What makes you successful in your videos is a continuous day in the life of a trucker, connect with everyday working people, I’ve watched all of them. That train whistle sure fired you up.
You're a true pro getting those weights so PERFECT!! Great video again, Dan. Nice looking DORSEY trailer! Looks purty nice behind that Peter Car! Stay safe, sir!
Dorsey flaps look good on the truck ✌️✌️✌️like the professionalism of the loader too, he took the time to make sure the shingles were straight on the pallet, most of the time the guys just throw em on the trailer in such a hurry and don’t care. Wish they dis the same with brick as well.
I sure hope Dorsey survived Hurricane Sally....they were right in the path of the storm. Lower Alabama got hammered as well west Florida. Praying for them all.
Dan I am enjoy your videos so much I look forward to all the videos that you made I am not able to get out and do much fun at home but I enjoy your videos and I just wanna let you know bless you stay safe I love to see more videos
Polish those tractor wheels to match your shiny new trailer ... especially the fronts ...love your videos ....used to carry heavy flatbed loads of driveway sealer to many home improvement stores from pa to mass...with a kenworth cabover and great dane flatbed ... always gleaming front to back
Love for trains run deep in all of us, still that kid at heart no matter how old we get. Loved the video Dan , be careful and take care. Happy Trails see you on the flip side ..................
Good stuff Dan👍. Don't worry, your not by yourself with those brain farts. When your rolling and concentrating on what your doing, the days and time seem to fly by. Safe travels and that trailer is taking care of business 👍. By the way Dan, can you show us how you secure the dunnage on the new trailer?
Great video ! It’s awesome seeing what your days are like ! Massive respect to you truck drivers ! You guys always get shitted on by people who don’t understand how things show up in stores but without you guys we would be screwed . Keep up the great work super trucker dan !
Thanks for showing more about the air scales. There's always something to learn from your videos and I appreciate it. Kee on truckin' and Youtubin', it makes my day. Stay well.
Yea to bad that old speedway at route 4 and 20 outside Bellevue Ohio closed. I think I looked over from Ohio turnpike and saw you loading shingles. Nice looking outfit
Love the new Trailer new at Flatbedding, Like the way you break things down, find center of Trailer to equal out Load, 24" distance between each support on side of Trailer, and Love Your scale on Trailer.
X strap the front with two inch straps is a plus our safety guys said they had compliments from dot that we at tmc have that policy it also helped with hard brake incidents and accidents
Shingles from medina Ohio and Milan Ohio are usually cheap and heavy. Sometimes you get good rates. Try not to haul them. Hey dan your trailer is really nice. Drove by shingle yard in Milan twice on Thursday. Actually looked to see if you were there. I was on turnpike. See you
Hey Dan, just started working your channel a few weeks ago. I was extremely surprised the moment today's video started. I knew exactly where you were located just 5 seconds into the video. The abandoned truck stop is only a few miles from my house. And knowing the video was about a load of roofing shingles I immediately started to wonder if you were picking them up at the plant located on RT 250, YEP! The Perrysburg truck stop is very familiar to me also, located right along RT 280/420. Small world Dan. I love your channel !!
Dan even though you chocked the wheels. If the truck wants to roll backwards then your loading the trailer with drive weight, if the truck wants to roll forward then your loading the drives with trailer weight. When your truck want to roll one way or the other then it's not on level ground and your gauges wont be right. you wont that truck to not move an inch with it able to roll free (No brakes set, not in gear and shut off ect) ANYTHING that can keep that truck from rolling will change where weight goes on the truck and therefore make your gauges inaccurate. ONLY set the gauges where it's PERFECTLY flat and the truck wont roll. If your worried about safety the chock your wheels and inch away so if it does roll it wont roll more than an inch. But if you can't remove both chocks by hand with no effort then weight is transferring towards the chock that don't move freely. Chock in front means weight is transferring from trailer to drives and weight on chock in back means weight is transferring from drives to trailer.. Either way your gauges wont read correctly and it's not a good idea to set them...
