Guys - this is how you do a truck review. There's ZERO word salad here. Just facts, delivered faster than McDonald's, straight into your head. Good Job!
I own a 2023 F250 XL w/STX package. 6.8L V8 engine and 3.73 rear axle. 3822 Ibs of payload and 14,100 lbs towing. I've towed my 32' 8,000 Ibs travel trailer with no issues. Going up the Tejon Pass it wàs happy at 3500 rpm. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of higher trim levels but the STX package is very well equipped for a $58k super duty.
@mdbrown777 I haven’t had any transmission issues. I have a little over 7k miles. Maybe there is a software update your truck needs. Sometimes it’s good to take it to the dealership so they can update it with a laptop instead of over the air. Just a thought.
December I stepped up to a 2023 F250 SD with STX identical to this model. Coming from a Ram 1/2 ton, I like this truck. 6.8L gas has more then plenty get up and go. I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles that a 100k+ trim has, im quite content with a base +1 approach. Payload is great at 3848!
It is amazing at the price increase in the last few years. This truck was about $47k in 2021 as my XLT was $54k though with the 6.2l V8. Love my F250 and hope to keep it for a long, long time.
This truck is actually a couple thousand MORE than a base XLT 7.3L in the same config. The amount of stuff the 23+ STXs adds is a lot more than the previous STX package. Funny enough in order to get a similar looking truck in XLT (Sport Appearance) it's gonna be $10k more than an STX. I shopped XLTs and STXs and ended up with the STX because it felt smoother than the 7.3L XLT and had pretty much every possible option I and my wife wanted. The 6.8L accelerates just as quick as the 7.3L it seems although it felt like there was noticably more torque (possibly because the transmission shifted a bit harder).
@@theingobeck4772 In February of ‘21 I ordered an STX F250 but it kept getting delayed so I got out of the order and got an XLT. The only thing I wanted on the STX you couldn’t get was the nice center console.
Just sold my 2015 6,2L gas. Found window sticker, 48k. If I remember correcetly I was at 43 OTD. It was this truck almost to the T Great reliable truck. Pulled a 26' enclosed car carrier with zero issues
I agree that this is a great package. It’s not new though for 24; I bought pretty much the exact truck in December 23 , a 23 F350 Xl STX . Thanks for reviewing this one. And extra points for showing the 6.8 some love!! I’m loving mine so far . I got $3k off sticker ; paid 59k. Has 20” wheels , tailgate step.
@@jonathantaylor6926 no some of the xlts are not and I’m not just saying this ,are not as loaded as STX package, I went to dealerships, and I saw it for myself, and for the decently loaded ones, they won 70,000+ , the STX is a great package, it’s got 360 camera, bed lighting, rear locker, backup sensors, power, sliding window and privacy glass, Also you get the appearance package with the bumpers color matched, a nice grill and nicer blacked out wheels with more aggressive tire, you get a bigger payload in the bed I’m pretty sure because it’s lighter. Comes with sync 4 an apple CarPlay… some STXs come with the generator and FX4 packages… you also get a big V-8 that the governmentand EPA can’t mandate…. the STX is the the cheat code if you’re trying to get a new truck
Nicely optioned truck. I do dislike the side steps. It would be nice if they were folding. There’s also lots of room for a supercharger on top of that 6.8
F250 XL is a great value if you do not need all the Bells And Whistles. Loving my '24 Supercab FX4 Package with the 6.8. Lots of Bang for the $ with that set up.
@12:30 Old school key in the ignition is actually safer and better than the keyless entry system where the key constantly broadcasts a signal that can be intercepted and copied!!!
I bought the 250 in '19. 6.2, XL, FX4, chrome package with 203(?) Convenience package. Listed $42 and change, bought for 39. Love the truck. The 7.3 or the 6.8 would be nice, but after 100,000 miles, pulling a 29 ft camper 25,000 miles of that, i have seldom needed more torque. Maybe in the heart of the Rockies, but seldom. The spoiler on the front looked goofy, replaced with $80 replacement from two wheel drive F250. They're about four inches shorter and look great.
