I've seen Maiden since the 80's, and this set is on par with the best sets from that era - with one big difference - Bruce is actually singing better..!
Thanks for your defense of Nicko Mcbrain, so many people commenting without knowledge. Hes 71, he has to play economically else there is a chance he won't make it through the tour because of exhaustion and/or arthritis problems. Nicko is a legend!
I had the immense pleasure of seeing the boys in Manchester on this tour and honestly, they're just unbelievable. How do they do it? They're certainly ironing out the wrinkles in their play as they re-familiarise with themselves with playing live, some songs having sat 30+ years on the shelves, they're just improving with age. I've seen Alexander the Great live! I'm so lucky! I think there's got to be a part of Maiden that is kicking themselves for waiting so long to be honest because it really does work fantastically live. I agree that they wouldn't have done it the same justice back then though, it's a difficult song for them to play now and they don't have that natural comfort that they even have with Hell on Earth (which I agree as well, was sensational). If they play Alexander enough to get fully comfortable with it, I can imagine Bruce having a huge amount of fun with it. (He's brought banging the gong in, but I could see him doing some Trooper-esque shenanigans in the instrumentals rather than him heading to the back for a period). This show is kind of the Adrian Smith show, in a lot of ways. I couldn't tear my eyes off him, he's just the greatest, and my word, he delivered. Dave is flawless, a real master, almost un-assumingly genius. Janick is a legend, so much energy, he never steps off the gas, he's brilliant. Steve is timeless. The commander, he plays like he's 18. How! It may be fair to say that Nicko may be losing a step, he is 71, but it genuinely doesn't matter in the arena, he's a thundering presence, a master. Nicko losing a single step leaves him a marathon ahead of his peers. The same goes to Bruce. He's an older gentleman now and his voice doesn't have quite the same range, he's not going to sound like he did in the 80's, but with age, he's got deeper power in his voice, he's still able to hold the notes and he's a throat cancer survivor to boot, it defies logic that he's that good!
It's considered good parenting to take your kids to an Iron Maiden show! I took my baby (16) to see them in 2022. It was amazing! I hope they come back to the US soon so we can make more memories 🔥🤘🎸
1000%!!! 🤘🤘 It's a great time for both, a bonding experience, a chance to make memories, and it gives the show a more positive vibe for everyone in attendance!
This tour is absolutely magical. From the moment Caught Somewhere In Time explodes out to the final moments, it was just euphoric. I was an excited lil' kid the entire time
My favourite part of the Dublin show was just before Adrians solo in Alexander The Great, he slowly walked to centre stag, put his hands together as if praying to get it right 🙏, then nailing the timing and smiling to himself!
I've been to the concert in Amsterdam yesterday ! That was a great show. The band is tight and Alexander the Great, Wasted Years and Fear of the Dark are moments I will never forget. I'm just sad for not having experience Hallowed be thy Name or Aces high, 2 Minutes to Midnight but... whatever, it was energetic Iron Maiden anyway. What a great band. Legendary !
Murray's solo in Alexander the great is my fav solo, not by maiden but over all. The perfect combination of technique, melody and playing for the song. Insane
I was at the Glasgow gig and I must admit, I headed along with the idea that this would be my last Iron Maiden show as the guys are getting on a bit and I don't want to hear them as they decline... I came away from the show saying, "I think I will go the next time they are up!" My feeling on the night was simple, I thought it was the Adrian Smith show!! He seemed to be playing solo's and leads most of the night. How anyone can moan about his playing is beyond me. I always feel he is the guy holding them together. His playing is so tasteful and thought out. Don't get me wrong, Dave Murray is a wizard and its great to hear him play a face melting solo but I have a soft spot for what Adrian brings to the table - a full musician. Lucky that Janick is there to bring a bit of life/personality to the show as he likes to entertain and keep the crowd pleased! I have said many times that I am not impressed much with the Senjutsu album, just sounds like a collection of riffs and melodies they have done before but the songs do fit well in the set and at least they didn't play the 5 of them all in a row. It was good to hear The Clansman live for the first time... although he mentioned something about Celts??!! What I was fair chuffed with wasn't the fact that they played Alexander The Great (which was absolute pure class and the only reason I bought a ticket) but when they slid in The Prisoner I was in pure heaven!! I never thought I would ever hear that live. So I was well happy. First time I have seem them NOT play Hallowed... but firing in Fear Of The Dark was fine touch. It was a great concert. Fair enough, Bruce doesn't run about as much but who cares? I go to watch and be entertained and never fully expect each song to be note perfect to the album - it isn't Dream Theater onstage. Watch the concert for what it is, not what you think it should be... ... Imagine if Led Zeppelin stuck rigidly to playing only what was on an album - they would never have been as big as they were.
