@@cornfedwyteboy2 exactly... Like budlight did. But we need transportation. Mayne just staying away from getting new trucks for 2 years after they come up with redesign should shake the prices back down a little. I think this truck in lariat should be in 60k range. That's fair enough for Every1.
My f250 2018 lariat tubo diesel 6.7 fx4 all factory led lights, super crew had a window price of $81,000 .since then I add a 6inch lift and toyo mt 37's 17x8.5 wheels. It just turned 38,000 miles, it was my retirement gift to myself...love pulling my boat to the coast 😎 thanks FORD
I love that Ford retains REAL BUTTONS for HVAC and radio controls. It's nice to see you test drive because you're actually 1 inch taller than me. Ram cabs are so tiny. Ford has always made their vehicles fit tall Americans. I actually love this new front end. It caught my eye right off the bat.
Awesome way to show case this truck. I"m curently test driving a 23/f 250. I found your video very imformative . I didn't know about the 6.7 HIGH OUT PUT ! Thanks !
good points about the price. Trucks used to have a much bigger work-only market. With the recent trend of people liking 4x4s again, this adds a whole new and frankly large money making segment into the HD pickup space. Like you said, the luxury features in these new trucks even at the mid-trim level are wayyyyy nicer than even the top trims from 10 years ago. They really are luxury vehicles wrapped into the platform of an extremely capable truck, and you definitely get what you pay for compared to back in the day. It is just such a shame that the segment has gotten so big in recent years that more consumer grade versions are being produced than fleet trucks, so small businesses that can't afford to put in a large factory order get screwed because there is so much markup since no one carries bare bones work trucks like that anymore.
Just found this video about a month after buying a well optioned '24 Platinum and I have to say you did a very good job talking about the truck. I got a diesel with the intent if doing aftermarket power mods. After driving this truck for a month, I have to say I'm very pleased with the factory HO power. My last diesel was an 01 7.3 that had some mods with a Hydra chip, and this thing absolutely makes that pale in comparison. AND it does that with a full factory warranty while getting 20mpg(hand calculated btw). I only wish the exhaust had a better diesel sound to it, but im ok with that for now.
I've been truck shopping for awhile now. One that has caught my attention is a Ford F450 regular cab pickup. Actually found one about a year ago new and had a chance to drive it. Rode decent for a dually. Plenty of room for me and that's all I needed. Going to price one within the next 2 weeks. XLT trim pkg with all of the bells and whistles. And, the 6.7 liter H.O. Great video and great looking truck.
I walk into the dealership and I'm perfectly okay with the XL package. Then my wife pipes up and wants all the options... So we walked back out of the dealership. 😂
@@d0uble_O XLT MAX, keep it simple no HO diesel $60S in price .I just ordered a REGULAR CAB 450 pickup regular out put diesel xlt nice HD tow truck work truck $60S !!!
My truck is my life. I am a contractor. I pull trailers every day. I take my family on vacations pulling my travel trailer. It is my office in the field. 100K+ is a lot of money to pay for a truck but if you use it like I do, I’ll pay that. Beautiful piece of machinery. Kudos to Ford!
Spot on. I think the price is rising because of the tax write-offs for the HD trucks for commercial / contractor use. The normal person just gets dragged as they cannot take the tax write-offs. My landscaping friend says he is just screwed and has to pay no matter what year after year as he buys 3 a year to rotate through the fleet. he just switched to GM from Ford so we will see how that goes.
Yup and that’s who these trucks target. People like you that are in them 4-12 hours a day. People that say they’re too expensive, we’ll it’s not targeting them lol
100k is still way too much no matter how you use it. My 20 Denali 2500 Duramax was $70K. I can see paying that but anything else is the dealers ripping off people like us.
@@fit4ya1975its not the dealer and infact its not even ford itself..its the cost of manufacture these days..making trucks or anything for that matter aint cheap. Havent you gone grocery shopping 😂
I ordered my 2023 F250 diesel (standard) FX4 Lariat super crew in October 2022 and took delivery in April 2023. It cost just under $80K. Do I wish it cost less? Heck yes. At 62, it may be my last pickup I buy. I took a trip from Dallas to OKC and back and got 22.1 mpg over 500 miles which is better than my 2015 F150 Ecoboost 4x4 super crew. I ordered the 2015 and the 2023 from the Griffin fleet team at North Central Ford in Richardson TX. These guys provide the best buying experience of any dealer. They are very knowledgeable and put zero pressure on you. You order exactly what you want. You don’t have to deal with a stupid salesperson. In fact, you go to their building behind the dealership for everything including delivery. You do pay MSRP. FORD raised the price of my recent order $800 and they honored the price of the truck when I ordered it. There were no extra add-ones or F&I guys to deal with. I highly recommend! Oh, and the truck is great too. In October 2022 there were no examples of the 2023 Superduty to actually see. I did not order the Lariat ultimate package ( did not want the sunroof). The regular Lariat interior is different that the ultimate package, so be aware. I have the Baja color interior which is tan with black trim on the edges of the seats. The only thing that bothers me is the fabric like material on the dash and top of doors. Similar to what you would find on an XLT model that has fabric seats. My 2015 Lariat has leather in those interior places. The 12” screen is incredible as well as the B&O sound system (when in surround mode). The digital gauges are NOT good. I hope someone figures out how to customize the gauge screen because it sucks. Fuel, temp, etc are not that easy to read. Sorry for the long post, I tried to include some info not included in the video.😁
