What happened to BRUCE DICKINSON on The Future Past Tour? Iron Maiden live reaction

  • «What’s going on with Bruce Dickinson at the Future Past Tour» is one of the most asked questions by Iron Maiden fans these days… and I have to be honest with you rightfully so.
During the first shows of The Future Past Tour Bruce Dickinson was extremely concentrated on every step he takes and every word he says… yet after, when it looks like he himself believed that this tour is doable something changed, and Bruce started having an abnormal amount of fun on stage!
Wether it is prancing to Stranger in a Strange Land, interacting with the other band members or picking a fake Alexander the Great helmet thrown from the crowd and fooling around with it,
Even when he broke the gong he thought it was hilarious that it happened in the first place. And in addition it looks like he used the break in between tours to really take care of his voice as he actually sounds much better than he did last year… and what is even more important - much more effortlessly then he did in at a previous tour.
But most importantly, he once again seems to be having way more fun engaging with the audience than he did in a long time… both the young fans right there at the barrier, and the seated crowd. So why is it so? Let's take a look!

@@SMEDSRUDmusicYou're being a bit dramatic. Bruce is annoying at times, but that'sabout it. And they definitely ARE metal. To be rock, a band has to have some 'rock 'n roll' about them, a little bit of looseness. Maiden aren't like that at all, infact they're pretty stiff. But that's cool. They tried to be rock when they covered 'communication breakdown' and it was abysmal.

It’s as if he’s at peace with it, has accepted it and has (finally) grown into the role…and is loving it in the process. He absolutely appears to be having more fun than ever, and that seems to be resulting in better vocal performances than we’ve seen in years. Loved the show and when they finished with Wasted Years, I felt as though it was a fitting way to end a show (don't worry about things, let's enjoy what we have). I may be romanticising it a little.

Bruce sounded at his best in his Brave New World run in my opinion.. and his cleans this tour absolutely rivals that era. He sounds just as good as he sounded in Rock in Rio

It has taken him a long to recover from his cancer and then he did not have time to do much as it was straight back into making the new album as her said in an interview, he is back to his quirky self, like he was back in the 90's he is now enjoying the end road and i feel this will be the last tour for them, unlike what kiss did there are not making a Digi self to keep it going there are always a live band like harries as said, so after his new solo album tour and iron mains tour this is something he is living up on, and good on him for doing at his age, and this is why we all love him and iron maiden.🤘

(I still call it the Point) 🤣 will never forget that gig as long as i live!! saw them in 2015 in brazil Belo Horizonte. they looked tired then!! i had to go and see them cos i think this is most likely the last time they will play in Dublin again... i pray i am wrong 🙏 one of the greatest live bands out there with brilliant studio albums, UP THE IRONS!!

Bruce has always had great presence on stage his banter and antics were always part of what makes them such a great live act. It does seem this tour he's even more than usual as you pointed out which is great to see. The band in general seem to be having a blast with this tour and as time is marching on so the end must be not too far it's nice to see them still enjoying it.

Bruce expressed himself about not being crazy to sing too dark and heavy mood lyrics that Harris is used to write and the last album was too much even for the die hard fans. I think he was like “finally that sh*t is over” and he just enjoyed singing the finally refreshed setlist that we listened during this tour.

i went to see them at the o2 on this tour and i was blown away by the level of performance these guys showed, i last saw them in 1993 and they were good then, but this was possibly the best show ever, Bruce's vocals were exceptional and don't forget this guy has fought cancer on the tongue, so to be able to perform like this is truly amazing, all i can say is these guys are man machines Up The Irons!! Regarding what you said about the last tour seeming more like a "job" for Bruce, I imagine at least some of it had to do with his hip? I know for the pre-pandemic leg of Legacy of the Beast he was in a LOT of pain and working hard not to show it, and I wonder if he was still building up his mobility during the second half of the tour when it resumed in 2022. But I also happen to think he overextended himself with Legacy as well; too many costume changes, too many props, he had to concentrate on getting all of that right and keeping it all working that I'm sure it felt like work, even if he enjoyed the spectacle of it all!

He says that Bruce came all the way from London to the Festival by BYCICLE, yes riding a f* BYCICLE. He change clothes and went up the stage to sing. Yes my friends, and some pop singers has to use playback to performe...

I caught them at the Leeds, UK date; despite being a Maiden fan for more than 30 years & since childhood (I'm 43) this is the first time I've seen them live and what a performance. It was absolutely phenomenal; Bruce's vocals were amazing despite such a tough setlist (especially Alexander the Great) and I hope I move as well as him when I'm 64 - he seemed to have boundless energy. Nicko, Steve, Adrian, Janick & Dave all seemed to be drinking in every last moment too, as if they know that it can't go on for too much longer. If this turns out to be their final arena tour, I'm so glad I managed to see it. I hope not, of course!
