      Extrapolating on the “we get the politicians we deserve”, I guess rock bands get the fans they deserve. Maiden always gave 100%, did not sell out, never cut corners, etc. So, we are still here 40+ years later.

Truly one of the most epic Ambassadors for Maiden who has ever walked the Earth 🔥🦇 I would like to see even more footage of the band when you share about a concert experience, just like you did for the section with Bruce b/c the visuals and music really punctuates what you are describing. Love your comment about Steve's look at the crowd after Hell on Earth. Pure epicness. Thank you!!!!!! Rock on 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼

    When I saw them in Calgary I went with a couple friends who didn't really know the Senjutsu album or the deeper cuts from Somewhere In Time, some of the songs they heard for the first time on our 8 hour drive to the show but they enjoyed the concert just as much as I did, they said it didn't matter that they didn't really know the songs, Maiden is just so good live. They are definitely the best live band I've ever seen I just hope I haven't seen them for the last time what with their ages and health problems. UP THE IRONS!

    i saw in interview with steve, and he said that he wasnot expecting playing til the 60 years old. Logistics and travel is much more easier than a couple of years ago.
    Its funny to see young artists, local artists, cancelling a gig because of too much work
    Kiss been doign the same set for 20 years now. Totally in the comfort zone.

    • @LicksOfTheBeast
      @LicksOfTheBeast  11 месяцев назад +1

      To be fair, young artists and local artists don't have access to the same logistics and comforts. They also have to pay things upfront as the days of record labels fronting everything and recouping later are pretty much long gone. I also think people are much more aware of the risks and negative impact associated with pushing too hard too soon. Again, people back in the day had no expectations of longevity for artists. Fortunately that has changed drastically for the better! 😊

    Nothing will ever top Live After Death. But they should absolutely release a live video/album in some form from this tour. I‘d be surprised, if they haven’t already planned for this.
    I do wonder though, how they would treat Nicko‘s drumming issues. Say as you will, but it is noticeable. The honest way would be to release a show as it is, which I would be absolutely ok with. Not sure how I would feel, if they would doctor in some drum fills or what now.
    Anyhow, this is just speculation. Thanx for another cool show review. 🤘🏻

      He was almost back to his regular self, if they do a live album, it's most likely going to be from the US, or south american legs of the tour. They could also cherry pick the best song from many multiple shows from both years, like they did for the book of souls live chapter

    • @LicksOfTheBeast
      @LicksOfTheBeast  11 месяцев назад +2

      A live album is for sure in the works considering the reason they're doing this tour is exactly because the original SIT tour was not captured officially.
      I honestly didn't hear any issues with the drumming... It's been simplified to adapt to the current situation, but it's sounding tight and solid throughout.

      @@LicksOfTheBeast I will try to make it. I penciled it in! Would have been great to see you indeed. Ran into an old Montreal Maiden friend right as I walked into the area in Calgary so a similar thing happened! \m/

    Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts Nico, always enjoyable! I’m very excited for all that’s happening and expected to happen in 2024 (Bruce and Adrian and Roy Z on tour with a new album!!). I sure hope that part of the equation will be for US dates for the Future Past tour. Why doesn’t Iron Maiden throw in a new album on top of everything else?!! 🤘🤘🤘

      With British Lion also touring in January, I'm sure 2024 will be even busier for the boys than this past year... Ditto for me, I guess...😅🤘

    Thank you very much Nico for sharing!
    I saw them in Vancouver, and honestly, I thought the sound quality would be much better. To me, it sounded like club music! Especially, the guitar sounds could not be distinguished.
    By the way, it was my first Maiden concert. Maybe I expected too much from a live heavy metal show in terms of the sound.

      It's not the feeling I got at all...but life is unpredictable so I'm just glad to see them play with such love for the music at a stage in my life when I certainly did not expect to still be doing so!

    A band is as good as their deep cuts. The fact that Iron Maiden can pull THAT setlist with only 3 of their usual classics and still make the audience crazy is a testament to that. I think if they release a PROSHOT video it will be as good as Rock in Rio and I would dare to say even bette than Live After Death. (not a fan of the Live After Death video, the show is way too short and Bruce sounds burned out). UP THE IRONS!

    Their "Legacy" ended with No Prayer For The Dying. They've been a shadow of their former selves ever since. They can still play. Bruce still sounds great. But they haven't written a decent song in 20 years. Meanwhile, everything from Number to 7th Son holds up as a masterpiece. And that solo at 6:45 blows.

      luckily maiden don't listen to people stuck in the past like you who only listen to stuff from the 80s. the only reason they continue to tour is because of them writing new songs and playing those live.

    • @NelsonMontana1234
      @NelsonMontana1234 11 месяцев назад

      @@benjambreeg Nah, you're confused. It isn't the past that appeals to me. It's simply that many artists have a vital period, and Maiden had one that was amazing. Paul McCartney doesn't write songs as good as he used to. Is that being "stuck in the past?" Must I accept sub par material because it's new? Maiden continues to tour because they love it and they make good money doing it. Good for them That doesn't mean I have to think it's good. But you can feel free to enjoy it by all means. Some people like Dave Matthews and Quiet Riot songs. Go figure. That's their right.

      You'll not find many arguing that's not Maiden's purple patch, you're deluded if they've not done a single decent track in 20 years but you got your attention so fair dues innit.

    • @NelsonMontana1234
      @NelsonMontana1234 11 месяцев назад

      @@Aurainmaker If they didn't do the earlier material I would say that some stuff was pretty good because it's basically re-writings of earlier stuff. I do like Tailgunner , which is ironically the first song on the album that was their demise. It was downhill after that.