Similar. I got a 19 250 XLT 4x4 6.2L with fx4, snow plow prep, crew cab for 46k. I cut the air dam down instead of buying the replacement. A little more hassle 😂. For what I tow and load in the bed I haven’t needed anything more.
@@davidtennyson4908 I am getting the same. I just got back from our first trip in the new RV and Truck. The truck is a 2024 F350 SRW HO Platinum Tremor around town I am getting the same 15ish. The truck had at that time 800 miles they say it gets a little better over 1,000. We just returned from RV trip and over that 900ish miles I got 9.6mpg with the cruise at 70-75. The RV is 42 foot that weighs 16k. I haven’t weighed at the CAT weigh station yet but plan to next trip out. I have say that there is plenty of power to do anything you want. 500hp and 1200 ft pounds of torque gets the job done. We are headed to Ruidoso, NM March 10th-18th. I can’t wait to see how it does in the mountains.
Had to subscribe after viewing just one vid. Ty for sharing. really like this lower end trim and all the work everyone put into making this vid happen.
I ordered at 2021 Chevy 3500 Duramax W/T crew cab with every option I could get it came to $59600. Then the dealer called me and GM gave me Employee Pricing and it knocked off $7000. So I got the truck for $52,600. I took the $7000 and put a 4” Cognito lift and 325/50R20’s with 20x10 Fuel Rebal 8’s. It has power everything steering wheel controls rear cameras. I don’t need heated everything and adaptive cruise and heads up display. So guys if you do your homework and go order your truck and make every selection you can get a one ton for half ton price.
Kind of weird to see this truck with the smaller screen since they standardized on the big one for all trims along with the full digital cluster on the F150 for 2024. Maybe they have some inventory left and the 2025+ will have the bigger screen and digital cluster.
Regarding the snow plow front spoiler before you remove it. Can you do a mpg mileage loop with it on and then after you remove it or cut it shorter? That would be interesting to see how much effect it has on mpg!
I do believe the transmission is a 10R100 model mated to the 6.8L. Smaller than the 10R140 mated to the 6.7L diesel and 7.3L gas engine, but bigger than the F150 transmission.
I've been considering an XL extended cab with the XL off road package and FX4 package with the 6.8, Camper pack, 430 locker rear end dual alternator/battery for $56000. The half ton manual says "slide in camper not recommended" and the price isn't that different.
I have this truck in a 23 model. Same options. The thing to consider with the 6.8 is that they pair it with a smaller transmission than the 7.3. The 7.3 gets the same transmission as the diesel but the 6.8 shares a transmission with an f150. I've towed up to 11500 with mine no issues yet but I've only got 27k miles on it. Overall I do really like the truck and the way it looks. If doing any serious off roading I would try and find a way to cover the trans cooler. Had a pretty serious ding put in mine while going down a service road.
3/4 ton truck is the minimum if RVing IMO, Love the Ford Super Duty for years, have a 99 F250 w/ 7.3 diesel, w/ 120,000miles, but seeing this video, might get me something newer
I just recently bought the same truck. The only difference is that I have the 7.3 and it's an F350. I had a 2018 GMC base 1/2 ton truck, the ride difference is night and day. The F350 actually has a better ride than my GMC had. The Ford felt and appeared to be better built. I don't really do any off road so it's mainly a pavement princess., living in the northeast at least I have the redundancy of four wheel drive if needed.
I like the XL trim but what I don't like , there are no motor options if you get the Off Road Package and you also cannot get the STX trim with the Off Road package. I do like I can get the 8ft. bed with large fuel tank and over 4k pound payload. You also can't the 4.30 axel with the short bed either only with 8ft. But for 60k a bargain in today's market. I also like the fact you can get the 2000w generator with XL package.. Me personally , I also love the key start , column shift and fold down front seat.