What can i say went to see the boys last night at the O2 and was totally blown away at just how good these guys still are, each song was performed to perfection Bruce's vocals are tremendous still, Nicko is still smashing it at the ripe old age of 71?, how the hell are these guys still performing to this level is beyond me they are machines - from start to finish i was grinning like a madman, the 9 hour round trip of driving me and my daughter down to London to see them was worth it and i would do it all again today Up The Irons!!
I was at the Dublin show. I had only watched a few videos of the early shows because I still wanted it to be fresh when I saw them 4 weeks later and couldn't believe the difference in performances. They were on fire in Dublin, even the gong fail haha. The opening of the show was one of the most magical moments of my life and when that first CSIT chorus came in I actually welled up and by the time the song finished I was wiping tears away. It was incredible. Part of me is sad because they rarely play in Ireland and it could well be the last time I see them. But what a show if it is to be my last.
Have to agree with you. I have seen the mighty Maiden many times and always leave thinking it’s the best yet but this show was so outstandingly great on so many levels. The fact I had not even thought about the Trooper until the opening riff shows how good the set list was.
For me that was the best show I have ever witnessed. With highlights in the form of opening Caught Somewhere in Time and Hell on Earth. Both songs were highly anticipated by me to hear them live and I can't throw away from my mind the power of Bruce vocals since the show. This song needs space to be fully expierienced. In my opinion it is as you said - the perfect opener. I feel that I would never have enough of it even after thousand shows.
I find it difficult to articulate how much I love this band. I was left feeling a little ashamed of myself when I saw them on the Legacy tour because it had been a few years since I'd seen them and I'd been thinking that surely they'd be showing some signs of slowing down or taking things a bit easy but they proved me wrong massively!! I was in Manchester last Friday and again they just blew me away!! It's not just that they're good, it's that they are sooo good it's almost unbelievable!! No question in my mind, the best there's ever been!!
I saw the two shows in Krakow, and was equally blown away. Somewhere In Time is one of my absolute favorite Maiden albums, and to finally experience those songs live was something I had only dreamt of. The Senjutsu songs selected for this tour really work well in the live setting, the highlight for me being Hell On Earth. It's amazing what Maiden can do at this stage in their career.
A great review. I saw them in Glasgow last week with my 12 year old son, which was a dream come true for him. He waited literally all his life for this, fists chance to get seated seats for him in Scotland. He said it was the best night of his life and that he had tears in his eyes when they came on. This is the 5th time seeing them since the 84 Powerslave tour and I must say this is the best I've seen them since then. Totally agree, Bruce's voice was spot on. I can still hear him singing "time is always on my side" better than the album.
Thought Last week in Leeds was the best I’d ever seen Maiden in my 6 times, definitely the best gig for me. Most fun I’ve actually seen them had on stage too which made it even more fun with us the fans !!
I’m an American on holiday in Paris and London this week. Entirely by coincidence, I learn to find a long time friend and Maiden fan is also on vacation in London! Long story short, we made the easy to decision to buy tickets for Friday’s show at the O2! Up the Irons!!! (It’s especially awesome since SIT is my fav from the classic era and Senjutsu is my fav from the modern era!)
Thank you for sharing your journey and thoughts on the band. Personally, I don't care if a note or line is missed here and there. They bring it every time I ever have ever seen them.
