I still game on my Original Xbox One VCR Model. I installed a 2TB Internal SSD and it runs beautifully. Games Load faster and the UI runs smooth, still tons of life left in this system. These OG Xbox One's run much quieter than the One S due to the bigger fan and heatsink. If you are still running your Original Xbox One I recommend cleaning it out and changing out the thermal paste if you have the tools to do so. SSD Upgrades are easy to install now as well. Great Video.
which all games can u run??
Can u like run Fortnite, Fifa, fallguys etc??
@@brickywood_official Yup It plays Fortnite, Fall Guys and FIFA with no problems! I'm currently playing Call of Duty MW2, Jedi Fallen Order and Halo Infinite on my OG Xbox One, still runs like a champ especially with the new SSD and Thermal Paste change.
@@HondaHatchek yeah but not being able to play new games at 60fps or 120fps is a bust
Same I still have a Xbox one original but my dad is thinking about getting the series x
I recently cleaned, pasted and installed 1TB SSD in mine XB1 and it makes a huge difference. The UI is snappy and runs cooler and quieter. I recommend the SSD upgrade to anyone that still rocks the OG XB1. The XB1S and X can be upgraded with SSD.
I've had mine since Christmas 2014. Still runs really good now. I keep the glossy black shining too by waxing it every now and then. It's super slick and very shiny Still, and runs really nicely. Such an awesome console that I feel like people didn't give enough credit for. I'm NEVER getting rid of mine.
i’ve also had mines since christmas 2014 but it’s starting to run slow on me and now i want the new series x or s so badly rn 😭
I've had mine since my birthday in early 2017 and it still holds strong.
I got mine around late 2015 and I am never gonna get rid of it, it’s a really solid machine
@kaushikananthu6425 exactly. And unlock a lot of people I know, I got a Series X recently, but I still got my Xbox One. It's super solid to me. I didn't just neglect it like most people would.

Bought one just last week for $40 with two controllers, kinetic and 6 games. My first gaming system, graphics do lag a bit but I’m enjoying it.
My mom got it for my nephew back in 2016, then he no longer plays it, now in 2023 I just found it & decided to dust it off and use it just to play Tekken Tag 2 and even Tekken 6, since they're both sadly not available on PS4 or even PS5.
I play warzone on it 60 fps
@@tankevolutions8035 oh nice, btw I’m starting to love the Xbox One, gonna get Quantum Break once I’m done with Bayonetta 3.
I bought it originally because it was cheaper and it works pretty well. Even bought a miniature fan for extra cooling so my Xbox rarely even gets very warm.
The original Xbox One runs very quiet, even when I play Red Dead Redemption 2 on it. I don't notice any difference between the Xbox One and the Xbox One S performance when not playing 4K games. Still worth buying in my opinion if you don't play 4K anyway.
Does rdr2 lag on original Xbox one?
@saadtunio709 There is somewhat more lag occasionally but very minimal compared to the S model. Maybe 3-5 frames per second difference when there is alot going on in the game. It's not enough of a difference to consider being a leap forward but the Xbox One S has just a tad more power to run bigger games.
@@saadtunio709nope not a bit
@@saadtunio709 yes.
Just snagged one at a thrift store for $60 with a powerA wired controller today!
just found mine at their store for 17$ insane and had a power A controller
That’s a steal man
The hdmi in was originally meant for TV, basically you would plug in your set top box to your Xbox and watch live TV channels though your Xbox with Oneguide live TV listing but sadly the removed live tv listing but you can still use it just you can’t use your Xbox controller to control it.
i used to use it to play my 360 through it with my friends before they got xbox ones, most of my friends didn’t upgrade until 2016 whereas i did it in 2015 for gta online
I still play my OG Xbox one. Completed the entire campaign of Red Dead II and it ran great. It's definitely still a great console to have in 2023.
I think I’m about to get one, it’s up and down compatible right?
@@ricardojamison7783 It is, a lot of original Xbox and 360 games are compatible. And most Xbox one games will also play on the Series X but I think after this year Microsoft is no longer making Xbox one games.
But I’ll still be able to download games right even after next year?
@@ricardojamison7783 Yeah you'll still be able to download Xbox one games, but after this year all new games will only be for the Series S/X.
