Great video! Defiantly saving this for when we get ours. Only part I will have an issue with is the color selection since I have a hard time seeing them. Angie said she will do that part lol.
I just bought this machine due to your video. I work in an oil refinery and wasn’t sure if this is something I can do, but your video has given me the confidence to take a chance.
Another excellent video with a lot of good information. I absolutely love my mighty hoops. And the hooping station is a game changer. Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t done any appliqués yet but I was thinking I’d try to use the uv to precut the shapes so I wouldn’t have to try and cut with scissors. Appreciate the video!
Good news! You're not going to have much competition because all of the commercial models are sold out. I'd thought about purchasing one of these machines to make patches for motorcycle jackets.
Could you do a breakdown of how much you have made so far and how much do you charge so people can understand that a good way of doing a price sheet thank you
@@laserengravingwithmatt something that I did not say is that I have true palsy and I’m legally blind. I would like to speak to you to see if we could help me with my business.
I wish I saw this before using the machine 😢 Tension has been off and I have been messing with the knobs. Gonna try that three clicks down and restore the knob strength and see how it goes later. Do you use the table at all? Noticing you can't using if intending on using the hats.
Awesome video as always Matt! Do you have a link to order your embroidery items? I would like to check out the quality of the Smartstich made hats before ordering the machine and going down another rabbit hole, lol.
Morning, Matt! You mentioned that the embroidery is now 1/2 the business. From a business standpoint, how did you market that new segment? The ramp up seems to have been pretty swift. How has that changed your turn around on the laser side customers?
Well 😄 nothing it is all by the word of mouth. Now that people are coming into the shop to pick their stuff up. They are seeing that machine working and I get more orders that way I have not put anything online whatsoever and it is steady busy. I told Sara we would need two more machines before we post anything online.
Hello Matt, When you use Transfer Tape on laser engravings, do you wash the wood in the sink afterwards? Or add varnish? Or nothing? When i´m washing the wood in the sink, I feel that much of the color disappears and the wood warps? And how do you handle the wood if you don't use Transfer Tape? (I make wood designs about 40x40cm in size, single layer)
Oh no never put the wood in the sink. If I use transfer tape, I don’t need to wipe it down. I might have to sand an edge or two a little bit with a piece of sandpaper, but because of the transfer tape, it never has burn marks. Some projects I don’t do anything with it and I’ll leave it as is some I have to clearcoat and some I paint or varnish.
@@laserengravingwithmatt Good evening! Thank you for taking the time to educate me! I’ve been using lasers and cnc router (4 lasers and a onefinity router)for a few years now, and we are currently looking into embroidery as we get closer to retirement. My question concerns software and what is best for SmartStitch machines. Do you have someone digitize for you or do you use a program that creates the proper file type? We purchased a old used baby lock to learn on(mistake) and are eager to take the next step. Regards, Barry
Fellow Minnesotan here! I just purchased this machine and would love to shoot a couple questions your way if you whenever you are free if you are up for it! Your vid was helpful but I have a couple other issues. SKOL Vikes and appreciate any help here!

My 1201 came with the curved scissors. It also came with a bobbin spool machine. I haven't used that yet.
Yes same.

Matt i love your videos! Just got my machine last week. Love it so far. Where did you buy the different needle plate you showed? Thanks!
It comes with it. It is in the tool box.
Matt have you looked at Ink stitch for digitizing software? It has a learning curve but it allows you to modify the stitch direction.
Yes I have tried every free 30 day program and I got hatch.
thanks for your tips on this embroidery machine big guy, been thinking about getting one
👍😃
Can't thank you enough for your help brother, love your content thanks for what you do!

I use the 5.5 and I haven’t needed to go over the 3.5 size yet

NO never use PVC it will destroy your machine.

Matt, where did you get the magnetic hoops?
Through Smart stitch website
How big can you embroider with this machine?!
I think 24”. I need to measure it

Would you say the parts used in this machine are universal?
I don’t know if haven’t had to replace any

I noticed the digitizer is no longer listed. Is he no longer accepting new clients?

Any chance are you using Embrilliance stitch artist?