I spec ordered one for my work truck with a major duty being snow plowing in Wisconsin. I ordered a F350 XLT super cab with the snow plow prep package. With the F350 I no longer need air bags in the front like I did with my old F250 and Boss 9'2" V plow. I had to air bag the rear of my old truck as well to keep the headlights out of the trees when towing skid steers with it. My only complaint with the truck is I was told by the dealership to order the smaller Sync 4 system to reduce the hold up on getting it built since I had waited over a year to even place the order. I never dreamt that the Sync 4 was not going to come with XM capabilities. Apple CarPlay doesn't work for shit in places that cell coverage isn't very good. I assumed if it had Sync I would be able to transfer over my XM subscription since XM has been a part of Sync from its beginning if I'm not mistaken. Other than that I can only praise this truck. I don't have the heads-up display in mine, but I did hear that you will want to watch your following distance because the replacement windshields for trucks with that option are very expensive.
Wish you could have compared vs stock version. Hard to tell how much of the greatness was due to the Carli upgrades. Also helpful future video to compare versus the 7.3 gas engine. Overall, great job on the review.
89K for the F-250 but if you look at a lariat loaded the same in a F-150 its low 70K. The 6.7 HO option is a 12k option as well so a 6.8 gas would put you right around a F-150 price tag which blows my mind.
My socal dealer has F250SD XLT for 66k with decent options. There are other trims in the F250 that will easily top into the 85-90k range, but it's possible get in for less.
I have to agree with you on being the most comfortable for tall guys. I've had a 22 GM and 22 Ford. The GM does have the telescoping wheel but doesn't come out far enough for a tall guy and find myself leaning forward for the wheel.
Im 6-2, i drove my cousins 23 F250 Lariat this past weekend. Gorgeous truck, but the fact that im looking out of the top 3" of the drivers window as I sit in the seat is a big no for me. Seat was all the way down too. My 20 Denali 2500 has a way better seating position for taller people. Seat goes down way further.
This is probably the best looking 23’ F350 I’ve seen so far. I absolutely hated the new headlights the first time I saw it, but I’m starting to like it more. You really do need to see it in person. Still trying to figure out if I should go 6.7 diesel or 7.3 gas though. I really don’t want to go through the costs of diesel maintenance and the 7.3 has its own issues with the cam and rollers.
@@jsm11weld You must not know about the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor Failure. 6.7 Diesel EGR Cooler Clogging Issues. Ford Diesel Engine Radiator Coolant Leaks. Injection Pump Failure the infamous CP4 failure which cost $12k to fix. Then having to find a good diesel mechanic you can trust to fix it. There’s nothing negligible about that.
A little more oil, and you never have to worry about towing capability again. The turbo at high altitude really keep you in the power as opposed to a gasser.
I did a build sheet on the Ford website as Ultimate Lariat with the Tremor package with the reg diesel and it totaled up to 76k which is cheaper than the 22 diesel. My 22 Tremor 7.3 gas Ult Lariat came in at 71k.
You can't get a Tremor with the regular 6.7L diesel. '23 Tremors require the High Output 6.7L. I was going to order the new Tremor until I realized I would be forced to also get the High Output. The High Output is only 25 more horsepower but $3k more. I didn't feel that was worth it. I just received my 23 Lariat Crew Cab and love it.
@@BossDaddie81 oh I see what you're saying. And that's a good point. A tuner could get the same or better out of the regular 6.7L vs the high output model.
Good overall review, though I am basically a Ford guy so might be some bias there. One thing I will take a difference of opinion on is the reliability of the 10R140 transmission. There are a lot of them failing in the 60k-70k mile range. If you haven't heard about it, look up the "CDF bushing". Ford's lighter duty 10R80 has the same problem. Overall the powertrain has tons of potential, but the transmission needs a revision.
Ask yourself this, how many years has Ford putting that. transmission behind that. engine knowing that it was unreliable. ? And you say revision. ? Or would it be that Ford just doesn't care? And they're not willing to take the hit. on updating the transmissions they own. But burning their clientele for this money. ? Would you still be a blue Oval fan realizing this? Wow, an honest Ford Guy? What's going on here? There's dozens of guys on this page that own those vehicles and claim they've never been in a shop and repaired them. I don't know what it is. If you drive a blue oval, you're prone to lying. Thanks for being honest You should post that at the top of the page and save. a lot of people A lot of money. because those transmission All fail after the warranty is gone.
