So, in the past couple of years 3 of my friends got married, and 3 are still single. The 3 that are still single are funny, smart, independent, with amazing jobs and beautiful. And the 3 that got married are the ones that were all the damsel in distress ALL the time. First they needed a new car because theirs has been breaking down, then they needed a place to live, then they needed help getting a job. And you would think this would turn men off, but it seems to do the exact opposite! So playing the victim helps :)

It's simple. Purely an instant chemistry love on both sides. I experienced this in my life and I was proposed to basically immediately! I had to let it settle down a little. But it was the best marriage ever! We both loved everything about each other! We both wanted to make each other happy which made ourselves happy. We never had a fight, argued or said a bad word to each other! It was magic! The best thing I ever did in my life ! He was everything to me, protector, lover, provider, convadant, therapist, councillor, loyal great guy. And yes he fixed things!😅 He was a big and strong firefighter and very selfless. So I don't think a lady needs to just look for a guy that fits the qualities in your shopping list. It's a natural feeling that can't be denied. Not lust!! But a mutual feeling that you can not describe. He cooked too😊! We knew that we weren't happy without the other. And it's been like that for over 15 years! And going strong! ❤😊

Because I know that no matter what, I would have a man that would go that extra mile for me and kids and would be a provider. That includes me doing Thanksgiving or Christmas meals at his parents house for entire extended family every year. My husband works in finance, and I used to work in a whiskey lounge in a very high income area right next to a golf club. Here’s what these guys have said they think is wife material:
Sweet: they want to come home and experience peace, not more combative situations. She doesn’t have to be submissive - they all said they liked a little feistiness - but she has to be their teammate. A teammate can tease you, and teammate can point out when your slipping up, but they aren’t your rival. They aren’t your opponent. They aren’t trying to “win” against you, they want someone to win with.
Natural beauty: they don’t want her to look like a completely different person when she wears makeup, or to be visibly packed full of fillers
Small waist/waist ratio: some men like a small waist and big boobs, some men like a small waist and the thick ass, some dudes like a lean, muscular hourglass figure, some like a thick hourglass figure, and some like a very skinny lean figure. But they all like either a small waist or a small waist in comparison to the hips and/or tits.
    Enjoys being physically intimate. Duh.
Laughs at their jokes: Duh. Don’t be a school marm over their jokes (and if their jokes aren’t for you, neither is the guy)
Occasionally makes them a nice, home cooked meal: everyone loves having a delicious meal cooked just for them. EVERYONE.
Is kind to children, animals, and the elderly: most guys who want to get married also want to have kids. So they obviously want a woman who seems like she will be nurturing and loving to their children.
Low neuroticism: they don’t want to be your therapist. They want you to be an adult and handle your shit without internally falling apart all the time. A little freak out here and there is normal and expected. But no stable, healthy, successful guy wants to moonlight as an unpaid therapist. Get your shit together.
Takes care of their health: being a primary care taker is ever sexy. No one wants to be one before they absolutely have to be. If you aren’t doing everything you can to be healthy (diet, exercise, healthy lifestyle), they’re not going to take you on. You can have health problems, but the woman they marry will her health problems as a motivator to stay and be healthy, not an excuse to give up and exacerbate the situation while expecting them to enable it.

🥹 thank you!! Look I’m a worker bee feminist and to keep us producing, I think we’ve been sold the narrative that, exactly, domestic = submissive. But if working doesn’t equal this reptilian monster female then a domestic woman therefore can’t equal a spineless submissive wuss, you know? If one extreme isn’t true then the other one isn’t either.
And I think it’s actually beta males who have a massive incentive to keep women like us working AND trying to do everything else. It means there’s less for them to do!
So we need to start reexamining what we’ve been sold and more importantly how happy does it make us?

I noticed a pattern of women who say “I do everything in the house, I help him when he needs but he doesn’t appreciate it” who end up getting hurt and disappointed, a man needs that feminine energy and nurturing and empathy, you don’t need to go out of the way to do every single thing. Women underestimate how much being kind to your man goes, and being masculine and fixing everything (not even physically) is not what men want.

Husband material for me is someone who has a provider mentality! Not in a trad wife kind of way, but in the airport test kind of way. His mindset is to be that he’s willing to be selfless towards his wife and children. A lot of guys these days resent their wives for not working or not paying for dinner or half the bills, and don’t understand the sacrifice women make to their bodies, lives, and spirits to raise his children!
Additionally, he has to treat me right and make me laugh! I have zero tolerance for any forms of abuse - but this should be the case for every woman.

Not sure it's very fun to be married to such a person. Also, as far as the nurturing goes, looks like she reserves that to her cats and not to human beings. I've seen boyfriends/husbands of friends who can't even hold a conversation and look at their phone half the time, when they have guests at their house. The woman then has to be the caterer, the entertainer, the conversationalist, everything. It's cringe and exhausting.

All the men here that are drawn to me are feminine, don't want to lead, very emotional, maybe closet gay?
    What is going on?
My ex husband was a fixer around the house. He just couldn't fix himself to not do drugs or cheat on me.

Hi!! I’m coming with a piece of advice/food for thought ❤ It’s very often the demographics that play a big role in the search, but also - where are you searching? If it’s dating apps, then maybe you need to make some alterations in your profile (Shallon offers a course Appy Endings, and it’s really amazing, it made my experience on dating apps way better 😊). OR maybe look at it that way - you might display some behaviors that attract certain type of men. But get curious, not furious with it, you’re there to assess. Just as Shallon said “you need to dress for the job you want” and it might as well relate to how someone behaves too
Could you say something more about it? Describe what kind of person you are or whatever you feel like could matter

@9:31 - Not reading any of the other comments yet before posting this so I can be fully authentic in my expression of what I think husband material is. Great question! (So this is just me, but husband material FOR ME, is anyone with a certain masculine energy #1.) (you may laugh) but a man I can go on an adventure with and know I'm fully protected, provided for, Not that I like the bad boy, but a CONFIDENT man that owns his masculinity. Maturity, whether in years or in emotions, a rugged bear of a man is my type, whose career and creative life needs no tweaking by me. In the rough, male qualities makes me fall to love at first site, so I guess I am a traditional female in that sense. Just one look that shows he doesn't need to compete with a woman, nor does he need to suppress her to embody his power, including types such as, high power creatives, (actors, directors, rockers, painters, bonus for facial hair, tattoos, business suits, or shaved heads.) ;)
