Robert I had a stroke 2 yrs ago trying to rope a bull with my buddy Troy,I got off my horse and couldn't talk just all garbled.My buddy got me to the fire house on Shinn rd then the the hospital.I get tired really easily and I have the words in my head but have trouble getting them out.My femoral artery's are blocked so I can't walk real far like I'm used to hunting and fishing.I miss going out to the woods and just scout sign.Im 67 this month and grateful every day I wake up and watch the sun rise.God bless you, and your family.

Funny, but also scary as hell depending on where they are. All those gators around, that's the last way you wanna see your dog go. Both timee those dogs went in the water I swear I clenched up a little. @@mindcraftyD13
They wanted to feed the gators one last time. Dogs will be dumb if you let them be. 😂
Gar is surprisingly good when prepared right. Cut it up into nugget sized pieces, soak it in buttermilk, season it well, batter it up with eggs/milk and cornmeal or flour.
Rob i had no idea that we went fishing on the one year anniversary of your stroke, I'm so grateful too you guys inviting me out with you and would have had no idea that had happened if I had never known you. Thank you guys again so much, and next time we'll try not too feed Bob Gatorade haha

Wanna say a HUGE thank you to you Rob and all your family and amazing crew. I suffered a near catastrophic work accident back in 2018 and that's how I came across your channel during my long and painful recovery process. What I'd like to thank you most for is the comment at the end of this video about your new normal as an enormous guiding principle for anyone else that has suffered a life altering experience. It's words like that, that have finally after many years of struggling with it have made me realize how lucky I am and getting help both mentally and physically to accept my new normal. I now see it as different abilities not a disability. Cheers and stay safe.

I have to say this, sometimes I don’t comment because people have negative things to say. I remember last year it was very very very painful to see the family goes through that type of pain, heartache, nervousness, etc. etc. we are so glad that you are still around making videos, having a great time etc. . Glad ur doin better, Robert! My dad is also doing great now after a tumor the size of a newborn baby on his bottom three vertibrae! Thanks to Cleveland clinics for everything he’s doing great and had a speedy recovery! Shout out to Cleveland Clinic!

Rob brother your doing good. Been there myself. A stroke is a major setback and to get back from it as well as you have takes determination and a lot of work from within and a lot of faith in God to pull you through it. Like I said been there a few different times myself over the years. Watching your videos have gotten me through a few different hospital stays over the years. Yeah I'm one of your old timers with how long I've been a subscriber. Even remember talking to you about getting a trip to Norway a few years ago. If you ever think about doing it get a hold of me. It’s been amazing to see you come back from your stroke ! I know it changes you and you still have struggles daily but man my dad was so impressed with how you worked your way through it! He ended up dying from a massive stroke in January. He loved your videos and thought those little girls were precious . To god be the glory that your still able to be here doing your work bro! Gratz on the outstanding recovery a year after. I've never heard of eating gar as a filet. Everybody I've ever known who's had gar, it was cooked in a hushpuppy or fritter. They called it gar balls.
I'm very proud of the help I had when I had to go to Lubbock with a puncture lung. GOD bless them all ❤

I had a stroke September 25 of 2023.. I’m at about my 8 month mark, I remember thinking about you! I’m doing really good all things considered 😎 I’ve been watching for a long time!.. them Cajuns use a machete down the back of them Gar fish then fillet it out 🍻

My uncle has a camp little chanier in Louisiana. They have 5 to 8 foot alligator gar. Now those are monsters. They catch them in Sain nets.
When Mav & Camo jumped into the water I was worried they were gonna get the attention of all those gators that were around...Wow Rob its hard to believe its been a year since you had your stroke man time flies
Interesting thing, Indians used gar scales as bird points. They are so tuff! Yes, the gar backstrap is awesome!

It's so crazy that we were going through trials and tribulations at almost the same time. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer on May 5th 2023 with a 9 centimeter mass on my left kidney. I've been watching your channel since you and Sarah were in the old apartment. I'm just so glad that the good Lord saved us both and you are still able to do what you do and I'm still here to be able to watch your journey. I'm now cancer free and you are back at it. TGBTG!!!

A guy told me that he and his family love Gar, and that he has a fine-tooted hand saw that he uses to cut the Gar into 1-inch thick pieces and then he pushes the meat out, and he says he seasons and batters the meat and deep fries it.