Just wondering how the trucking industry is right now. I have been laid off since March, I'm about to start flatbed with a company soon but my end goal is to buy my own truck .Because of your videos my end goal is to buy my own truck and trailer. Keep up the good work and be safe Dan!
Dan!Really enjoy your videos, I'm retired ex flat bedder, when cutting your straps, which I also did at 21 foot.I cut at a 45° angle.I felt it was a bit easier to get the end started.I also cut or drilled a inch diameter hole in the end,you can use your hook to pull strap, thru or under pallets or what ever.Find a piece of longer pump rod,the width of trailer, hook on one end,d-ring on the other that your strap hook ends fit. What do you think.
Looks like you were at the abandoned speedway at the corner of 20 and 4 west of Norwalk cutting your strap. We go by there when we go to Norwalk to drag race our car and to watch racing. Love the videos.
Thanks for the videos Dan. I’m not sure what you do with the ends of the straps that you cut off, but you could consider selling them and donating some of the proceeds to a charity of your choice. Maybe a local animal shelter or food bank that has been hard hit due to Covid. I’m guessing there are enough followers that wouldn’t mind helping out a good cause and grabbing a piece of your journey.
I’m catching up on your videos and I carry my broom stick when I go to the scale and just push the button with it. On a reefer if you set the brakes it can change the weight as much as 3,000 pounds or more
Hey Dan: Your video yesterday showed a lot of other truck trailers with many, many axles on the trailers. Any chance of explaining what those trailers are used for (other than probably heavier loads). Thanks from Vancouver Island.
Anyone know why the forklift operator did that before loading shingles? He would drop bundles on ground then pull up to stack with forks above load, then he would back up lower forks to pallet level and then move back in again. Almost looked like a little forklift dance move when Dan had it sped up!
Dan I know this is an old video, I just subscribed to your channel. I was watching this video and was wondering what your trailer spread axle legal axle weight was. If don't answer thats ok I know this video is old. I like your channel. You seem ok, and a real truck driver who takes his job very serious. You can tell you have lots of experience.
Is the Loves where the old Stoney Ridge truck stop was? I use to truck years ago and I always stopped there. They had an old motel and a lounge where bands played. They also had a decent restaurant.
Hey Dan can you explain the log book like time. You jump time lines so can you explain do you stay on central time all the way or do you change the time to each time zone? How does the comp log book work? I like the weights but how much do you want on the front, drives and trailer tires. Can you draw out a chart like the pay one you did and why you work I loved that one. Thanks Dan
Hi dan, did you paid attention,33 000lbs on drive and 11 ???lbs on steer?a couple of video with your coil you got 27 -28 something on drive and 12 160 lbs on steer! When you put more weigh on drive steer come lighter! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Google trucking Oscars: best super trucking videos, best hair, best music, 4:13.Dan, if I had hair like yours, I would be a legitimate person. Next time I am born as a person, I want to have hair like yours. Me? Got none. Just none. Best trucking videos and best hair. * If 'they' map the genome for mail pattern baldness, they definitely need to start with your version for the opposing modality in DNA. Sure to get it right using you 2:24.
Hi Dan, long-time lurker here, love the quality and content of your videos! Why don't you cross strap (X) the front/rear when hauling shingles in case of a hard stop etc.? I seem to recall in older videos you did for a while. Keep it up and stay safe!
I had a truck that was heavy on the steers, it was 12k empty! But when I loaded the trailer it would pick up the front so to speak and I never weighed more than 12,400 fully loaded on the steers. Also my steer axel was rated at 12,400
Great video Dan. Shame about the train lol 😂 Love that Dorsey trailer it's working really well for you 👍🏻 Is the fuel miles better with the aluminium build? Have a great weekend see ya next time cheers Stevie 😎🇬🇧
Just out of curiosity. Wouldn't the center of your trailer the farther forward with the addition of your equipment boxes? Maybe you have already thought about that though.