I've had this thing since November 2017, and I got it for $600 at the time I believe (not thay expensive in my country) and had it not been for my little brother ruining my CD discs, my CD disc reader, and my controllers, 100% I would've been still playing with it till this day
I still use mine, it still gets updates and works just fine. Bought it when I first came out.
There’s nothing wrong with this console. It runs smoothly. I can get A LOT of games and go online and etc. Fortnite runs smooth. Only question is, when will it lose support? It’s just as good as the new consoles to me. The only thing different is the graphics but the graphics aren’t horrible and are actually good enough.
i mean it’ll lose support eventually i don’t wanna say soon cause idk but it is still last gen
The GPU, and CPU are at their limits sadly, as the Dual quad core clusters are Jaguar cores running at a paltry 1.85ghz, Microsoft has also managed to squeeze an absurd 200% scaling out of the Terascale GPU uArch to the point that trying to run the PC equivalent GPU the Radeon HD 7770 today with similar games is an exercise in futility in comparison. Microsoft should honestly be proud of themselves.
@@Gonjadote Well I mean they’re still supporting the 360 so…
@@S.T.A.L.K.E.R.420 no they are just making games backwards compatibility, the servers that are still on from 360 are servers they can no longer access to shutdown. why do you think games for xbox one/ps4 don’t get the same updates next gen does, also why do you think 2k has the same game( 2k xbox one edition, 2k xbox series x|s) for 2 different console? because they are slowly starting to unsupport last gen which is sad.
@@S.T.A.L.K.E.R.420No.
I kid you not I dropped a cup full of Oreos and milk into the vent of my original xbox one. It made a sizzle noise like that of putting out a campfire and it turned off. I was convinced it was done for but after letting it sit for a week I went back in hopes it would turn on, and sure enough it did ! I’m still gaming on it to this day ! I’ll admit though the only thing keeping me is the game pass but have been highly considering in picking up the new gen . I run two external SSD for games as the 1 TB is never enough now in days . Glad to see people still have love for this console , the remainder of people still on it reminds me of the 360 days when half was one the one and the other still on the 360 .
Overall it held up there with the 360 and that’s saying something as I strongly believe the 360 held the golden gaming days .
Idk y but the old consoles are just built different
@chloemotsinger2987 lol
It is same as newer ones. (More or less) New games still runs on it. It plays cheap video and audio discs. I still have 2 xbox360 that i still enjoy playing. This would be relevant in 10+ more years as well.
That was the first generation that brought a more powerful version of the system towards the end of the cycle , sure they did slimmer models but not more powerful before
I Still haven't gone current generation for gaming. I Will get a PS5 Slim estimated early next year. I have a Sony 4k TV (X800e model), a Samsung 4k Blu ray player, and a really good 7 channel surround system connected to everything; 5 consoles + 4k player.
My primary console is PS4 Pro w upgraded/Samsung 860 Evo SSD 1 TB. I have OG Xbox One 1 TB HDD, secondary and old games. I also have PS3 Slim 500 gb, PS2 slim, SNES classic modded with top 190 SNES games. I have all the top rated games for all those systems. In addition I have 3 handhelds PSP, ps Vita, Nintendo 3ds XL + some games.
But still no PS5 lol
@@gr4v_qc487 still no need for PS5, PS4 is still getting games throughout the rest of 2023.
Currently waiting for the PS5 PRO now, hopefully by end of next yr.
Currently have
PS4-154 games (still adding 15-25 EST)
Xbox 2001-2023, 47 games(still adding few)
PS3--72 games
PS2--36 games
PS1--20 games
SNES classic modded-- 190 SNES games
+old Hand held systems never used
PS5 is REALLY overrated, I've played it extensively. At some point(2024 forward) it will be needed to play the latest Big games. Forget about the graphical upgrade/ minor speed loading upgrade from a PS4 Pro/with upgraded SSD.
Still keeping my PS4 Pro + all my other consoles even after getting a PS5 Pro
got one for 60$. I had a series x but had to sell it and thankfully, got this one and im ok with it.
I’m prolly gonna do this howd it hold up
@@jackdavid3696 not bad considering the price i found it for. This one had a loose hdmi port so sometimes, the if it moves, the signal will cut off. a quick move and its back to normal. it still does everything youd want as far as gaming, streaming on twitch and watching movies and stuff like that. i think they would put stuff on top of the disc drive because sometimes it wont read the disc, sometimes it will. i just have to put it in the right angle.
I have a ps5, ps4 and ps3.