Great to hear. Going to Birmingham tomorrow with a standing ticket (so I can get down the front!) but taking my 7 Year old son on Saturday to London for his first gig. We have crappy seats up in the gods but he's small so it works. Been waiting for this since I first got SiT back in '86 and missed the tour so it's a long time coming.
Again, I have to thank you for the times you went “live” on IG, especially for HoE!!! It really meant a lot that you invited us all into your experience! It was truly magical! Davey is absolutely killing it on this tour and is playing very intentionally. I always love his improvs, but to see him play at this age with even more tenacity than he did when he was young is fascinating to watch! 66 years old, and Adrian is looking cooler than ever. 😂 He’s so fun to watch, and his playing is blowing me away more now than ever! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!!!
I felt it was only right as so many people generously went live with the very first shows....especially those who did so in the first one. Angels is what they are! And honestly, it felt great to share some of that night with all of you 😃 And yeah how does H keep being so cool? Who's he think he is? Springsteen? 😜
I was fortunate too see the 2 shows in krakow and the one in Zurich… Awesome shows…got goosebumps when they played caught somewhere in time and Alexander… I’ve been i fan since I was 10 and now I’m 52 and I will never criticize the band…no one is perfect and if they mess up…so what…they are human beings and doing what they do at the age they are at..I applaud them and appreciate them even more… See you in Edmonton 🤘🤘🤘 UP THE IRONS!!!
sounds like an awesome concert, i have been amazed at some of the negative comments about the tour. When i am 71 i hope to be taking it easy never-mind playing an iron maiden set every few nights!!! These guys are legends, make the most if it as they wont be around for ever
My first ever Maiden show was "Somewhere on Tour" in 1986 in Madrid, Spain and "Caught Somewhere in Time" was the first song I ever saw them do live. Been to many shows since then but this one will definitely be special to me. I'll see it in about a month at the Wacken festival and I can't wait! Up the Irons!
Thanks for a great video!! 2023 Maiden are playing as tight and as good live as ever!! I saw them in Bergen and was blown away how good they are. I love the three axe approach of Maiden and all guitar players are important to the overall sound. Daves new custom shop strat looks so good in Olympic white and walnut neck, I hope they will bring a version of this out for us to buy soon.
@LicksOfTheBeast yes I thought it was a light sonic blue, but Daves guitar tech said it was olympic white and walnut neck along with standard Dave SD pickguard.
Last tour, they played in my hometown Curitiba (Brazil) and I was able to bring my daughter who was 7 yo at the time. She is not really into metal ( yet! :) ), but this opportunity to get her to a concert from the band I love was a memorable dad/daughter moment that I am sure we will never forget. It was a dream come true, something I was thinking about since she was born... "will I be able to get her to a Maiden show? Will they still be touring?". Live concerts are a very special event, specially with real live musicians that deliver that much even after so many years on the road. Up the irons!!!!
Saw them in Leeds on Wednesday. Fantastic. First saw maiden in 1992. They were as good as as back then. Bruce's vocal was unbelievably good. So many youngsters in the crowd brilliant. Lord of the lost were brilliant really enjoyed seeing them
A fan of your channel now. Thank you for the awesome review. I hope real Maiden fans are not too brutal in their mindless criticisms of our 6 heroes. They are human after all. I am a fan since 1981 and have been one since. All said, I do hope they will come over to Singapore again for this tour. The last one was in 2011 and its been long time since. Up The Irons!!
I saw them in Tampere and the show was even better than I expected. Murray and Smith were on fire! Alexander the Great was for me the highlight of the show, such a banger live! Saw them last time on the Book of Souls tour, and thought that Murray especially played much better on the current tour.
Thanks for your analysis - absolutely spot on. I saw them in Sheffield in 86 and Leeds last week and they transported me back to the 80s. It was the best I've seen them since the 80s and I have never seen the band look so happy and enthusiastic.
