itself that magic might as well be allowed. If you go by the traditional way both Thrall and Garrosh were breaking the rules.
Number One, the Jailer. Best of al Villain in wow story......
Tbf Garrosh did (unknowingly) cheat against Cairne as well. Although I'm uncertain how much of this is known to Thrall.
I see Garrosh getting killed by elemental spells some sort of retribution for Garrosh silencing the elements around Orgrimmar and preventing Thrall from using them in another fair fight against him. In that regard, if thrall cheated in Mak'gora, Garrosh cheated first by overpowering and shutting off Thrall.
Edwin VanCleef should had been in the video, at least as a honorable mention.
Reminding everyone that Thrall has forfeited his orcish heritage by cheating in his Mak'Gora. Dishonorable and disgraceful.