the 10R140 on a heavy duty truck is fairly new..infact 3 to 4 years. Before that was the 6R140 which is what my 6.7 has. The 6R has a 10 year tried and true and some say its a tank. Hopefully this new 10R continues that..my guess it will..ford doesnt fk around like that! Specially now that they making their own heavy duty engines.
Just built a 2023 lariat 350 dually should be here in August h/o 6.7 diamond white. Just under 95k... my 2019 platinum was 78k at the end of 2018... you're 100% correct we just keep asking for more stuff for us to break 😂
I've got 05 diesel, 18 dually diesel, and a 14 gasser. Only owe 15k of total debt in life. I really don't want to take out another morgage on a truck. They are awesome, though.
Proud to work for the Kentucky truck plant and be a part of building these icon beastly mean looking trucks. And I'm happy to say Ford still has the truck that looks most like a truck. Because I don't know what the hell Chevy did with their headlights. But I feel like it's a truck trying to be a sports car with those weird, ugly out of this world looking headlights.
I own a 2022 F350 Platinum in Carbonized Gray. I've had it now 13 months, and I special ordered it with every single option available (minus the $3K winch) and the price tag came out to $96K. Yes it's a high price, but when I looked at other options (different makers), there really wasn't another truck able compete with everything Ford offered. So far after 13 months and 26,000 miles of mostly highway driving, I would do it all again. The only benefit there would have been on waiting for the '23 verses buying the '22 is the heads-up display. All of the other cosmetic changes they added I don't really care for, especially the bed and bumper steps. I have since added a BDS 4" lift and 37" tires which make the truck look more proportionate in size and stance all the way around. This added another $15K . . . and I would have gladly paid Ford $111K ($96K + $15K) if it were offered as a factory setup. But not everyone is willing to pay over six figures for a truck - and I get it. But if you want the best it's gonna cost you. Gone are the days of getting a nice truck for around $60K. Hell, even a loaded F150 is $85K!
Best trucks out there. Expensive yes. Though you get ALOT for your $. The technology is crazy. All new modern efficient V8s. Most powerful diesel engine out there if ya go that route. *My '23 F250 Tremor has 7.3L Godzilla V8. 20mpgs highway* ! 💯
In terms of serviceability, even the new 6.7s aren't terrible and almost everything can be serviced cab on. The recent exception being that the engine must be removed to remove the oil pan due to the new oil pump location.
Just bought the F350 lariat With the ultimate package Out the door with tax 95. I plan on keeping this truck for a very long time and my last F150 I had for seven years. I hope it’s a good investment
The horsepower/torque figures on these modern diesels are astounding. Be aware that regardless of power ratings the truck will give you the power the computers decide you can have depending on a number of inputs. If this truck gave peak torque in low range/gear it would break something for sure.
I’ve got a ‘22 lariat ultimate f-250 tremor and I love this thing…personally I do not like what they did to the front end of the ‘23 but it’s nice to see they are making some other quality of life changes. Can’t wait to see what they will do to these trucks in the next few years.
Can't even build a Tremor package with Lariat. To get Tremor, I have to build a King Ranch or Platinum. No twin moonroof as options in 2023 Lariat either.
@@aimnc8959 oof, sorry to hear that brother. Best of luck with that, I will say if your pulling trailers or out on rough terrain frequently, that this truck is worth it’s weight. So was the price you said you paid for this truck with the 37s and it looks like a falcon suspension? Those suspensions are close to 10k depending on the level you get. Great looking truck!
Ford has definitely stepped up their game, especially on the interior. I was sad to see such a nice rig without electronic steps, but maybe the owner opted out.
Yeah, because it's like a $3000 upgrade. It's ridiculous. Ford's packaging prices generally means, if you want certain things, you won't pay less than six to $10,000 for the next package. So you. have to put them on afterwards to avoid getting gouged.
I drove the RAM 2500 and really liked it. The interior was excellent. The drive was smooth and the Cummins was fantastic. The showstopper was the lack of a telescoping wheel. I'm also 6'4" and the telescoping wheel is the secret weapon to making the vehicle fit. Without it, the Ram seating position was not much better than a U-Haul. Hopefully they fix that in the MY25. Seems like a strange omission in a vehicle that can be equipped for over $100k
I purchased a 22 F350 XLT crew cab long bed FX4 6.7 powerstroke with an awesome factory 48 gallon fuel tank! Love the diesel Love the 10 speed Love the 360 cameras And completely agree with ease of maintenance. I came from a 18 ram 2500 Cummins (great truck but overall the ford is a better truck)
I love it. I currently drive a 2017 F350 Lariat Ultimate and would love to have another. Right now you have to order them and wait up to 6 months--at least that's what I've been told from my dealer in Denver. I'll actually probably wait tile the end of the year and maybe order a 2024. The color and trim package in this video is ideal!
The prices are somewhat justified but even stripped down models cost as much as optioned out models a few years ago. There's definitely some over inflation in there, it's just a bit much even with the advancements made.