Saw them at Glasgow - agree with you they were fantastic and I was as excited as when I saw them in 86 Somewhere on Tour at the Odeon as a fresh faced teenager!!. The new songs are superb live, in particular Death of the Celts (with witty asides introducing it from Bruce as in Scotland) and Hell on Earth. I think a particular delight was The Prisoner with great energy live, it is so fun to play and the iconic intro. Take every opportunity to see them live now as who knows they can keep this level up in next few years.....also Nico once again I do appreciate your thoughtful analysis of maiden songs and performances and just appreciating the pure musicianship they still show at their age ....cheers and here's to more licks!
Thanks for the awesome, thoughtful comment! It's so great to read about other fans' positive experience at the shows and especially to know that others appreciate how this band is still going so strong, but also realize it shouldn't be taken for granted. 😊 Cheers! 🤜🤛
Doctor doctor gets you so pumped. Then the blade tunner theme you get chills. When caught somehwere in time starts i started crying. Blissed to have seen this tour. My friends wasnt so impressed, they expected another best of the best tour...
It's crazy how certain things trigger such a strong emotional response 😃 As for your friend, a large portion of the paying audience will inevitably feel that way... Which is why they still have to include songs FOTD and Trooper (and usually Hallowed and TNOTB) in their sets 🤷🏻🙂 Fortunately for us more hardcore fans, this tour is a little more aimed at us 🤘
I was at the first show in Ljubljana, and it was just unforgettable! I was blown away and I left the show feeling overjoyed! People kept pointing out mistakes the band made the opening night, and yet I haven't even noticed those mistakes when I was there. I guess I was just too busy having the time of my life!
Now that I've just come from the Dortmund Show I was able to watch this video in full. Great Video and I have to say I was amazed. Unbelievable great show.
I saw Iron Maiden first time ever in my life in Cracow 13th and my dreams finally came true. It was a mesmerising show. Although I wish they had played Hallowed Be Thy Name or something form BNW but nonetheless the setlist was amazing. I really enjoyed songs from Somewhere In Time and I think it's good that they decided to finally play them after long years. I was suprised when they announced the setlist and there was no Senjutsu or Stratego. They replaced it with Death of Celts and Time Machine and it was great to hear them live. Generally I am absolutely thrilled that I could see them live and I look forward to see them next year.
I agree 100%. Nico, you speak so eloquently and sum everything up so well. I went to the Manchester gig last week and was so impressed. The sound was immense and very well balanced.
Saw them last Tuesday in Dortmund. I am still lost for words. It was brillant :-) The Band was perfect in sync, although Bruce forgot the lyrics of the second verse of the Trooper. At last, Maiden played Alex The Great for the first time and after so many years they brought Caught Somewhere In Time and Stranger In A Strange Land back on stage. It was pure magic. This Tour was perfect for Adrian. On stage, he nailed everything.
Great review. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us. I'm just coming back from London where I saw Maiden play at the O2. Wonderful show as always! And the set list... It's my 7th Maiden gig so far, and maybe the best!
Thank you for being a voice of reason with your experience and expertise. I doubt there is anyone else that knows these songs as intimately as you do. UP THE IRONS!!! MAIDEN FOREVER!
I’m like you - Somewhere in Time is my favourite album. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen them, but this one was special - I purposefully stayed away from knowing anything about the set list so that I could just enjoy the show. Well…my favourite song is Alexander the Great, and I did not know they were finally going to play it. When I heard the wind and the intro, my jaw hit the floor. I just couldnt believe it. After that, it was perfection.
Me too. I stayed off RUclips for about 6 weeks until after the O2 last night. Like both of you, Somewhere in time is my favourite so I has purposefully avoided any spoilers in anticipation. When the bladerunner theme came on I thought my heart would explode in sheer joy. Don’t get all the complaints about the boys, they totally nailed it last night for me. Only disappointment was in Bruce’s little spiel before The Time Machine Bruce mentioned the words “Deja Vu” and a few of us went nuts thinking they would play that next! 😂
Agreed with everything you said. I definitely noticed slightly slower songs and fewer drum fills, but we have to accept that these guys are all in their 60s and nicko is 71! They were so good in Birmingham last night, best live show ive ever experienced. Seen them 3 times since 2005 but this was the best by far. Up the irons!