I haven't owned an Xbox since the original Xbox. Anyways searching RUclips I found the game.called state of decay 2, I looked on mercari and found the system for $52 +$17 shipping and the game was $6 and lastly a $12 wired controller.
I'm excited to find other Xbox exclusives. I love open world games, my favorite game was days gone (ps exclusive open world zombie game) I've played it probably 10x so to find another open world zombie game looks amazing.
The launch model was mint to be your media hub for tv,movies, and internet kinda like a cable box. Im looking to get one to use just for that purpose. My tv is on 24/7 and iv burnt out two firesticks this year. There's not many streaming device that kind handle a 24/7 use.
Why tf would you leave your TV on 24/7. It literally takes less than a second to turn on or off!
@@JuanGrande386 🤣 I can't sleep without noise. I know its weird but completel silence wakes me up. Its defining to me. I only turn it off when I leave my house.
I just picked one up for $110 dollars and three controllers on facebook marketplace
I decided to go with the og Xbox One because I only planned on playing RDR1 for myself and Minecraft/MCC when I have friends over
For me, it's not a choice. I've been priced out of getting a next gen console. They have not come down in price and I would need to get a 4k TV to get the most out of playing one. Series S is also not guaranteed to last and may be on its wat out, so I'd need to get a series X. With the TV, that would be over £700 Mininmum. I'm not willing to pay that and can't afford to. My xbox one cost about £299, and it's not that inferior to next gen, in my view, which has not been a huge leap forward from previous gen.
i had a series S, its way faster this xbox one is a dinosaur. the Xbox series S is like $250 New in the US some places, i had one but i got bored of it quickly, but the performance and speed it has is very impressive
I mean I still play my Xbox 360. I think it still holds up pretty well.
I agree 100%. If I didn't get a 4k TV to replace my 17 year old 1080p TV, then I wouldn't have bought a PS5. The difference between the PS4 and PS5 is not very much. Got a Series S for Halo, gave it to my brother.
The Xbox Series S is not on it's way out. And if this is in regards to that upcoming Xbox Series Refresh, that'll be an all digital console with the same power as the X and priced at $499. As long as the Series S continues to be priced as a steal, it'll have a life.
The Original Xbox One it looks great and awesome amzaing console and the best system console design ever i love that xbox one original console👍👍😃😁😁❤ when it came out since November 2013 and my first time trying that console it was around December 2013 it was beautiful and i love it👍😁❤
Just found one by the dumpster without a power cable or controller but warranty seal is intact and no cracks or bad scratches.
Wow very lucky I would have snagged that
Just this past Xmas Eve I found an Xbox One with all the cables and Battlefield in a box labelled “Free” in front of an Applebee's.
@cjaquilino Awesome!!! Just put an SSD and the little machine flies! I gave the one I found to my sibling and was so happy with the performance that I purchased a One X and put an SSD as well. Literally plays every Xbox game to date, of course the Series X games over cloud but I mean c'mon. It does what a Series X can at a fraction of the cost, and in our cases. Free!
@@sourcey6620 Awesome to hear. I can hear the click of the hard drive on mine. I'm shocked it didn't come stock with an SSD. But it's the lauch version of the Xbox One. Gonna upgrade it and turn it into an emulation machine.
@cjaquilino Heck yeah man, show that little box some love.
i just upgraded to a gaming laptop used the xbox for 6 years
That’s my thought process as of now
where i live i found a one for $100 meanwhile ps4s are like $150 minimum some still cost like $200 and the difference from $100 to $150 is big
i am still on a ps3 super slim
I still have my XBOX ONE S and love it
You should really consider putting music behind your videos! Seems more like a classroom setting
ive had one since December,4,2013 and even though it hasn't been my main console since 2021 when I got a PS5 still got my memories
Best Xbox ever love to the Xbox one original
❤
Have you played Forza Horizon 5 on this console? If so, what's your thoughts? Awesome video btw
I only want an Xbox One to play older Xbox 360 games and Minecraft Legacy Edition. Managed to get one with 13 Games for 40€
Still love and use my one. I clean the power supply every year. And my one too, Last year i put a new thermal paste on it . Totaly quiet and runs beautiful. I‘m totaly fine with the graphics. I recommend a SSD. Because the original HDD is veery slow. With an SSD it feels like a new System.!