It looks like a combo of dramatic inflation and product improvement driven by consumer desires 5 years ago the starting price for a super duty was a little over 33k, now it's nearly 44k a 33% raise unfortunately though over half of this jump is inflation unbelievably has increased over 18% since 2018 (crazy) that leaves about 15% increase is everything else from upgraded tech increased cost to make, profit margin etc. if you look at the top trim levels their prices have actually risen at a lesser rate ( almost 22% price increase for the platinum trim) Looking at it this way it's pretty clear that the crazy economic woes we have had in recent years have really hurt the prices more then anything else
@@malcolmn.5222 no, but you can look at the prices for the 2022, which jumped $8,500 from the 2nd half of 2021 to Q3-Q4 of 2022. One thing that every Ford owner should know. Yes, you're gonna rebuild that transmission before 150,000 miles. If you're towing. and 200,000 miles if you're not. And then a 300 thousand. You're going to rebuild the engine because of the engine oil starvation issues that spun your main bearings and wiped camlobe. That is a fact. You can take any 200,000 mile five year old powerstroke. Pull it in a shop. Tear the engine down and find damaged. main bearings. and the beginnings of Camlobes being wiped. because of the stupidity of the engineers. The engine. starves on oil startups for 8 seconds as the more than two thirds of a gallon of oil. it takes to fill the engine oil lines finally reaches the upper engine. Probably not a problem. Restart. the engine every few hours But if it's been setting a week, it's bone dry. So the driveway Queen Ford weakened warrior. engines had the worst damage. Any low mileage powerstroke? will be represented by that exact scenario. Don't buy them! You will be rebuilding that engine through. years after you buy it. If it outlasts the transmission total cost of rebuilding both. $25K.
The following review is the viewpoint of an Alaskan who has watched for 30+ years which trucks do best in the harshest environmental state in the union! I owned a brand new GMC 3500 HD. AT-4 with the Duramax Allison. I grew up on Fords, but because of spinal injuries in the military, I switched to GM’s for their soft or ride. I sold my new 2023 GMC with less than 500 miles on it. I replaced it with a 2024 Ford F350 Tremor. The GMC did have a slightly smoother ride due to its IFS. I think the perfect truck for Alaska in 2024 is a Ford frame and body with a 2024 GM interior, and a Cummins mated to a 10 speed Allison. Since such a truck does not exist, I think the Ford Tremor is the best especially for rugged harsh unforgiving places like my home state of Alaska. When I watched the TFL talking trucks guys compared heavy duty diesels in the snow they don’t even know what snow is! One reason I got rid of my new 2023 GMC is the lack of ground clearance on their supposed off-road version and the fact they have the front end, squatting lower with an extremely heavy diesel engine in it. I have learned over the years in Alaska. This is a recipe for getting stuck and having to call your friend with a Ford to pull you out! I’m not a diehard brand person. However, I lived in coastal Alaska for several years recently and one thing I noticed time after time after time after time was guys would purchase a brand new Dodge/ram we’re talking after 2015 and in less than nine months, their truck would be completely rusted through!!!!!! We’re talking a hole you could see through in their wheel wells and their bumper!! This was a one or two trucks that I saw this happen to. This was in the double digits before I stopped counting!! This completely turned me off on Dodge/Ram!!!! A Cummins might be the best motor but what good is it if the entire bloody truck is falling apart all around you before it’s even one year old?!! Alaska is not like the lower 48! It takes pick up trucks that are not properly built. It chews them up and spits them out like a grizzly bear, eating a squirrel that picks its teeth clean with its claws afterwards. Alyeska is the company who owns and maintains the Alaska pipeline. They purchase roughly 60% Fords, 30% Dodge/Ram and 10% GM. A friend told me the 10% GM is for the really old guys with arthritis because they heat up faster but their alignment goes out really really fast- I know mine did on all the GM’s. I’ve owned in Alaska! Alaska is the reason I went back to FORD because I got so sick and tired of having to replace my upper and lower ball joints on my Chevrolet and GMC. With 37’s on this truck and either the 7.3 gas or the 6.7 turbo diesel I think this is the best truck for the most rugged truck destroying state in the union Alaska !
I'm not too sure about that, the early 6.7s are not aging well, at least we got a solid 7 years of a motor before they have the cab off every now and then, However compared to the 6.0 & 6.4 they are substantially better but in a vacuum not so much.
@Joe Hansen I love my 6.0. Factory configuration is awful but it was easy enough to modify it into a reliable power house. 300k miles and have never had a hiccup
I think Ford heavy duty trucks have always been dominant 😅 Especially when you realize Ram Cummins are inline 6’s sure it’s the best design for diesel engines but it’s still no V8.
Confession; I have owned Ford super duty trucks since 2001. Las one being a 6.7. I ordered a 2023 F250 King Ranch last November 2022. In the meantime I bought a GMC 2500 AT4. Duramax diesel and Allison transmission speak for themselves, fantastic track record. So as of right now I don’t think I have ever owned a truck I like more than this GMC. My 2 adult sons have disowned me!! The fit and finish, wow, the Duramax engine, wow, this truck is a tank, oh and one other big thing for me, it has a steel body!!! As of right now when my King Ranch comes in, I’m gonna pass and keep my GMC… go figure, what a truck…

