Depends on the winch some have plenty of capacity to fit the entire strap, but they just loosen up so bad and need to be retightened half a dozen times the first day to get the wrap on the winch tight is why I don’t roll it all up on the winch. Stayed so many nights in Moses when I ran MN to Seattle every week, go over to bobs for a burger. Unless of course it was Wednesday then I’d go get the free slice of pie with supper lol
Nice! Next time your around the area stop and park at the hotel they have truck parking and a nice bar/restaurant (paradise bar) off Broadway near half sun travel plaza. Drive safe buddy
@509trucker3 It's not that it doesn't tighten as well per se; it seems that it doesn't tighten as fast. You can pull the whole strap through the winch, fold it over itself, and use the tension side of the strap to pin the 10" long loop you made to the rub rail. It requires 30 seconds more work but is also much more secure on the winch. It's just a different way to do it is all. I may disagree with how you run your straps into the winch, BUT as long as stuff doesn't fall off the trailer or straps don't come undone or loose, the job is done.

Is there any reason why you cannot put the full strap in the coil? And just extend it out and tighten?
Great question, in my experience with 30’ straps it’s just way to much slack to try and stick into the wench, doesn’t tighten as well in my opinion.