Don't forget that Ford wants 3900 bucks for a winch. I watch this stuff and laugh. So to the guy who buys the 3900 buck winch, you my friend, are a true man of genius.
So hopefully this 6.8 doesn't have the cylinder deactivation and the belt driven oil pump like the 5.0 because some people are asking why didn't they just put the 5.0 in there.
1/2 ton trucks are out of sight $$$ so it’s kinda hard to see this as 1/2 ton truck money. But I am picking up my ‘24 stx tomorrow 😂 7.3 Godzilla with 4.30 gears. It’s 65k because of a few extras. 20” factory wheel upgrade etc. Also why do people make a big deal out of the keyed ignition? I prefer it over the push button. But also I just don’t care. It still has remote start so 🤷♂️ I am very happy about the 360 camera too. It is a very cost-effective package in these crazy times.
similar to a custom trim from Chevy which are 55-58k....paid 68k for 23 Silverado 2500 High country last year you can get deals on trucks it just takes more work and some negotiating skills from the buyer....for a WT this would be all you need, am sure you can get a similar MSRP from any manufacturer for comparable truck if you work out of a truck bed steps are a thing of beauty!......couldnt understand not wanting them
I am looking at an identical 2023 truck. But I am seeing the towing as 14,100lbs for the 3.73 gears and 16,600 with 4.30 gears. Am I looking this up wrong?
Nice but come on Ford Offer the sattelite radio option on the lower trim packages!! You can't even get that option on the XLT. And no; streaming through your phone does not work in my area!!
I’m looking at this truck in the works to get it finished but I will say don’t like the gas cap and should have a push button start plus all trucks should come standard with bed liners also should have a slow tail gate
First off the new steps are only usefull on the short box and for people over 6 foot. If you are under six foot you need a step just to get to the step. And if you have the long bed like my sister inlaw. Who is a vet and has a full bed vet box. She needs a running board because she can't reach half of her stuff because the step is only in the front corner of the bed. Extreamly inconvenient.
I agree 100% don't need it on there just have an extended running board, and that step just makes it look like Ass, and just like you say, it's almost useless anyhow
Great review guys! I just bought this truck! Question, I’m gonna be changing out the tires to BFG All -Terrain KO2’s. I’m wanting a bigger and taller look. My wheels are 20inch,the tires on it are 275/65/r20. What size would y’all recommend for the look I’m going for? Not towing or hauling heavy loads. Just a working ranch truck. Let me know your thoughts? God bless!
The STX is still just an XL work truck with better wheels, different headlights and painted bumpers. I don't see the value anymore. You can get an XLT for the same money. And I am over the black wheels which come on the STX these days.. I had to switch back to chrome on my old F250... the black wheels used to be unique now they are factory and every other truck on the road has them.
It's not very much faster. I just test drove them both before buying an STX 6.8L a few months ago. I did feel a little more perceived torque with the 7.3L but the 6.8L seemed to do 0-60 just about the same.
@@dub123boyJust what was available. I drove an XLT with relatively few options and it was actually cheaper MSRP than the STX 6.8L we bought. The wife didn't like any trucks without the sport appearance features. After driving them both I felt like the 6.8L felt just as quick and the lighter-duty transmission was actually noticeably smoother. We're not maxing out the towing ever so it's been a great choice, so far. For the '24 model years there's actually a ton of XLT Sports on the lots here in AZ but they're $10k more than what I paid and $6k-8k more than the '24 STX models.
One of ford's biggest problems (there are many) is that they test thier trucks in Texas. It's the reason they are in the middle of a class action lawsuit over frozen door locks.
There are a lot of accessories that can plug into it. Tire inflators, USB chargers for multiple devices, Inflatable kayak/stand up paddleboard air pumps, etc.