In the early 90s you could get a decently equipt f250 for $18,000. Adjusted for inflation thats under $39,000 today but you cant get a similarly equipped truck for anywhere near that
That’s a 2.16 multiplier on cost in 3 decades. I’m sure wages have significantly gone up since then. More realistic number of that is closer to $4.75 vs $15.50 here in Cali. Can obviously vary from area to area. That’s a 3.26 multiplier. That’s $58,000 today. F250 XL Diesel 4x4 today starting at $59,750. Got as a standard Bluetooth, electronic lock, backup camera and security. Those were not standard options in the early 90’s. Either way, we make use of our money and invest into products other people make for us to consume.
Right, because even in the lowest base model of a modern truck there are way more amenities, and technology that wasn't even invented in the '90s. Not to mention the base 6.8 gas engine puts out more power than anything you could get in the '90s.
@AK_Ray exactly new trucks have a ton of "features" that many buyers don't want but they have to pay for them anyway. The new 6.8 only makes slightly more torque than a 90s 460 but the 460 made the torque at a much lower rpm
@@grantn8879 Don't get me wrong though, I love my OBS pickups, I truly do. But they don't hold a candle to any modern pickups. I mean a 96 F350 is outperformed in every metric by a modern F-150, let alone super duty. There's just no comparison. And to be honest if all you need is the capabilities of a mid '90s OBS, buyer modern Ranger because that's where we're at.
Having to take the cab off to service the engine is a pretty serious design flaw, whether you're working on it yourself or paying a dealer or mechanic to do it. There's just no reason for that nonsense. No arguing with the power plant, its numbers, or its performance, but the whole cab-off engine maintenance requirement would preclude me even considering the Ford. Maybe they figure people who have $100K to buy a truck like this won't mind paying $10K to have the cab pulled for engine maintenance down the road, but there are two problems with that: 1) The truck is grossly overpriced to begin with. 2) Having to pay that much just to service the engine will lead to people just ditching the truck in favor of something else when it comes time for that level of maintenance. Really bad design. Whether you maintain it yourself or pay someone else to do it, living with a Cummins will be significantly easier and cheaper in the long run, and you're more likely to keep the truck. The quality of the Ram interior beats the Ford hands down (Laramie vs Lariat), with the Ford basically putting a couple leather accents on a cheap plastic XLT interior and calling it a Lariat. Ram does some of that, too, but a lot less, with a lot more soft-touch materials and less hard plastics. I've also heard a lot of people complaining about the Ford's center console constantly squeaking as they go down the road. Having said that, being a taller guy myself at 6'2, I was really surprised to find my head contacting the headliner when sitting in the Ram (with the seat at its lowest possible setting). Seeing you sit with plenty of headroom in the Ford, at your height, was really nice to see. Can't understand why Ram decided to make their interior so cramped. If I remember right, the Ram also has a drive axle hump in the rear seat area, whereas the Ford has a flat floor back there, making it a more comfortable and usable space. Did you have a professional do the leveling, or did you do it yourself? It would be interesting to see that, if it's not already on your channel. The 37s look fantastic on the truck, but you sure can hear them sing at highway speed during your driving portion of the video. LOL. You did a quick mention of the offset for the wheels, but I'm less knowledgeable about that. I assume 37s wouldn't work on the stock wheels and you have to go with a different wheel/offset setup to make them work? Didn't look like they stuck out much beyond the fenders, which is nice. Did you make any adjustments to get the speedometer to match the 37s, or are you just guestimating your speed? I think my wife would probably need a step ladder to get into this thing, but it sure does look good. Congrats! And thanks for sharing it with us.
Found your videos on my Recommended page. I'm not really interested in diesel trucks, but I enjoy truck reviews in general. Your videos are really well-produced, filmed, and edited. The B roll is much better than I've seen on most smaller channels and your short intro was informative and interesting. I think the depth of detail and length of the video was great, as well. Your thumbnail was suuuuuper clean, which made me want to see if the video was just as good. The only thing that really stood out to me was your audio when driving the truck. You might look into a lapel-type mic so that there's not such a big difference in your behind-the-wheel audio. Not that you're asking for this feedback, I just felt compelled because so much of this is really top-notch!
Thank you! I actually went to use my lav mic, but long story short, didn't have my little rig to hook up up properly with the windshield suction mount. Figured I'd just send it and film instead haha
I've been driving the big three for over 40 years the from 1994 I've driven them professionally I currently have a 2019 Powerstroke assigned to me. I wouldn't have any of the new trucks the Dodges we have can't go out without making a trip to the shop for another repair. My Ford has had tranny problems from the time I picked it up in Texas and drove it back to Idaho. We haven't had a Chevy in a long time and I think that is because of the price. I have a 2003 Chevy Duramax dually the truck is money, reliable and is a monster it hauls my 1140 Artic fox nicely best thing is no DEF!
Just curious if you think this should be more of a work truck, the extra power only seems like its needed if you have like a big camper or horse trailer. In the future I'm gonna just get the normal 6.7 but soon I'll get a obs 7.3 powerstroke.
@ 10:00 or so, you speak about the backseat storage and show the seats in the vid. Oddly, you did not open them and show the space/layout in the vid. Care to add that?
I'm trying to get my commercial fishing license and I really need a truck to tow my boat, but I can't possibly swing it with the prices today. It would easier for me to sell my house and buy a place on the river and use a boat lift then to spend the $100K on a truck + ins, taxes, etc.
@@darrencedeno8098 💯 agree with you guys. My 5.9 may not be as fancy as this thing but I’ll take the ease of maintenance over all that bells and whistle junk.
I will never pay 90 grand for a truck. I’m a big GM fan, minus the newest bs, but Ford super duties have always looked good. This one looks even better, imo. Impressive numbers on that power stroke, too.
Great review! Correct me if I’m wrong, but Ford dropped Adaptive Steering in all models, not even an option, beginning in ‘23? I agree, was a great option I have on my ‘20 F250 Platinum, which is the main reason I’ve not ordered a ‘23. Not a fan of the bed steps, too Chevy/GM looking and I don’t really have a use for them. Looks like plastic that’s going to fade over time.
You can get adaptive Cruise Control if you get the $5k ultimate package. But I'm not positive if that would include steering. In this video it looked like it was steering for him. My new '23 f250 doesn't steer like that for me. But I also didn't get the ultimate package...
NOT to a mechanic. A mechanic knows what each part is and what each part does. A dumb-ass looks at the engine bay and says wtf? You think a big plastic cover is better ? Nope it's just getting in the way. It looks neat to a layman. That's all.
Like he said, it's a cab off design. I work on these often and being able to stand next to the engine for repair work with the cab completely suspended off of it is great. There's is a process requiring removal of components but, a knowledgable mechanic can easily do it.
@@richardj163 ~ Wellllll...I guess it depends on who's doing it I guess and how fast they are on it. We usually can unhook everything (battery, hoses, electric conections, steering linkage, etc.) and unbolt it usually by noon if we get going...suspend it after lunch and get to work on the repairs.
It’s ridiculous how much better these trucks look with a level and bigger wheels. It’s like there all designed these days with that in mind. They look dumb with the stock wheels.
@@JustDiesels agreed. Most problems are few and far between, people just like to hate on the other brands they don’t drive. Probably about to pickup a 23’ Ford, possibly 24’ so they iron out the kinks and gremlins. However I do know 3 people that have had the 10 speed transmission go so hopefully that was just a fluke.

