I dread the sad day I hear anything about Iron Maiden saying goodbye. I've been a fan since 1982 and they have never ever disappointed me. They have been there for me through very rough times and I will always love this band.
Fan since 92. They were such a big part for many people's lives growing up, not just the music but later the artwork, the shirts, that strange logom.. all had a kind of mystique around it. Anyway unless there are health issues I can see them getting to 50 years and calling it a day in some form. Nicko will be 75, some of the others will be 70... I don't want them to end up like other bands trying to plug the gaps (Priest, Slayer) or going out well past their sell by date (Kiss). Steve probably has that kind of integrity where he would rather end it that plod on forever.
I've been a fan since 1983! Would love to see them around for another 5 years, at least. Nicko is 70-something, and Steve is 67. Bruce is 64. Hoping the band can keep it going!!!! UP THE IRONS!!!
I think they'll do one more studio album and tour, then semi-retire and just do the odd one-off show, festival headliner etc. Will be a sad day, but multiple generations will be able to look back on it with a sense of warmth and fondness I doubt any other band will ever evoke
Yes and I truly believe they really really respect there fans and know what it's taken to earn that. They all have been nothing but true professionals, hardiest working band I've ever seen. I do believe the love is mutual . You do not get that from alot of bands. It's just not about the money. Never has been. Heck they never really played Maiden on radio much at all where I come from. They have earned it big time. I'm glad to be alive to see just how big they have gotten across the world. I hope we can get a couple more studio albums though. Lol
@@IronDemon89 I was waiting for a set list reveal and then I was gunna go to London to O2 Arena if Bergen was sold out and both were. In fact, the whole thing is. Guess I gotta wait for 2024... ugh
@SirRobbins the whole somewhere in time theme pushed me to do it regardless of setlist. (Fav album) It was a very "shut up and take my money" type of Moment
I saw them at Nottingham (there's a highlight reel on my channel), and it was like I was transported back to 1989, when I was a 13 year old kid watching Live After Death for the first time. I'd seen them twice before, but that was back before Adrian rejoined, so this was my first time seeing him. As I teenager I was a massive Adrian Smith fan, so to finally see him, and hear him play Stranger in a Strange Land and Wasted Years was a really special moment. I was seated on the "Dave side" of the stage, and it should be noted that his playing is still fantastic. I'm not as big a fan of Alexander The Great as many others, but Somewhere In Time was always a favourite album, and they slipped many a favourite of mine into the set (The Prisoner, Can I Play With Madness, etc.). Whether or not someone feels the stage is a step backwards with its lack of mechanical/physical props, it was still an incredible show that was everything the teenage version of me could have wanted. Lastly, flames. So many flames. You could feel the temperature rising in the arena.
Don’t care what anyone says. I’ve never seen Iron Maiden. Bought tickets to a show on this tour. Will be my first concert ever so no way I’m missing this
I think these last few tours have shown Maiden are masters at their game. It's a near perfect show. Only switch I would make is Can I Play with Madness for either Sea of Madness or Deja Vu. Regardless, I hope this leg of the tour continues into more of North America and South America next year, and maybe both Russia and Ukraine at some point.
Went to their show last night with my grandpa, it’s so funny watching my oldman getting excited watching a bunch of oldmen playing instruments on stage. I love my grands, what an experience!
I was at the barrier for the first three shows (I'm the guy with the red/black baseball cap seen in the clip with Bruce being all emotional during Hell On Earth). All I can say is WOW. The boys really outdid themselves with The Future Past Tour! I'll be seeing them a total of 14 times this summer and it goes without saying I look forward to every single show. Up the Irons from Sweden! 🤘
sad thing that they did not play The Parchment thus far on the Futures Past tour. I think it may be the best song they've wrote in decades! From what i heard, Nicko said they DID play Alexander The Great on tour back in 1987, but for some reason, they removed it from the set list after playing it a handful of times.
I've been a fan of this band for 20 years now and finally got the chance to see them live. It hurts my heart that you can't join Iron Maiden on this tour.
Very lucky to be going to the Manchester, UK show. Seen the band 3 times now after seeing them on the Book of Souls and Legacy of the Beast shows. Can't wait until the show. Up the irons!