@@TexasTruckChannelnone of the 6.8 4x4 models tow 17k according to the Ford towing spec sheet. Only 3 of the 4x2 models are rated 17k or higher. In fact, the 3.73s top out at 14.8k so all the 17k trucks are 4.30.
PFA means: "Predictive failure analysis, a technology for hard disk health monitoring, the predecessor of S.M.A.R.T. Portable Format for Analytics, a JSON-based file format for encoding data analytics, such as data mining models."

E 85 actually makes less power than 87 octane gasoline. Quite a bit less. That is why it costs less per gallon. You need more e85 to do the same thing as 87. But being able to burn ethanol means that there is some hardening of the fuel system which should make it last longer.
$60,000 for a stripped down truck is not a value! Everyone has been Hoodwinked into believing $1000 a month payment is normal! It's B.S. and I will never buy a new truck at that price, I bought a 2012 Crew Cab Z71 LT with a 6.2L Flex Fuel for $32,000 with electric seats and Onstar and Wifi! And paid the same for my 2018 Crew Cab 5.3L LT with the same set up! There is no reason the same truck I bought in 2018 is now twice as much in price.
@@TexasTruckChannel I bought an 6.8L STX (w/ basically every available option) over the other truck I was shopping which was a base 7.3L XLT with just FX4 and maybe 1-2 other cheap options. The 7.3L felt more torquey but the 6.8L felt just as quick to 60mph. The STX sticker was actually a couple thousand more than the STX I bought (but I got about $4k off of sticker in negotiation). I would have taken the XLT but the wife liked the paint match bumpers and black accents and wouldn't budge. So I was stuck with taking the STX or paying ~$10k more for an XLT w/ Sport Appearance package because of the other required packages. Very happy with the 6.8L so far and I've put half the miles on towing (~5klbs) in the Arizona mountains.
Not true. No one wants a modern emissions-diesel anymore unless they're towing heavy loads full-time. The reliability and longevity of diesel engines is no longer a thing, not to mention the high cost of the engine option.
Not sure why there is so much excitement for truck that stickers at 60k missing so many modern features. No heated seats or wheel. Single zone climate control. Keyed ignition without proximity. Non dampened tailgate.
Let's talk about it in 10 years when the same spec stickers at around 70-$75k I do understand its expensive but it's a beautiful rig it tows a shit ton it hauls a hell of a lot it's a roomy 6 seater it's got a powerhouse of an engine it's a work spec at the end of the day it doesn't need all the fancy gadgets and gizmos sadly though in this economy you do get less for more not the other way around but I'd be over the moon even with this spec honestly
Dude a few years ago if you waited for the right time of year you'd get a f250 or f350 4by4 for 36,000 EASY. Never did they sell for sticker, they aren't worth sticker. With these trucks and SUV's now they are hit and miss with quality and they know it and they are profittingbfromnmaking junk just like Chrysler Jeep has always done. They aren't car companies anymore, they are parts companies.
I understand the cast iron love but why did Ford develop a new V8 (405HP/445LB) when the 5.0 has been proven, is extremely reliable, and in the F150 puts out 400HP and 410LB of Torque? The 5.0 can easily be tuned by Ford to match the exact same numbers as the new 6.8 and as great as the new engine may be, I just don't see why the 5.0 couldn't fill that gap.
The honeycomb front grill looks great but $60K is still a boat load of money!!! Ford needs to dump the UAW and get a handle on their costs! This truck should be around $52K!!!
You can't even buy a Toyota that shifts normal. They must have a schiz programing the things or they pawned the transmission programming out to Mexico but Japan better take notice. Ford's are way better trucks than most, but the price is just not right.
I guess only the UPS guy can get a decent work/family hauler but he's already got a work truck. The pricing is SEVERELY SEVERELY OUT OF BOUNDS. They are slowly making Americans think this bologna is normal. Dumbing down of society for sure.