After night 1 show i took the boat from the o2 down the river a couple of miles then walked to my hotel, it was surreal, brought my 27 year old son with me for his first maiden show.
Saw them in Nottingham last night .. it really was an awesome show and I throughly enjoyed it .. I first saw Maiden in 1983 .. Piece of Mind Tour and again in 1985 on the World Slavery Tour and have followed them ever since
Saw them a couple of weeks ago in Birmingham UK. Overall they were the best I've seen them since back in the day. Bruce was frighteningly good. There were a couple of little hiccups with timing during Stranger in a Strange Land and Wasted Years, but it didn't detract from what was an absolutely fantastic show.
I really hope they release a live album based off this tour. Maiden live albums are always top notch and I would love to forever have this tour on vinyl for years of enjoyment !
Fantastic review and commentary my friend! I think this is one of the most complex and groundbreaking sets they've done since the Seventh Son tour back in '88. So many new and old songs to perform for the first time, which completely take them out of their comfort zone and at their age, pull it off brilliantly. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm buzzing with excitement for seeing them in Murcia later this month. Keep up the good work and Up The Irons! Robin
Yes I compared Caught Somewhere in Time from Paris live recording with Future Past tour and despite the fact Bruce's voice was so powerful and agressive back then, he sang it better now in terms of skills.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us… so very jealous, but at the same time happy you got to see a band you absolutely love. Hears hoping they add some US east coast tours 🙏🏼🧎🏻
I've been a fan since 1990. Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son captured my heart and my imagination. I've seen the band live many times, but I think they are performing at a peak level right now. Bruce is absolutely killing it. I was worried that he would decline after the previous tour which had some weak moments. The entire setlist is killer. I can't wait for a live album and even better, I hope to see them perform live again! Great video!
Brilliant summary of an unforgettable tour. Saw them in Glasgow and it was phenomenal. Bruce sounded amazing and hearing Alexander The Great was a privilege. Love the channel, please keep them coming.
I saw them in Dortmund the week before and I have to say I'm blown away (again) by them, the setlist, the sound, everything to perfection. They sound live so unbelievably good! I was especially impressed by Adrians first heavy Part in Days of Future Past 🤘
Great insights man, thanks for that. I went to the Dublin concert, which was the first time ever for me seeing them play live. Great experience. I am happy I managed to make it before they retired. When it comes to Nico, I thought he was class. I am 44 and sometimes getting slightly depressed about the time passing by, but he, still rocking at the age of 70, gives me hope.
That's awesome! The fact that when someone says they're seeing them for the first time now, I don't even have the slightest thoughts of "too bad, you should have seen them back in the day" just makes me so happy 😃
Awesome. I went to the show on Friday. I also managed to fulfill an ambition to take my 13 year old son for the first time. We had standing tickets and had a fantastic time
Seen them on every tour since Virtual XI in 1998, and this is up there with the best they've done. I saw them in Manchester last Friday. It was a dream come true to finally see them play Caught Somewhere In Time, Stranger In A Strange Land and Alexander The Great. The Prisoner sounded brilliant too, and all the Senjutsu stuff. Blaze was also at this gig as a guest, but he was sat watching with all the fans. My mate bumped into him in the toilet 😂
Awesome review Nico. Thanks for making this video. I’m still in love with the new white Strat Dave is playing. I hope they make a production model of that one.
If they make a production model of that strat, it will be pretty up there in price but I might be very tempted to grab it cause it's an absolute beauty!
I saw the first show in Ljubljana - it was so refreshing after the Legacy tour, the setlist was awesome, new stage and stuff. Seeing them play this well makes me think there's no way they're gonna retire any time soon.
I love all of iron maiden. Hearing Stratego live was amazing. I hope they come to America. Stranger in a strange Land is one of my favorite songs of all time
i haven't seen them since 96, going to see them at the o2 on Friday night never been soooooooooooooo excited to see them and i'm 57 i feel as giddy as a teenager UpThe Irons!!!!