Great review a always. Hoping they make it out to Australia this time and if they do they still have the enthusiasm they appear to have with these early shows. And for your sake, i really hope you get to see them too somehow or somewhere in time. Up the irons🤘
Great content as usual well done mate stay safe and here's to hopeing things return to normal for you and your country people soon up you and up the irons 🤘🏻
I went on the 11th of July to see the future past tour in Amsterdam. It was the 1st time I was able to see them live after being a fan for 36 years. Somewhere in time was my first music album I ever bought and I had goosebumps all night. I went with my sister. who went from "I don't really like them" to "they are ok but not really my thing" before the show. But afterwards she really got the bug and had become something of a fan. Stay safe and UP THE IRONS!
Saw them in Birmingham. First time for me and if I ever get the chance to see them again I will, no questions. Brilliant setlist, had everyone singing along.
I love how they are finally showcasing Adrian on guitar. He plays some of the bands best solos. Dave is incredible of guitar and every tour he is showcased. Adrian and Jackie split the other solos. So far from the videos I've seen Adrian is the lead on being showcased and Dave and Jackie split the rest. I could be wrong but that's how I see it. Which I like because Adrian is my favorite guitarist in Iron Maiden
What do you mean? He wasn't being showcased, those are all the solos HE WROTE and performed on those album tracks. Somewhere in Time Was Effectively Adrian's Album, so it's impossible to play those tracks without him dominating the presence. The mini jazz -like solo before the 2 main solos and the intro to Alexander were his contributions. He wrote the music to the prisoner with Bruce providing the lyrics, same with writing on the wall.Hell, he even wrote the intro to "loneliness of the long-distance runner", which they unfortunately didn't perform. I love Dave as a maverick shredder, but as a songwriting guitarist and particularly with tastefulness in improvisation, he doesn't compare to Adrian- In fact Nobody does- Adrian only ever improvises slightly and it never detracts from the beauty of the fit of the original solo, and sometimes actually improves it amazingly
@Rowlph8888 all I mean is in past tours Jackie ended up playing some of Adrian's solos from the early albums. Like the number of the beast solo Jackie plays instead of Adrian. So I'm happy Adrian gets to shine on this tour
Janick previously played Adrian's solos that he played when Smith was outside the band. When Adrian back Janick still played most of his solos, 'cos he doing it in the past. It Adrian courtesy. Now they play a few songs that they never plays with Janick and because of that Adrian can perform his own solos himself :-)
My opinion is that this tour is for the new fans AND the hardcore Maiden metalheads that have stood the test of time, henceforth the other reason for the name Future Past Tour. I am hoping for more North American dates to catch the guys again, saw them in 2010 & 2012. 🤘😎🤘
I know the Technical Product Manager for video for this tour; he puts together the video walls. He normally puts together the video screens in his software, flies out to the first concert, and hands off his hardware to the crew and flies back home. But, he's been asked to stay on tour with Maiden for the Canadian leg of the tour. I'm really happy for him as he grew up a Maiden fan just like us and now gets to go on tour with them; at least for the Canadian leg of the tour. I'm hoping to make it to the Vancouver show, as it's the closest show to where I live in America.
I saw Maiden at Sweden Rock, and as usual, a great show. However, I think it was kind of less pyro and props than on the Legacy of the Beast tour. So that was kind of a slight let down. Well, well. You can’t have everything I guess. 😉 I loved the set list.
Going to the Leeds show at the end of the month my first Maiden show was initially disappointing with the lack of hits (hills hallowed etc) but as the shows have gone on the setlist has grown on me buzzing for it now
you said that playing Alexander the Great puts an end to the mystery. but there are other tracks we could cry out for. To Tame a Land, Judas my Guide, Id love to see them bring back Killers some time also
Before the whole world cries the day the band calls it quits, i am hoping they do both Empire of the Clouds, and The Parchment, in concert. I'd also love to see them do Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, Dance of Death, Paschendale, and 22 Acacia Avenue.
"Rightfully gave it to another epic" my ass. That tour was supposed to be the first 7 albums only. There was no reason for Fear Of the Dark to be in that show. That honestly killed that song for me. God forbid you have a set with Powerslave, Rime Of the Ancient Mariner, AND Alexander The Great in the same show.
"A tour for all those boys and girls who are drawing a cyborg Eddie in their notebook"... yep, that was me 36 years ago when I should have been listening to the teacher!
I'm not very good at drawing, and cyborg Eddie looked complicated, so I would usually draw prophecy Eddie, from the inside cover of Seventh Son. In theory their next tour will be a mix of whatever the new album is and Seventh Son (which was the first album I listened to, so I will lose my frickin' mind).