I still Would Not Pay That Kind Of Money for that truck , 60.000 NO WAY. That's almost half of what I paid for my house. And it's 4×4 but the ride hight is like a street truck. No thanks.

@@briancavanaugh7604 yeah I heard about that yesterday.
Stripper XLs look great
I like the XL trim but what I don't like , there are no motor options if you get the Off Road Package and you also cannot get the STX trim with the Off Road package.
Can you get one of these without a bed. I am a fan of flatbeds, especially handy when towing my Woodmizer to a job.
6.8 comes with a 10R100 10 speed transmission
Don't forget that Ford wants 3900 bucks for a winch. I watch this stuff and laugh. So to the guy who buys the 3900 buck winch, you my friend, are a true man of genius.
Excellent review fellas im lookin for one of these with the Godzilla 7.3 a figure a big and tall dude needs this being 6 foot 7 i would love it!!😊
Sounds like a perfect fit!
I like the STX Super Duty with the Power Stroke standard out put
That's definitely the best equipped diesel truck for the price.
I’m just now shopping these trucks and it’s amazing that 60k is considering a good deal. This is a nice truck but I can’t see spending more than 50.
Tires and tire pressure makes a huge difference. You cant compare ride unless the tires are same. Same with payload and towing. Depends on the tires
similar to a custom trim from Chevy which are 55-58k....paid 68k for 23 Silverado 2500 High country last year
you can get deals on trucks it just takes more work and some negotiating skills from the buyer....for a WT this would be all you need, am sure you can get a similar MSRP from any manufacturer for comparable truck
if you work out of a truck bed steps are a thing of beauty!......couldnt understand not wanting them
There's an exact copy but with the extended cab, and the 7.3L for sale by me for 52k now. Debating on taking the bait
Any opinions on the 6.8 vs the outgoign 6.2?
6.8 should be available in an F150.
They don’t get xm?
No not in anything lower than an XLT premium@@wesleydean4228
For that price point you should should get power seats.
the 2023 6.8 V8 Transmission is a 10R100
6.57 for the 6.8L. What does the Godzilla engine with same bed length do 0-60?
It's not very much faster. I just test drove them both before buying an STX 6.8L a few months ago. I did feel a little more perceived torque with the 7.3L but the 6.8L seemed to do 0-60 just about the same.
@@theingobeck4772Any reason why you went 6.8 over 7.3?
@@dub123boyJust what was available. I drove an XLT with relatively few options and it was actually cheaper MSRP than the STX 6.8L we bought. The wife didn't like any trucks without the sport appearance features. After driving them both I felt like the 6.8L felt just as quick and the lighter-duty transmission was actually noticeably smoother. We're not maxing out the towing ever so it's been a great choice, so far. For the '24 model years there's actually a ton of XLT Sports on the lots here in AZ but they're $10k more than what I paid and $6k-8k more than the '24 STX models.
my 2021 7.3 f250 cost me out door 55,656 stx rear locker 4x4 no fancy stuff
It doesn't seem like all that long ago when these trucks were $25k with 0% financing for 36 months. Guess I'm getting old.
That is one fine looking truck!!!! 👍👍👍
One of ford's biggest problems (there are many) is that they test thier trucks in Texas. It's the reason they are in the middle of a class action lawsuit over frozen door locks.
Ford does most of their testing in Michigan. Texas Truck Channel tests in Texas.
I need this truck! I've been trying to make my f150 a 3/4 ton ever since I bought it. Lol
I believe this truck has the 10r100
Yeah it does. It's not the 10R80 of the F150 like many have suggested, either. The output shaft is ~1.5x times bigger and the whole unit is longer.
Why are they still installing cigarette lighter inputs???
There are a lot of accessories that can plug into it. Tire inflators, USB chargers for multiple devices, Inflatable kayak/stand up paddleboard air pumps, etc.
I've never seen one of these at all on cleetus McFarlands channels...
Over $60k for a new truck is still way overpriced. If I decide to buy a new truck, this package is the sweet spot.
