i so agree this record shows macs more mature side and he really just has so much insight into himself i love him so much like we are so lucky to exist in the same time he does ya know his music thoroughly changed me.
I liked My Old Man most out of the songs on the new album. The rest of the songs were good but they didn't really click with me a 100 percent to be honest. Sometimes I caught myself barely listening which usually doesn't happen when I listen to a good album but maybe it will grow on me. I just wished to get more of the catchy riff and solo Mac on this album.

I love Andy so god damn much, his solo on this old dog is soooo good. Reminds me of something that David Gilmour would do, I love it.
theIJPmexican As a huge floyd and DeMarco fan, personally it sounds nothing like Gilmour and Andy isn't half as competent a guitar player as David
No question about that - still, Andy's solo is damn fine
If you haven't already, check out Andy's other band with his brother, Ed - Tonstartssbandht. It's very different and pretty much his dream band, really great imo however
Sorry but no doesn't sound remotely close to Gilmour. Gilmour is basically a spaced out blues guitarists. He does a lot of high bends and actually isn't that reliant on effects despite the fact Floyd are known for using a multitude of effects. The solo Andy played here was completely reliant on effects.. not to belittle his guitar talent.. But the reason this solo sounded so cool was because of how he utilized effects. And it wasn't very bluesy at all... just very trippy and psychedelic.