What was the total cost of this truck, tax in and also the wheel and tire package upgrade? Anything else that should be added into the cost? I would not want to pull the cab for service beyond a oil & filter change. Fuel filter too. ✌🏻🤘👍🏻🤔 🇨🇦.
It’s all great till you have to pay the repair bill. I’ve been a tech for 30 years and I would never buy a new diesel pick up especially a Ford. How much are your oil changes with the right oil? 😏

Ford had billions in losses regarding their EV program. The prices on these trucks are subsidizing EV development unfortunately
Best thing about that truck is that you can fit 37s without trimming. All companies should do that. Looks so good leveled with those tires.

What are you getting on mpg?
good points about the price.
Ford doesn’t even make cars anymore. They have the Mustang and the GT. But they only make SUVs and trucks

Just last month I bought myself one!
Same as this video the add... Tremor!
An amazing truck!!!
And the video is spot on!
How you going to spend $80,000 for a truck and worry about maintenance costs, that are negligible.
@@jsm11weld You must not know about the
Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor Failure.
Do your home work to many 7.3 godzilla gas jobs have the camshaft going bad around 35K to 40K. This is from a ford guy.
A little more oil, and you never have to worry about towing capability again. The turbo at high altitude really keep you in the power as opposed to a gasser.
@@southwestoffroad I do know about the 100K warranty on the diesel.
Good looking truck with many creature comforts. CP4 fuel pump is a deal killer. Price point is absolutely ridiculous.
is it not upgradable?
CP4 have been waaaayy better in the Fords than Duramax and Cummins because Ford adequately
pre filters and lift pumps them.
$500 just get the CP4 bypass kit do that if the CP4 pump detonated doesn't wipe out your entire system
They have a remedy for it .
Sure the CP4 issue is fixable. You shouldn’t have to put more money into an overpriced truck.