I totally agree about Alexander. The band nailed it at the O2 last night, I sang every word. Ok so what do we complain about now?!? Which song will now become the most requested before they retire? Infinite Dreams? To Tame a land? (I know they played them before but we really missed them in the history tours!)
I'm so excited to watch these guys again! And I'm so hyped and happy that they are finally playing Alexander the great! However that being siad, I cannot understand why they waited to play it so late into their carriers. I'd have loved to see them play this back in 2008 which to me is one of their best times. But regardless love this band! UP THE IRONS!
Saw them in Nottingham on Monday and it was brilliant .. But I also saw the Piece of Mind and World Slavery Tours in 1983 and 1984 and they , in my opinion were just as good if not better ..
Im gonna see them for the first time in the Milan date on July and i can't wait. Clearly they can't sound perfect but i love this setlist, the atmosphere and the energy that they are bringing, especially Bruce. They are rocking every place they are playing in. Up the Irons forever
My sister bought me and my girlfriend tickets to see this show in Calgary this September. I have been a Maiden fan since I was 9 and I've gotten my girlfriend into them as well. It will also be her first arena concert.
I’m nowhere near a die hard fan, only became a fan in recent years and was lucky enough to see them at my first Download Festival last year, was gutted that I wasn’t going to make seeing them next week in my home town but I managed to get a ticket on resale and found someone to cover my shift at work! I cannot wait to hear two of my favourite Maiden albums on a tour together 🤘
I was able to see them back 1986 in long beach arena and Tucson AZ. TCC center, $18 dlls per ticket and 13 dlls for tour shirt , I think the opening show was the ExKiss guitar player band Vinny V., good old days.
Thank you for making these videos. It means a lot. I am following the tour on RUclips, same as you. This will be the first tour I will miss since I first saw them in 2005. 🥲
Greetings from the UK-England or Britain-i don`t mind....As a 62 year old man i`m luckily attending roughly 5/6 of the UK shows as i feel that due to me being only a few years younger than most band members, this COULD be their last tour.Normally with any/all gigs i`ve ever attended i never want to know the setlist in advance but as there have been so many youtube videos it`s been difficult to avoid them, personally i would have loved to have heard the title track from Senjutsu,i`ve never been a huge fan of Can I Play With Madness,Alexander The Great is a great album track but i can see me nipping to the loo/bar when it`s playing...i`m looking forward to the other Senjustsu songs especially Hell On Earth....Maybe by the time the get over here the setlist might have been shuffled around a bit ?.
I saw the original 1987 tour and would love to see them play in the US again, but sadly there's only one US show in 2023. I hope they come back next year.
my fear is that when they do more US dates, they'll ditch the show and do something different. 1987 was my first metal concert and Maiden were my favorite band, it was definitely epic. My voice was gone for days lol.
Ok, so @ironmaiden should without a doubt be inviting you to a show so you can actually go see them. You put out suxh good content and clearly love them.
I just hope that show will come to Montréal and i get the chance to see it this is the show i wait from the first Day à start listen at 5 y o . I hope for you to that the band see your vidéo and give you à invitation
I just hope they go out like Rush, before their abilities diminish, and without farewell tour shenanigans. I’m sad I’ll not be able to see them, but equally happy for all those that can. Up the Irons, and Hell on Earth🤘🖖✌️🎸🎸🎸🎤🥁🎹🥇🇬🇧🎼
I'm taking my brother to see them in London for the first time. We should have gone on the Legacy Tour in Prague but Covid and then later Easyjet cancelling flights meant it wasn't to be. So Future Past it is to pop his Maiden cherry. Took him to see Alice Cooper last year which he escribed as "Bizarrely Brilliant" , we all know that a Maiden show is completely different to Alice so I think he ill love the atmosphere that our little family creates ! Up The Irons Brothers & Sisters Slava Ukraini!
Hey Metal Pilgrim . Big fan of Maiden . Seen them all the way back in the 80’s as a warm up band for Rainbow and 38 Special . I was a young man full of hopes and dreams … my question to u is how do u feel about Bruce and his opinion of weed smokers ? Strength and Honor to the Ukrainian …..
I can only confirm, what you say. Isa w Bruce on his solo'tour in Sofia this year, the second show after Bukarest, which was really hard. But then, in Sofia, after his fantastic "Gerusalemme", it was the same. I was in the first row and saw his smile, like he was happy. - I will see them twice, at Hellfest and in Hannover.
