I liked My Old Man most out of the songs on the new album. The rest of the songs were good but they didn't really click with me a 100 percent to be honest. Sometimes I caught myself barely listening which usually doesn't happen when I listen to a good album but maybe it will grow on me. I just wished to get more of the catchy riff and solo Mac on this album.

As an ex heavy smoker myself I appreciate Mac's message to not copy him because people think its cool. It is a crippling addiction that literally costs you a fortune to kill yourself in a very slow and painful way. I thought it was a good thing for him to do and completely unprompted by anyone. Much respect.
If you haven't already, check out Andy's other band with his brother, Ed - Tonstartssbandht. It's very different and pretty much his dream band, really great imo however
Sorry but no doesn't sound remotely close to Gilmour. Gilmour is basically a spaced out blues guitarists. He does a lot of high bends and actually isn't that reliant on effects despite the fact Floyd are known for using a multitude of effects. The solo Andy played here was completely reliant on effects.. not to belittle his guitar talent.. But the reason this solo sounded so cool was because of how he utilized effects. And it wasn't very bluesy at all... just very trippy and psychedelic.