Just got mine back as no one in the house used it. It literally has had water poured on it by my little nieces and still works perfectly fine. The fat xbox one just takes me back tbh. Using it for Fortnite since i dont want space being took on my ps5. Its amazing console still running strong
Back when DramaFever was around, I watched hundreds of hours of K-drama on this bad boy. And as a media player, I loved this thing. I'm mainly a PC gamer but this thing is great.
You forgot that this xbox one console is one of the very few that dosenr require an online connection to play games. Its trult an og machine. Pop a disk in and play. Internet or not. That was the most important thing to me. I got a ps5, and a xbox one x but i still use xbox one in the gargae for caual streaming and gaming
I game on this model of the Xbox One. Now, I have seen a few issues here and there with some games but nothing a Day One patch can't fix; other than that, as long as the game doesn't flat out refuse to run for me then it's all good.
I think that we live in a strange world. We still have technology , old , but still very good. But we get bored in short time annd we always want something new.
The controller of series x feels cheap.
As someone who hasnt had one since 2020 and just last year realized i can use my game pass from my phone or tablet (it actually works really well at least on phones only a year or two old ) i just got gifted one for free (consoles are getting stupid expensive like ...f all that electronics are supposed to be getting CHEAPER ....hopefully i can access all the digital games i owned .....
This is really helpful I'm saving up for one !
Save up for the Xbox series s
series x lol

@@_mo_aj_ Agreed
I bought one last year for $125 that came with the original box, Kinect, two controllers, and 7 games. I already have a good gaming PC, so the only reason I bought it was to play The Show and NHL as well as any last gen games that are much cheaper to buy used than on Steam. I am however currently playing Guardians of the Galaxy on it since it was $20 brand new instead of $60 on Steam. The experience is definitely not as good as a more modern Xbox One or gaming PC (framerate seems to top off at 30 FPS and the graphics are like the equivalent of low or medium settings), but at a big discount for that game, I am totally fine with that.
This was my first Xbox One model. Even though I currently own a One X and a Series X I actually still have this old VCR-like brick lying around just waiting to be hooked back up lol.
The original model is not very good at running newer titles but it's perfectly fine to run older titles and even better for backwards compatible titles. In fact, other than using video streaming apps, I would say that the best case use for this model if you have the right setup is to use it as an extra multiplayer system link machine for big local party events. This thing is perfect if you want to play multiplayer games like Crimson Skies, the og Battlefront 2, Gears of War 3, any of the 360 Halo games and even the older Call of Duty titles via LAN connection. The best part is you can still use it via system link with the older consoles together like the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 so mixing and matching these older machines will still produce a great multiplayer LAN experience.
i counted him saying “kind of” 46 times in this video
I have recently bought two, one for £4 and a second one for £4.99, first one needed a new HDD and second one has the HDD already done. Just been playing Starfield on one and then some Forza Horizon 5 and in the process of installing Retroarch on the other. Buyers should look for the 1540's which say "powers on but no display" because that's the ones with dead hard drives and a dead simple fix, very very easy to work on and even if it needs a motherboard replacement the only difficult thing is soldering the two wires in the DVD as the daughter board inside the drive is married to the mainboard but replacement used motherboards come with the daughterboard usually.
You say “kind of” too much
Your Fav word: "kinda" :) ty for wid.. could buy this beast for 60EUR now.. just for my collection
I don't care about other consoles but the XBOX ONE👌❤
Just bought a 2016 model og xbox one for 40 AUD with remote and power supply.
Yo I'm thinking about getting this fr
Just got one for 50$ from goodwill, it had a kind of black screen of death but me and my dad managed to find a program that could format the drive, then we did a offline update and now it works, sadly no controller so im stuck with my wired xbox one controller i used with my laptop, but atleast i have a controller.
does it have wifi, im really thinking of getting one

Very cool and thx for the video
Nawh fr my Xbox one got 60 fps plus he ray tracing hits really well w the graphics on Xbox one looking like new 👍
I really want to buy it because it’s a good enough gamepass machine and I have a ps5 as my primary console and I found it used for like 150 bucks
yeah it’s pretty good
Great video
Still have this console, only have gears of war 4 ,dead rising 3, and killer instinct... i have ps3,ps4,ps5 and now my xbox one still play killer instinct with my friends...