Alan I’m 56 and have been a fan of them since early 1980, I’ve seen them a few times over the years. Saw them at Leeds last week, you won’t be disappointed 🎸🎸
@@madmike4622 First concert was in 82 beast on the Road tour then 6 times in between on numerous tours then actually it was just before Bruce left after fear of the dark tour 93? even longer so i'm well overdue to see the boys again cant wait cheers matey.
I was at Leeds and it was my first time despite being a fan since ‘83! It was amazing and really emotional for me. Picking up your comment about the finger picking CSiT; I noticed Steve is more economical than he used to be with his right hand. The flourishes are gone in favour of a consistent light touch. Even ‘Arry has his limits it seems
That's an interesting observation! For me as a guitarist that is more a sign of experience and finer skill but I guess it did make for an exciting visual performance... Interestingly, I saw a video by a bassist who said he asked Steve about his technique (I think after a British Lion show) and he said his light touch is how he gets that clacking sound. I am not nearly good enough a bassist to comment, but I thought it was an interesting thing to say. 🤷🏻
@@LicksOfTheBeast As a bassist I'm totally with Steve, light touch and chalk on your fingers to make it even lighter (for us non bass gods:). Then you get the Harris click'a'ti'clack. Prefer playing his stuff on a Jazz Bass though. Don't get how he does it on a Precision Bass tbh.
Death of the Celts seemed like an obvious choice for a live set, especially since it has a vibe a bit similar to The Clansman. I first saw Maiden live in 2003. I am absolutly blown away that they are still this good live in 2023.
Thanks for your insight, Nico! It was great to see you talking about the tour so passionately and i hope i can see them on this tour if they come to Brazil!! Cheers
I was at the Zurich show. It was great. Lots of people complaining about Adrian simplifying some things and Nico. Well here is my opinion, go pick up a instrument, form a band, get huge and travel the world for 40 plus years, then play everything the exact same as you did when your were 19,20,21. See how you do. Nico still hits the hell out of those drums at 71. More than alot of 20 somethings do. If you don’t like what they are doing do go to the show. Leave more seats for the rest of us
@@LicksOfTheBeast hey, i believe you said your in Canada right? Im thinking to go to two of the shows there. Which is your opinion for better choice. Calgary and Edmonton. Or Edmonton and Vancouver? Thanks
@robbean284 We're doing Edmonton and Vancouver because it works better with our work schedule, but Calgary/Edmonton requires less flying because you can drive to Edmonton in just a few hours from Calgary. I'm guessing Vancouver will have a pretty fun vibe because more people traveling for that show, but then again since they're the only north american shows this year (aside from power trip) there will probably be people traveling for all three!
gonna be a crime if they dont release a live dvd of this tour
I doubt we get a DVD, if anything they'll just do what they did for book of souls
Expecting an oficial live performing. Material they had certanly. I thik they keping for later
Oh yes , thats right !!
Off course they will release something, maybe not a DVD but RUclips video selection is a certain
It's a must ,period.
Saw them at the 02, London last night and they were phenomenal!!! 😎🤘
And now we know more about Nicko`s situation, im blown away by how he came back after that, im almost speechless its so amazing!!
I've seen Maiden since the 80's, and this set is on par with the best sets from that era - with one big difference - Bruce is actually singing better..!
Me and my brother saw them in Manchester, England and Bruce's vocals were the best in years. Fantastic to see Somewhere in Time get some love
@@rob91deth 🤟and having to treat cancer too!! Bruce is a great singer.
Thanks for your defense of Nicko Mcbrain, so many people commenting without knowledge.
Hes 71, he has to play economically else there is a chance he won't make it through the tour because of exhaustion and/or arthritis problems.
Nicko is a legend!

I saw them in Amsterdam last night.. the show gave me goosebumps a few times..
Yesterday I whas in Antwerp. I swear it was so cool and I can shed a tear...
