Greetings from Scotland! Again we see the enormous level of emotional commitment this young lady puts into her performances! When Diana cries at the end, that is not for effect, it is because she just lived through the song she sang! She totally envelops herself in the song and often it takes several minutes to snap out of that state. An extraordinary, unique singer! This song is a very, very old Russian folk song about a young Cossack who has a strange dream on the night before a big battle. In his dream he rides out onto the battlefield as an evil wind springs up from the East, spooking his horse and blowing off his hat. Confused, he goes to see his commanding officer and asks what the dream could mean. The Captain (Yesaul) explains that it was not his hat which blew off, but his head! Gruesome stuff! 😲😲

Very interesting that we at this junction can compere two very different and young highly accomplished female singer, Angelina Jordan, now 18 and Diana Ankudinova (also 18 here). This reminds us how much room for variety and greatness there is, and many rewards fall in our lap when we explore and expose ourselves to great art in the form of vocals alone. It would be very rewarding to read some truly knowledgeable and insightful commentary on the subject.

I believe that the producers of this show imagined that it would be more competitive than it turned out to be 🤣. But after the first episode, with Diana’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, I think the participants all realized (consciously or unconsciously) that really, it was “The Diana Ankudinova Show”. The fact that there were no big prizes, and no real penalty for failure, became more and more apparent as the weeks went by: the artists became much less concerned with the points they would win or lose, and more interested in taking the opportunity to experiment, try new things. In a recap video, the artists credit Diana with creating a fun, mutually supportive, atmosphere behind the scenes. By far the youngest of them, showing a better way ❤
Simply the most inspiring female vocalist on planet earth full stop, been following her for three glorious years, her story is inspiring, this Russian prodigy deserves world recognition keep digging
This show presents the difference between East and West. Difference in approach. West is all about fame, East is more about achievement. Call me oldfashioned, but I like this Eastern approach. Back in the day, fame was a consequence of an achievement, fame was not a goal. Then, suddenly, fame became a goal, so people did stuff to become famous, that was the first shortcut. Now the work and achievement has became obsolete. Ultimate goal has became the fame. You just neef to do something outrageous and show as much skin as possible! Work and talent have became just a nuisance.