What they are doing is amazing and this is one of the best setlists ever in their career. Those who dislike the Senjutsu songs : Don' t waste your time in your WASTED COMPLAINTS !!
I'll be going to see them in Manchester at the end of this month. Can't wait 🤘🤘🤘 My mate asked 'So they won't be playing 2 Minutes, Number of the Beast or Run to the Hills?'. No sorry mate, not this time but it's still going to be epic 😊
One thing ive noticed with this tour, There appear to be several nights in the same venue popping up. Kinda makes me think that this is the band giving as many fans as possible the chance to see them before they call it a day. I hope to all things Eddie that thats not the case but theres something kinda conclusive about this tour
They do this all the time. I saw them at the O2 Arena London on the Maiden England 2014, Book Of Souls 2017, Legacy 2018 tours, and next month Days Of Future Past… every time they announced a date at that venue, as soon as the presale tickets went up, they announce a second date the next night… EVERY time. It’s always planned in, they know the demand will be high, but they don’t announce it until the tickets go on sale, creating even more demand for the “added” date.
I try and imagine Maiden doing a Metallica spread out type live show and I just think when a show is condensed on one side, it carry’s a punch. Saw them 84 slavery tour, BOS The Forum, BOS EL Salvador, and LOB part 1/2. Planning on Vancouver BC and POWER TRIP.
Actually, that huge Samurai Eddie IS inflatable! So that is something that is in common with Somewhere on Tour’s giant Eddie Head (sans the fingers at the front).
There's been a lot of comments on other channels regarding Nicko's playing this tour, saying he's not doing fills etc. here and there, but to be honest, I can draw 3 conclusions from this. Firstly, they had a lot of technical problems on the first few dates in Slovenia and Prague. Secondly, as you said yourself, this is probably the most ambitious set lists they've performed in well over a decade and also, he is getting on which does take its toll. All these points to me are just teething troubles. They will hit their stride and even though there are a few rough patches at he moment, they still sound far far FAR better than Guns and Roses or Motley Crue do these days and they're over 10 years older than those bands! I can't wait to see them in Murcia in July, it's going to be epic! I really hope you can get to witness this tour sometime too dude! As always, keep up the good work and Slava Ukraini! Robin
I dont understand why you have to bash GNR. There shows are also still great. When i saw them last year they played for over three hours! Axels voice changed a bit, but he still hits the notes and is pretty active on stage. So i dont really know what you mean.
I saw them last night in Nottingham. They were f##king magnificent !! The crowd went nuts and the band were on fire. Bruce went wrong in Stranger in a Strange Land, and Jaick had some tech issues, and Bruce also seemed to have issues with his mike feeding back a fair bit early on. He moved around incredibly well for someone his age and with a hip replacement And I'm just in awe of Nicko's playing for a man of that age Sad they're another step closer to the end as there's no one like them But f##k me it was good !!!
I was an Nottingham too, and loved every minute of it. I've seen them twice before, but that was before Adrian rejoined, so it was my first time seeing them as a six piece. I was on the left side (or the "Dave side", as we we call it), and it was everything I could have wanted. It was like watching Live After Death for the first time again.

Keep "Can I Play with Madness" and start the encore with "Sea of Madness", then go into "The Evil That Men Do" and drop "Hell on Earth" from the set.
The only thing I would change is Death of the Celts take away and add The Parchment
I would switch Death of Celts for three shorter songs and make it a 17 song setlist: Stratego, Wrathchild and Still Life(or Sun and Steel).
Nah I'm taking my 11 yo daughter and Can I play with Madness is her absolute favourite

you said that playing Alexander the Great puts an end to the mystery. but there are other tracks we could cry out for. To Tame a Land, Judas my Guide, Id love to see them bring back Killers some time also
To Tame A Land is definitely the new Alexander for me. It'd be a shame if they never play that again.
Montsegur for me. Would be proper bangin
I can't wait to see this epic show in Krakow, unfortunately not in my native Ukraine
К вас они должны были играть в 2000-ом году в поддержку Brave New World но что то не сложилось,готов был ехать...
If maiden playing in Ukraine cant bring piece. Nothing can. It would be worth a try.
I saw them live in manchester and i can say 100% they are worth seeing live
So pumped for Leeds & Manchester! 🤘🏼
Saw the Powerslave tour, they always have been and always will be awesome. Last album was great too!