Second night at London O2 was awesome
So was the first! I was at both
It's considered good parenting to take your kids to an Iron Maiden show! I took my baby (16) to see them in 2022. It was amazing! I hope they come back to the US soon so we can make more memories 🔥🤘🎸

The London shows were amazing, I flew there from Colorado for both nights
I was there, too. It was a cracker of a show. Yeh, the gong-fail was funny!!
Saw them in Leeds last week for the first time, blew me away how good they sounded. What a show !
Bruce sounds unbelieveably good here, i'm seeing them in london on saturday and cannot wait!
I would love to be there, Somewhere in time is their pinnacle
Oh that's absolutely amazing!!! Who's chopping onions in here?? 🥹
@@LicksOfTheBeast I don't know, but he's a chip off the old block.
I was there in Glasgow and it was the best concert I've ever been to. It was truly great.
I´m gonna see them at the end of the month in Frankfurt as my first "big" concert ever. Couldn´t be more excited!
With good reason! I've no doubt it'll be an awesome experience 🤘
Saw the show in Leeds UK, my 1st Maiden show since 1990. They were fantastic. The show intro and opener was incredible
I was happy with death of the celts, it is my favourite from the album
Thought Last week in Leeds was the best I’d ever seen Maiden in my 6 times, definitely the best gig for me. Most fun I’ve actually seen them had on stage too which made it even more fun with us the fans !!
Steve said he wished they recorded the concerts in 86/87,but there will be one this time👍👍
I’m an American on holiday in Paris and London this week.
For little kids, I think sitting a bit further away is always a good bet!
I'm sure it'll be an awesome time for you both 😃🤘
Again, I have to thank you for the times you went “live” on IG, especially for HoE!!!
And honestly, it felt great to share some of that night with all of you 😃
And yeah how does H keep being so cool? Who's he think he is? Springsteen? 😜
Can’t wait to see this tour, am going to both nights at the O2 this coming weekend…
Glad you had a good trip 👍
Saw them in Bergen and they were so good!! Enjoy the O2 gig!!
Have a great time!
I was fortunate too see the 2 shows in krakow and the one in Zurich…
Awesome shows…got goosebumps when they played caught somewhere in time and Alexander…
I’ve been i fan since I was 10 and now I’m 52 and I will never criticize the band…no one is perfect and if they mess up…so what…they are human beings and doing what they do at the age they are at..I applaud them and appreciate them even more…
See you in Edmonton 🤘🤘🤘
UP THE IRONS!!!
Cheers and see you there!
sounds like an awesome concert, i have been amazed at some of the negative comments about the tour. When i am 71 i hope to be taking it easy never-mind playing an iron maiden set every few nights!!!
These guys are legends, make the most if it as they wont be around for ever
Excellent review, especially the insights on guitar parts.
That strat is unbelievable!!
Was in Bergen with my 8 year old son:)
I love reading about stuff like this. Amazing!!
That shirt looks incredible!
Cheers! 🤜🤛
Doctor doctor gets you so pumped. Then the blade tunner theme you get chills. When caught somehwere in time starts i started crying. Blissed to have seen this tour. My friends wasnt so impressed, they expected another best of the best tour...
It's crazy how certain things trigger such a strong emotional response 😃
As for your friend, a large portion of the paying audience will inevitably feel that way... Which is why they still have to include songs FOTD and Trooper (and usually Hallowed and TNOTB) in their sets 🤷🏻🙂
Fortunately for us more hardcore fans, this tour is a little more aimed at us 🤘
I was at the first show in Ljubljana, and it was just unforgettable! I was blown away and I left the show feeling overjoyed! People kept pointing out mistakes the band made the opening night, and yet I haven't even noticed those mistakes when I was there. I guess I was just too busy having the time of my life!
There you go! Thank you!
THAT is exactly why I think shows are meant to be experienced and not overly analyzed 😃
Now that I've just come from the Dortmund Show I was able to watch this video in full. Great Video and I have to say I was amazed. Unbelievable great show.
I'm seeing them in London next Saturday...can't wait
Awesome my friend, thank you so much .....Up The Irons...