Prices are outrageous for all brands but Ford is still on top of the diesel game. They have been for 5+ years.
The only thing that ever put them behind from 2004 to 2011 was the new emissions tech. Those years are still incredible as long as they are deleted
They sure didn’t have as nice of an interior as the ram until this model. Still not as nice imo

That truck looks so good on those tires
Good overall review, though I am basically a Ford guy so might be some bias there. One thing I will take a difference of opinion on is the reliability of the 10R140 transmission. There are a lot of them failing in the 60k-70k mile range. If you haven't heard about it, look up the "CDF bushing". Ford's lighter duty 10R80 has the same problem. Overall the powertrain has tons of potential, but the transmission needs a revision.
Exactly, thats one of the reasons Consumer Reports rates ford so low on reliability now.
To each their own I guess, there is just no way I would ever do that.
I personally despise fancy interiors and their price tags.

The horsepower/torque figures on these modern diesels are astounding. Be aware that regardless of power ratings the truck will give you the power the computers decide you can have depending on a number of inputs. If this truck gave peak torque in low range/gear it would break something for sure.

Yeah, because it's like a $3000 upgrade. It's ridiculous. Ford's packaging prices generally means, if you want certain things, you won't pay less than six to $10,000 for the next package. So you. have to put them on afterwards to avoid getting gouged.
Hey Andrew, I know this its off topic, but I'm getting a 99 Ram 24v tomorrow! I'm super excited. What did you do for your headlights on your 99?