I say yes. I got mine in 2023(fuckin finally)

I also like the design. Got a white version
If you're ok with DVDs in the age of BLU-RAY, maybe you're into the Xbox One... I feel it falls into a tricky spot in the lineup.
When will this one officially lose support?
It's an issue with next gen as well. My ps5 is huge.
I still have the original VCR model with kinect works great there is only 2 games I know of that you have to upgrade to play
I've had a PS4 for a long time but never an XB1 I bought one at a yard sale in my neighborhood for 30 dollars with a controller and all the hook ups
Just add a SSD and some fresh thermal paste and it will keep ticking.
U sure?
I'm pretty sure that the SSD is tied to the motherboard, if you replace the SSD it will not work.
There is software you can load to the hard drive to make it work again.
I got the master chief edition first gen and its coo. Gets the job done. Getting a series x this weekend and the this one is going in the bedroom for streaming apps .
Planning to get this
I also planning
Me too
I think you guys should get one S instead of this console. Because it is better but it is your choice
@@gçşövalye I gotta agree. I would rather get a one s or a one x because they both have 4k abilities and the regular model does not.
For that price its a good choice. You even have the option to play current games via the cloud if you have GP Ultimate
The only way I’m buying a next gen is when GTA 6 comes out
Shut up I love the design
I like how he talks quiet like he's expecting a lion to pounce on a zebra or a golfing announcer
You're being too positive about it.
so much like this controller👍
I am still playing gta v on it
I never had the fat model but I still have the Xbox One S. But I recently upgraded to the Xbox Series X because the One S struggles with newer games and in the future there won't be no new games for it anymore.
Cool a +9 minute video about the style of the Xbox One.
you watched it tho lmfao......................................
What's sad for me is that this video popped up because I was wondering why it's so hard to find one😢
i am selling one in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I dont do delivery but its at a good price :D
I still have a Xbox 1 and 360
can't believe this is known as old now, still use mine daily.
It looks 3 or 4 years old, doesn't look or seem as old as it is
I just want to play halo infinite only, would you guys recommend picking one up for cheap?
No, just save up a little more and get the series S. The S is cheaper than X and will run very smooth and quicker than Xbox ONE. If you had to make the Xbox one fast you would need to buy an SSD, which in that case you'd spend more.
Xbox one X (Project Scorpio) is the best. Bought one for $100. 4K and a much needed cpu/gpu upgrade. Much better than this vcr version.
I’m getting one with a wireless controller
If you’re having to buy this you shouldn’t play video games and get a better job j stead
Wow Xbox One👍 I bought this for 18k Npr Umm 139$ in 2019
İ buy used og xbox one last month and im happy with it i play ac orgins the division 2 far cry 6 and graphics are realy greate not feel like old gen i felt this on xbox 360

With cloud gaming I think its going to last quite a long time.
So uh.. I'm tryna figure out how to insert the disc... I've been using a Xbox 360 this whole time and am kinda lost
What if you don't have net can I still play
That one still a good console 😁
How does this work as a blue ray player? Is it good?
I use it as a blu-ray played and I like it
Yes
where is sticker "hdmi, do not move console first removing any disc inside" ?
My brother in law give me his 2013 day one xbox one on christmas 2019. I have a lot of fun with it. I played Halo 5 (i found it average but way too hard at legendary) then I played Mass Effect Andromeda a very bad game but again maybe at hard difficulty it is more challenging but I found it crashing bugged and very dull. Then I played Deus Ex Mandkind Divided I like it more than the two mentionned but still bugged and hard. Then I found Life is Strange and I loved it. Then I tried Life is Strange True Colors and I hated it. Oxenfree have some bugs good story but too broken. I have other games to try like The Witcher 3 Dreamfalls Chapters, Firewatch, The Wolf Among us, Assassin's Creed Origin, Bioshock collection (hope it is not as buggy as some say) Metal Gear Solid 5, a lot of games remaining i dont have the time to play them all.
Definitely!!! Still on Xbox S…but im mainly on PS4🥹 xbox i be on Skate3 since i was a kid😭 now yuh boi 25🤣…..its good to keep it you never know how much it could worth ect or even if you want wana sell it

I'm getting a one s
I got me the same Xbox I found this video on that Xbox it's also 9 yrs old
I still have my old one I just don't use it no more it's collecting dust on my dresser
Microsoft trying to leave xbox one support, is just like trying to leave general hummels in the battlefield "The Rock 1996"
