While this whole run is amazing, I think the most impressive part of it all is the absolute perfect dash timing when moving everywhere - every dash is machine-perfect! Fantastic run and brings back so many memories; this is one of my favourite games of all time. Excellent work!!
It's amazing that a game can bring back the feelings you had when you first played the game. Every dungeon gave me the same feeling as the first time I played it.
I had never played it before, but I loved my gameboy advance as a kid and got one this year. Played it for the first time recently and man. This game is timeless. Don't recall the last time I had that much fun on a game.

Doing a 100% speed run is fantastic. I dislike speed runs that are about exploiting glitches and skipping as much as possible, whereas this one works like a really efficient guide.
There's a glitch that lets you finish the game in about 3 minutes. You trick the game into thinking you're in one place when you're in another, and it lets you move between the dungeons. They're all connected on the same map. And you can walk right into the final room (the one that opens when you beat Ganon). There are so many glitches in this game that they are categorized. Minor glitches like free flippers and block manipulation (mirror when pushing to destroy them, hookshot through while pushing, etc) are considered to be fair game for speed runs not classified as glitchless. They're also the kind of thing any player can learn, and once you know them, you just do them without thinking. The best use of free flippers - achieved by jumping into the water, and then moving to the next screen before the game can ask itself if you have flippers or not - is to get the hobo bottle and/or the red boomerang/red shield early. The hammer dash, well, mainly for traversing the bridge with the nine pegs, and for that one part east of the Dark World town.
This is among my favorite Zelda games. Always brings back memories to watch stuff like this. I beat this game several times, though never attempted anything close to a speed run. Nice video!
Soooo FAST I love it! RPG's were my bible for personal development. Growing your life, building your knowledge and skills. It made me who I am today. It made me financially free so I can explore the world for real. I was bad in school but I did understand the idea behind RPG's. Great lessons I have learned in these games!! I just love this game! Link to the Past is the first appearance of what would later become a major brand of Zelda games: the existence of two parallel worlds between which the player can travel. The first, called World of Light (Light World), is the real Hyrule, where Link grew up with his uncle. The second is what was once the Sacred Realm, but it has become the Dark World, a corrupted version of Hyrule; water is an unpleasant dark color, grasses are dead, skulls have replaced rocks and vases, and trees have faces. People change shapes in the World of Darkness based on their nature; without an item to avoid (in this case, the Moon Pearl), Link turns into a pink rabbit. Each location in the World of Light corresponds to a similar location in the World of Darkness, usually with a similar physical structure, but an opposite nature (for example, a desert in the World of Light corresponds to a swamp in the World of Darkness, a quiet village in the Mundo da Luz corresponds to a city of thieves in ruins in the World of Darkness). Link can travel from the World of Darkness to the World of Light in almost any location in the outside world using the Magic Mirror, and can travel back to the World of Darkness again from the same location using a temporary portal left behind on the map, at the point where it reappears in the World of Light. Otherwise, Link must use locations with hidden portals across the World of Light to travel to the World of Darkness. Travel between worlds allows for the puzzle in A Link to the Past that explores the structural differences between the world of light and dark, how Link can travel to inaccessible areas in a world deforming from parallel, yet accessible locations in another world In my blog I give more details about this incredible Zelda: http: //wisegamer.net/zelda-super-nintendo-link-to-the-past/