Thank, Buddy!
These are 5” backspace 18x9 Innov8 G500 wheels. Super nice setup!
Great review!! Truck looks amazing but price tag is crazy. Im sure its worth it but not my time for a 6 digit truck lol
Love the diesel
Love the 10 speed
Love the 360 cameras
And completely agree with ease of maintenance.
Ford isn't giving you the same truck from a few years ago, so you can't compare the two prices.
It looks like a combo of dramatic inflation and product improvement driven by consumer desires
5 years ago the starting price for a super duty was a little over 33k, now it's nearly 44k a 33% raise unfortunately though over half of this jump is inflation unbelievably has increased over 18% since 2018 (crazy) that leaves about 15% increase is everything else from upgraded tech increased cost to make, profit margin etc. if you look at the top trim levels their prices have actually risen at a lesser rate ( almost 22% price increase for the platinum trim)
Looking at it this way it's pretty clear that the crazy economic woes we have had in recent years have really hurt the prices more then anything else
@@malcolmn.5222 no, but you can look at the prices for the 2022, which jumped $8,500 from the 2nd half of 2021 to Q3-Q4 of 2022. It might have been a $10k jump before they stopped 2022 production, I forget- it was SIGNIFICANT. My 2022 7.3 King Ranch Tremor fully loaded was $76.5k MSRP. Before Ford removed the builder from their website for 2022 models that same truck was $85,000
@@theprfesssor it was covid inflation. I work in heavy materials and we saw a 25 to 50% price increase across the board. People are going to make their 20% if materials cost 50k or 100k. Wonderful truck, wonderful build, and wonderfully out of reach by 99% of the population. Maybe I can get a used one in a decade, when they’re closer to the working man’s price.
Why would a “working man” need a upper trim Superduty on 37’s? Everything a working man “needs” can be done with a base spec ranger, even a F150 is overkill for most “working men.”

The front end of that pickup is a conversation piece. 😬

Great vid. Still waiting on my HO tremor and plan on going with the carli level and toyo mts myself! Great looking truck. Excited to get mine!
Thank you for the in-depth analysis and honest opinion!
All i see is debt and emissions failures

Thank you for the review, it’s amazing you keep up with the nice shots of the camera 😮I want this truck now HAGD
Ford really is doing good with the looks of these trucks. Luckily the newest motor isn’t a 6.4 debacle.
Been over a decade since the 6.4 was out 6.7 is best 1 ton diesel
@@CoyoteFTW Deleted truck 6.4 no issues have mine since 09 still no issues, was deleted at 15,000 miles.
@@lukefranklin1766 I love the 6.0. It makes such a wicked sound
I think Ford heavy duty trucks have always been dominant 😅
Especially when you realize Ram Cummins are inline 6’s sure it’s the best design for diesel engines but it’s still no V8.
spot on..the inline 6 has left the chat and is now in history class 😂.. probably cause V8s are able to make more horse power?

@@grantn88796.8 also makes twice the horsepower of the 460 ,through a 10-speed transmission, with a deeper rear gear, and can get 20 mi a gallon.
You should do more automotive journalism or a spin off channel given that you are a dedicated diesel guy
Can we get more 2nd gen videos I miss it
Having to take the cab off to service the engine is a pretty serious design flaw, whether you're working on it yourself or paying a dealer or mechanic to do it.

I don't like Ford, but with a truck like this on a carli kit 🙃 and the raptor R, it's nice . 🤫

If you have shorter folks that drive too you also want adjustable pedals but it seems like the manufacturers have dropped that option.
I just got my '23 F250 Lariat Crew Cab and it does have adjustable pedals 👍
Just curious if you think this should be more of a work truck, the extra power only seems like its needed if you have like a big camper or horse trailer. In the future I'm gonna just get the normal 6.7 but soon I'll get a obs 7.3 powerstroke.

I'm trying to get my commercial fishing license and I really need a truck to tow my boat, but I can't possibly swing it with the prices today. It would easier for me to sell my house and buy a place on the river and use a boat lift then to spend the $100K on a truck + ins, taxes, etc.

Engine bay looks like a nightmare to a mechanic.
Absolutely!!!!!
NOT to a mechanic. A mechanic knows what each part is and what each part does. A dumb-ass looks at the engine bay and says wtf? You think a big plastic cover is better ? Nope it's just getting in the way. It looks neat to a layman. That's all.