If they come to my area I will definitly see IRON MAIDEN🤘
I'm so excited to watch these guys again! And I'm so hyped and happy that they are finally playing Alexander the great! However that being siad, I cannot understand why they waited to play it so late into their carriers. I'd have loved to see them play this back in 2008 which to me is one of their best times. But regardless love this band! UP THE IRONS!
I think this could be their best tour. Period.
Have seen evry tour since Bruce & Adrian reunion,..Agree!
@@cmiller6501 Me too! The Ed Hunter tour was incredible. I really have no complaints about any tour! Up the Irons my friend!
Saw them in Nottingham on Monday and it was brilliant .. But I also saw the Piece of Mind and World Slavery Tours in 1983 and 1984 and they , in my opinion were just as good if not better ..
@@simonedwards2703 Up the Irons my brother!
I was in Birmingham future past tour on 4th of July , the maiden boys show no signs of slowing down they were amazing 🤩
Saw this tour back in the day,..amazing!,..actually every tour since Piece of Mind.X
I was in Tampere first night... AWESOME!
Great set list
Im gonna see them for the first time in the Milan date on July and i can't wait. Clearly they can't sound perfect but i love this setlist, the atmosphere and the energy that they are bringing, especially Bruce. They are rocking every place they are playing in. Up the Irons forever
Cannot wait till 28th of June my Wife 2 friends and me are off to Leeds to see the Irons my 4th time 2 being monsters of rock
I will see the light at Power Trip, thank you Iron Maiden
My sister bought me and my girlfriend tickets to see this show in Calgary this September. I have been a Maiden fan since I was 9 and I've gotten my girlfriend into them as well. It will also be her first arena concert.
I'll be in Glasgow at the back end of the month..happy days
Goosebumps on my goosebumps !
Lmao 14:33 has me cracking up! Can never go wrong with a Doctor Evil joke! Love the content bud, keep it up!
Cant wait too see them in dublin on Saturday
I'm very excited to see then live in Dublin this month
Not just one of the greatest metal bands in history - Maiden IS THE GREATEST band of ALL time.
They have to play iron maiden . Thats their closer and love it .
It would be kicke if they play the Clansman again😀😀🤘🤘
The set list awesome! Can't wait until they Come to the usa!
Up The Irons Brothers & Sisters
Slava Ukraini!
i saw then live today in Antwerp... it was awesome
They need more songs from some where in time, like deja vu or long distance runner
Long Distance Runner is such an underrated song. Just chock full of Adrian's melodic brilliance.
I saw them 4.6, it was best maiden concert so far what i have seen
Great coverage!
Let’s force them to play To Tame a Land now!
After this world tour i think they will do a retire tour and call it quits
They've always done this with gigs that they expect to sell really well.
After this tour, they will do a 50th Anniversary tour in 2025-2026 and retire.
@@KevinQ1989 hopefully they'll still make music in the studio
They do this all the time.
I saw them at the O2 Arena London on the Maiden England 2014, Book Of Souls 2017, Legacy 2018 tours, and next month Days Of Future Past… every time they announced a date at that venue, as soon as the presale tickets went up, they announce a second date the next night… EVERY time. It’s always planned in, they know the demand will be high, but they don’t announce it until the tickets go on sale, creating even more demand for the “added” date.
Am I planning on seeing the tour... Hell yeah.. 14 times
`great emotional review! Thx!
Robin
People are complaining about fills ? fucking FILLS ? 🤣
@@mirak63 Yeh! I know! Haha! 🤣
I dont understand why you have to bash GNR. There shows are also still great. When i saw them last year they played for over three hours! Axels voice changed a bit, but he still hits the notes and is pretty active on stage. So i dont really know what you mean.
@@jens2539 Yeh you're right, credit where it's due. They do put on one hell of a show still and make a lot of people very happy.
@@mirak63 Well, Nickos playing style is characterized by his fills.
Skipping loses something important
I love maiden i learned play guitar playing the songs started in 1980s
I saw them last night in Nottingham.
They were f##king magnificent !!
The crowd went nuts and the band were on fire.
Bruce went wrong in Stranger in a Strange Land, and Jaick had some tech issues, and Bruce also seemed to have issues with his mike feeding back a fair bit early on.
He moved around incredibly well for someone his age and with a hip replacement
And I'm just in awe of Nicko's playing for a man of that age
Sad they're another step closer to the end as there's no one like them
But f##k me it was good !!!