Can't wait for a live album from this tour.
Hi Nicko, it's nice to finally hear someone defending them in a rational way. thanks for that insight.
Watched them in Leeds and they were fantastic. Seen them many times and this was my favourite show
you are the best hard core Maiden fan I know about. Up the Irons🤘
On stage, he nailed everything.
agree! I was there, too. Beautiful show, they really seemed to enjoy themselves!
Great review. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us. I'm just coming back from London where I saw Maiden play at the O2. Wonderful show as always! And the set list... It's my 7th Maiden gig so far, and maybe the best!
Again an excellent review 👍
Thank you for being a voice of reason with your experience and expertise. I doubt there is anyone else that knows these songs as intimately as you do. UP THE IRONS!!! MAIDEN FOREVER!
Hey thanks so much, brother! 🤜🤛
Thanks for this review! They are still great live performers!
Wow! You managed to stay in the dark until seeing the show live?? Amazing!!
Good on you for pulling that off, man! Cheers 🤜🤛
What a great show, just got back from the one in the UK
They are simply the best
Nico, Thanks for Sharing Your Experience @ The Iron Maiden Shows! Awesome!
Piece of Mind Tour and again in 1985 on the World Slavery Tour and have followed them ever since
Amazing! Must have been such a trip to see them when they were still climbing their way to the top!!
I believe that is the plan! 🙂
make it a Bluray!! or in this day and age perhaps it could be streaming on RUclips ?
Fantastic review and commentary my friend! I think this is one of the most complex and groundbreaking sets they've done since the Seventh Son tour back in '88. So many new and old songs to perform for the first time, which completely take them out of their comfort zone and at their age, pull it off brilliantly. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm buzzing with excitement for seeing them in Murcia later this month. Keep up the good work and Up The Irons! Robin
Thanks so much and I hope you have the best time in Murcia!!
Don’t apologize sir, your scrutiny and analysis are perfection! Thank you Nicko!!!!!
Yes I compared Caught Somewhere in Time from Paris live recording with Future Past tour and despite the fact Bruce's voice was so powerful and agressive back then, he sang it better now in terms of skills.
I saw them in Leeds. The setlist was badass
Seen them in 88 there no way they are better now than in 88 not even close
Brilliant summary of an unforgettable tour. Saw them in Glasgow and it was phenomenal. Bruce sounded amazing and hearing Alexander The Great was a privilege. Love the channel, please keep them coming.
Much much appreciated, thank you!
I saw them in Dortmund the week before and I have to say I'm blown away (again) by them, the setlist, the sound, everything to perfection. They sound live so unbelievably good!
I was especially impressed by Adrians first heavy Part in Days of Future Past 🤘
Oh dude... Doesn't that riff sounds soooo good live??! 😃🤘
We had standing tickets and had a fantastic time
That's absolutely awesome!!
So glad to read you had such a good time together 😃🤘
Amazing video! Saw them in Prague this year and, even if it was the third show of the tour, they performed awesome!!!
Blaze is all class!
Saw them last week at Leeds not my first time seeing them and they were superb.😊
Awesome review Nico. Thanks for making this video.
I’m still in love with the new white Strat Dave is playing. I hope they make a production model of that one.
Love that Strat, crazy that his sunburst Strat is now more than 20 years old.
If they make a production model of that strat, it will be pretty up there in price but I might be very tempted to grab it cause it's an absolute beauty!
5th time seeing them and possibly the best. They were absolutely on top form!
Awesome night in Glasgow, no complaints…Up the Irons!
Cheers!! 🤜🤛
Watching them in Nottingham tonight on my birthday .. Cant wait !! 🤘
Happy Birthday 🎉
Have an awesome night! 🤜🤛
@@LicksOfTheBeast Thank you I will !!👍🤘
Absolutely brilliant tonight ... Bruce's voice was outstanding !!
I first saw them in 1983....... ditto
Seen them in Manchester, absolutely brilliant.
Leave more seats for the rest of us
Agreed 1000%!