Can I buy this truck and swap the front seats for powered ones?
What size rims and tires are used?
Sorry love your content!!!!
I just seen one of theses trucks on fire siting with no one in it ya better join the ford burn club
These are 3/4 tons right?
Can it tow 17000lbs or is the combined weight allowed to be 17000lbs big difference
It can tow 17k
@@TexasTruckChannelnone of the 6.8 4x4 models tow 17k according to the Ford towing spec sheet. Only 3 of the 4x2 models are rated 17k or higher. In fact, the 3.73s top out at 14.8k so all the 17k trucks are 4.30.
PFA means: "Predictive failure analysis, a technology for hard disk health monitoring, the predecessor of S.M.A.R.T. Portable Format for Analytics, a JSON-based file format for encoding data analytics, such as data mining models."
Dude behind the camera sounds like Chris Young
not all ford gas are not e85 friendly the 7.3 cant use e85. its not the same trans as the 150.
Where did u here you’re sweet jackets? For real. What brand are they?
Not a truck person, but it’s a nice looking truck.
For gen z not millennials… with the key. I’ve never owned a push to start anything as a millennial. Gen z are the ones to never see life without a cellphone.
Fact.
@@TexasTruckChannel time is slipping away faster and faster
E 85 actually makes less power than 87 octane gasoline. Quite a bit less. That is why it costs less per gallon. You need more e85 to do the same thing as 87. But being able to burn ethanol means that there is some hardening of the fuel system which should make it last longer.
Any motor makes more hp on e85 . It takes more fueling it burns cooler than 87 and has less knock
@@anthonymoy4471 That doesn't science
Beautiful truck. But still to expensive. Should not be a dime past $45k. Great video, Thank you.
switch out lower air dam with tremor it is 85 dollars much shorter
Where did you buy it?
@@cyberneticghost47 dealership
About same HP as a 5.7 hemi
If you discard your front air dam I’ll take it!
Nissan 5.6l vs ford 6.8l just without the payload😢
Push button start should be there
It is!
6.8 has the 10R100
$60,000 for a stripped down truck is not a value! Everyone has been Hoodwinked into believing $1000 a month payment is normal! It's B.S. and I will never buy a new truck at that price, I bought a 2012 Crew Cab Z71 LT with a 6.2L Flex Fuel for $32,000 with electric seats and Onstar and Wifi! And paid the same for my 2018 Crew Cab 5.3L LT with the same set up! There is no reason the same truck I bought in 2018 is now twice as much in price.
This is EXACTLY why I still have a 20yo Toyota truck with 300,000 miles on it. Runs great and no crazy payments !!
I'm a millionaire for a reason, because I spot it ALL.
What’s the 0-60 on the 7.3 and 6.7?
The last 6.7 we tested was 7.2 to 60, but we will re test the 7.3 and 6.7 soon.
@@TexasTruckChannel wow that’s impressive for the 6.8
No kidding!
I’d rather have a 150 tremor or king ranch with the coyote and max tow.
$15k-$20k more and get near the tow or payload
A 2015 f250 platinum 6.7 has a way nicer interior than that truck and for half the price. Inflation is completely out of control.
Nobody wants a gasser. Another 4500 I went with the 3500 WT DURAMAX.
Solid choice. Mutually, not everyone wants a diesel.
Only thing id change is Id add the roof lights
10 speed transmissions suck.
I guess only the UPS guy can get a decent work/family hauler but he's already got a work truck. The pricing is SEVERELY SEVERELY OUT OF BOUNDS. They are slowly making Americans think this bologna is normal. Dumbing down of society for sure.
Do you know how much you have to make per year to realistically afford this truck? In man math not young guy math.
I still Would Not Pay That Kind Of Money for that truck , 60.000 NO WAY. That's almost half of what I paid for my house. And it's 4×4 but the ride hight is like a street truck. No thanks.