Man when you hear that train. Your face look like you won the lottery. Stay safe. From imperial California.
Yes,. Act's like a hobo ready to jump on. LOL
Dan that's a sharp looking setup you have there sir. The mud flaps on the truck completes the rolling billboard.
Watching an experienced forklift operator is therapy for me
Great video as always. I don't think you need to spend hours editing though. Just upload it all. It's all good.
Nice vid....shingles are heavy! Great musical selection. Be safe Dan.
Those Dorsey mud flaps look sharp on the Pete!!! Stay safe and keep up the great videos
You're a true pro getting those weights so PERFECT!! Great video again, Dan. Nice looking DORSEY trailer! Looks purty nice behind that Peter Car! Stay safe, sir!
OTR drivers are a bit like retired folks, they sometimes don't remember what day it is! Great video as always Dan.
Dorsey flaps look good on the truck ✌️✌️✌️like the professionalism of the loader too, he took the time to make sure the shingles were straight on the pallet, most of the time the guys just throw em on the trailer in such a hurry and don’t care. Wish they dis the same with brick as well.

Lots of water! Still going strong though! Thank you for thinking about us!

Been following your videos for at least 2 years. They keep getting better. Keep up the great work......
That was a good operator on that forklift. I pull a curtain trailer and have seen a lot of butchers.

Your just a Ramblin' Man Dan. Nice video.
Dorsey flaps look good.
X strap the front with two inch straps is a plus our safety guys said they had compliments from dot that we at tmc have that policy it also helped with hard brake incidents and accidents
Jesse Beasley - good point about the hard brake incidents.
Those guys at Certainteed know how to load you never had any problems with the DC 's.Always heavy. Good looking set up. Be safe

Great music to load shingles by.... like something out of "Hang Em High".
chickey333 exactly what I thought! Something from a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western.
New subscriber enjoyed watching can’t wait for more
For some reason at 4 in the morning when you jumped at hey we got a train coming it cracked me up
Ur videos are just perfect true life on the road ty Dan
That’s a pretty cool trailer
good show Dan!!

Only overweight ticket I got was hauling shingles. Nice dorsey.

NO Train ? 🤨 ☹️ You are our Designated “Train Guy” Truck Driver. 😬👍
Hey Dan: Your video yesterday showed a lot of other truck trailers with many, many axles on the trailers. Any chance of explaining what those trailers are used for (other than probably heavier loads). Thanks from Vancouver Island.
Great job. Have a safe trip.
Started out at Rt. 20 & 4 east of Bellevue didn't ya? Recognized it right away. Been closed up for many years.
Dan good video as always, Dan think you should invest in wheel chocks I don't trust those blocks.
I have hauled many loads of shingles out of TX.
Great video Dan. You might let viewers know the maximum weight you can haul on a spread axle trailer. And the maximum gross for the combination.
That looks like Certainteed Milan Ohio. I loaded there 2-3 times weekly before I retired.
I think you make great videos. Thanks
Anyone know why the forklift operator did that before loading shingles? I go passed that old speedway alot
Always good videos! Thanks
Thanks Dan
Them wood protecters are like the wood on them pallets. When you strap down. One hangs on the side. Keeps stuff from working its way out
Thanks Dan Appreciate The Video

I saw you going north on 41 in Green Bay, WI today
TRAIN!!!.......your like a kid in a candy store when a TRAIN comes, your a very informative person (straps)...stay safe STD, ✌ peace!
Awesome video and information

It's all about time on the clock vs off the clock. In a sense, time zones are irrelevant. If that makes sense.
your time is logged where your home terminal is.
Bom dia, lindo vídeo e boa sorte
Greenville!? That's where I live. Wished i knew you were in town.
Dan, that extra 1000 pounds on your trailer axles is your 3 boxes of stuff!
Toledo! My home town.
Hi dan, did you paid attention,33 000lbs on drive and 11 ???lbs on steer?a couple of video with your coil you got 27 -28 something on drive and 12 160 lbs on steer! When you put more weigh on drive steer come lighter! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
if ur gonna use the no set brake method its best to turn ur truck off ,put tractor in gear and then weigh if ur gonna do it on the cat scale

Dan, I really like the music playing in this video. Could you leave a link or give the name please? Good to see your videos again. thx
Those must be a tough pair if scissors you have for cutting straps.
I set the tractor brakes but not the trailer brakes on the scale. It's the same as shutting off the engine with it in gear, if your driving a manual.
I had a truck that was heavy on the steers, it was 12k empty! But when I loaded the trailer it would pick up the front so to speak and I never weighed more than 12,400 fully loaded on the steers. Also my steer axel was rated at 12,400
Not far from about an hour an a half form me. Stay dea safe sir
Good video
Great video Dan. Shame about the train lol 😂 Love that Dorsey trailer it's working really well for you 👍🏻 Is the fuel miles better with the aluminium build? Have a great weekend see ya next time cheers Stevie 😎🇬🇧
Are shingles paying better because a few years ago shingles and drywall where 10 cent freight
Just out of curiosity. Wouldn't the center of your trailer the farther forward with the addition of your equipment boxes? Maybe you have already thought about that though.
grand ledge is where u were at loves truck stop
Hi Teresa
What with all the Hurricanes along the Gulf Coast, roofing shingles will likely be in demand & create more flatbed traffic to affected areas. 🤠
