I commented a few years ago, on the Salad Days album vid, that Mac & Co should start jamming more in between their tunes at their shows... I got a bunch of tweens telling me Mac isn't "Dad rock"....and here he is in 2017, jamming, stretching the parts where they can jam out and playing what I can only assume is what these little dweebs would call "Dad rock". LOL. I knew Mac was a Head at the time, it's no surprise that he's starting to jam and get a bit psychedelic. That's where it's at.
One of my favorite things about Mac DeMarco will always be his ability to translate the "local gig" vibe not just to recordings but to performances like these. Noice.

Sure but it's wrong to call the whole song "improvisation". There is some improvisation in a lot of his live songs, that doesn't make the whole song improvised. This was a cover of Gypsy Woman.
I somehow started listening to him since 2021. I'm a massive Mac Miller fan and it always came up once I'm searching somewhere for Mac Miller. Few weeks ago I've shamazed apparently "Chamber of reflections" and now I'm deep into all of his songs. It's very good! But to come back to your comment. I've been to Sziget and I can tell you- It's massive. This mainstage probably attracts 100,000 people.
It’s funny how I first heard Gypsy Woman less than a month ago and it absolutely blew my mind. I was literally crazy about the song just a couple of weeks ago. I still am kinda. And then I somehow give Mac another try. I knew about him because Im a huge Tyler fan but I never got into Mac for real. So, these days I am vibing to Mac’s music real heavy. I mean its really crazy. 😁 And today I randomly put on this concert and I hear Crystal synth, Haha, I was like: wait, whaaaaaaaat🥰🥰🥰🥰 blessings
Kinda hard to play a song without counting it in, unless Mac decides to switch from old-school rock floor wedges to in-ears and have the drummer cue by just starting the metronome.
This was peak drunk Mac, I think I seen him on this European tour. When he was on it, it’s incredible. But it was too easy to cross into shit arrogant territory. When I seen him it wasn’t a great venue, he did a 12 minute version of “A Thousand Miles” but the only lyrics were “making my way downtown” and lost the crowd. I’ve never seen a venue turn on it’s lights so quickly after the set
Soumitra Saxena that's the genius of Mac. His inspirations, like Steely Dan, Dire Straights.etc are as strongly amalgamated into his own sound and more out influences. He's the only one who can pull it off

muskoka days jajajajajajaja I really didn't know It, cause I heard of Mac for the first time 2 weeks ago and now i'm listening to him all the time .It's even better than Clapton studio version of it (the guitar Solo in one more car one more rider...)! Thank you!
So I’ve gone through a lot of these live set videos. And I noticed that Mac almost never plays “My Kind of Woman,” which is odd since it’s probably his most popular song. Is there any reason behind it?
He can't hit some of the notes anymore. In an interview, he even said smoking was starting to affect his vocals. I saw him live in May in Nashville and he did play the song but had the crowd sing in the parts where he had issues hitting the notes.
Another turn, another shift One last kiss from her lips Another dream you're putting down After all this time, it turns out all you found Is one more love out to break your heart Set it up just to watch it fall apart Another try, another go Never thought you'd feel this low Another dream put to bed After all this time, it turns out all you had Is one more love out to break your heart Set it up just to watch it fall apart One more love out to break your heart Set it up just to watch it fall apart
1:15:15 honestly if i would be the dude in the background i would just sit down infront of the drumset for that song if that would be my only job during this track
Every time a new Mac live performance gets uploaded its like a whole new album to me
I feel this so hard, you don't even know
i've seen this before..

very true actually
@@nilsgustafsson7571 maybe he meant they didn't really rehearse the song, and just kinda improvised it on the spot

Mac DeMarco is among my most listened to artists this year. I never get tired of listening to it every day. 🖤
same for me
25:26 is the highlight of the concert. The synth elevator tone on that keyboard and Mac's vocals is a once in a lifetime experience.

love the Crytsal Waters - Gypsy woman jam session hahaha 26:00
Moonlight on the river isn't even Moonlight on the river if Mac DeMarco doesn't have a cigarette in between his lips as he plays
Is Matt Mondanile (formerly Real Estate, now Ducktails) just hanging out on stage, pouring Mac a drink and occasionally shaking an egg?
yep
if you can't play egg, just learn bacon instead *shrug*
what would Mac say about sexual harassment allegations against Matt?
+Alejandro Gonzalez was this befor or after?
The Sziget Festival was in August, the allegations against Matt came out in October or something.
Those tempo changes on their jam sessions are a thing of beauty..

Is that Matt Mondanile aka Ducktails?

Agree
this is very chill, mac is beautiful
Macs songs are even better live
this guy is one of the best things happens to the world

And the other one is a Gibson acoustic
That keyboard guy lookin just like Matthew Mcconaughey in Dazed and Confused
EARTHBOUND!!!!!!! Mac is awesome.
