I always miss 1 piece maybe it's destiny happens to me in every Zelda Game. My reaction to this video at least Knowing half of this things is "20 Years later and playing ot 200 times How could still be so many secrets I don't know about??" It's creepy how ot has so much lore and secrets that you cannot know until someone teaches you!
The first time I played Zelda Link To The Past was the Japanese Super Famicom version on my Super Famicom I had bought with a voltage converter. The game was really difficult because it was hard to figure out what to do next because the text was in Japanese but I struggled through it. When it came out here in English I had finished the Japanese version many times so I knew everything to do. I remember they had a demo cart at a Captron Nintendo video game store before the game was officially released and I played the game there and the employees and gamers watching me couldn't believe how good I was at the game. They thought I was playing it for the first time and marveled at me being able to figure out where to go and what to do next so fast. They didn't know I had already completed the Japanese Super Famicom version dozens of times. I had a lot of fun impressing everyone at how good at the game I was. I did the same thing with Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. Completed the Japanese Super Famicom version before the game was released here. There was a Japanese toy store in downtown Los Angeles and I went there and bought all the Super Famicom RPG's before they came out here.
Who else had this in their recommended in 2018 and was mind blown by the first few seconds? This is my first Zelda game, back when I was a little shit. I have played this numerous times and I knew about the Chris Houlihan room but NOT about most of these other things
That fish held his breath for a solid two minutes! What a badass!!! I think everyone who had Link's Awakening on Gameboy figured out the attacking chickens thing the hard way lol I'm playing this now and haven't touched a chicken so far! :)
The only thing I didn’t know was about sprinkling the sweeping woman to make her disappear. The rest I discovered myself including that CH room! I thought he was a programmer or something. 1:54 You can also sprinkle with the magic powder those skulls surrounded by hearts and they turn into a fairy!; that has always saved my life in every dungeon they are in. Pulling the leg of the Turtle Rock also gives you money.
While equipping the red round shield, if you freeze the enemy who steals items with tongue, when he tries to steal the shield, It will turn blue and drop blue when you kill the enemy. You equip it blue as well but it turns red again when you go to and from the weapons screen.
I've been playing this game since the mid 90s, and I'll tell you, I only knew about the fish giving you 20 rupees, free magic when freezing and hammering powerful enemies, and mario's face. Very well done, my friend! I love little easter eggs like this. It makes the world feel truly alive. I wish they would make another 2D Zelda Game with a bunch of hidden little features and secrets in it!
I stumbled into the Chris Holihan room once by accident within a year of its original release. Never figured out how I did it though, and never did it again.
I tried the fish technique way back in 2002 because. In Harvest Moon SNES. You actually get a power berry when you throw the fish back in. Similarly of you take fish to wandering peddler on mongay he pays you the highest amount for fish.
Back when I was young I used to play that game a lot and found out some secrets but I think there are far too many to see them all by oneself. I knew about the blacksmith one, the first fishy one and if you pull some things you can get rupees quite easily. But using the powder on everything never came to my mind. Used to upset the chickens quite often though 😂
I always got into Chris Houlihan's Room by dashing at the strange tree by the woodsmens shack, then dashing down the step up into the tree getting knocked backward into the hole in the tree... didn't know there was a second place to enter... and didn't know about the fish and the bottle vendor , awesome :D
I always Pegasus Booted everywhere because it was quicker. I traveled to the Pyramid after Ganon smashed through the top. I was throwing bombs into the opening for poops and giggles. I either got caught in an exploding bomb, then jumped in, or I explosioned myself into the opening. Wa-La I stumbled into the Chris Holihan room by accident.
I found that secret room only once. What's interesting about the freezing and then smashing enemies tactic is that I did that all the time and didn't know until recent years that it was not a well-known strategy. Go figure. About Houlihan's room in the GBA version: You can access it, it is there, but the exit is bugged. Of course, one can easily make it so that one can access and exit the room using a cheat device.
Also Dash into trees, Catch up to the guy who runs away from you, toss rocks into water (whether in Light or Dark world) fish occasionally jump out. Use magic powder on those electric green enemies or use it on those enemies at the base of Death mt that become stone if struck with sword.
You can also revisit the basement in Hyrule Castle along the way to Sanctuary and blow up the 2 doors for chests of stuff too. The ones from the very beginning of the game you walked past because you dont have any bombs
Yet another secret I had never known existed with the blacksmith. Also, I think you can return the Good Bee to the bottle salesman for some stuff. I also think that if you sprinkle magic powder on those electrical things by the magic shop, that thing will say something nonsensical.
Hint: once you get the power glove you can pick up the big light green boulders, to the east of the desert, you’ll find two boulders you can remove, one has a hidden cave that has 10 jars with 5 rupees in each, a guaranteed 50 rupees everytime you enter the cave. Easy money. You can stow 999 rupees in just a couple minutes.
@ 7:00 When I first played this as a kid, I'm tired helping the blacksmiths out by doing exactly that with the hammer. I was mostly thinking that's what had to be done in order to upgrade the sword, lol. 🔨🗡️😂 Now you're telling me it was an easter egg; that's cool. 🥚🐣

Same here. I thought inknew everything about this game. How did I get to the chris houlihan room before I found that one
Probably a stupid question, but is that lady sweeping her garden? And yes, I'd probably have the same reaction. That magic powder can do wonders.
Also you can get 20 rupees (4x blue rupee) if you pull for a few seconds the right paw of the turtle (Turtle rock dungeon, 7th crystal, dark world)
