All the psychiatrist and therapists Ive taken them too in the last 30 months since we fled our abuser, have been easily manipulated to believe I'm the problem. Was just awarded my divorce in Jan.after 22 yrs of being my ex husbands hostage🎉
Thank you I can see where I went wrong now. I did fix things for her for a long time. I learned about narcissism a few years ago when I noticed my daughters behaviour wasn't the usual rebellious teenager stuff. I ended up losing a tip of my finger in the door as a result Now its a daily reminder never forget what shes capable of and to stop doing things for her and making excuses for her actions
I want to try to understand this topic to have a better understanding of the years in my childhood when my unofficial primary caretaker was a narcissistic child. That is a bizarre circumstance that I have to guess has not been well studied.
No one is born with narcissism. These parents complaining about their narc children, need to take a good look in the mirror. Even with all the societal influence, parents can raise empathetic children - it takes a lot of time and patience to raise a healthy child. I don't only see NPD parents raising narc children, I see selfish, self-absorbed and lazy parents raising them.
you cannot be so sure of yourself! Human beings are complexe and there are many factors you aren't taking into account here..... children can be narcissistic without having narcissistic parents. And I do not have children, so I am not defending my case here
