B58 CATLESS DOWN INSTALL - 440i xdrive

Just a FYI, I have the 2017 440i xDrive Gran Coupe (F36) and looks exactly like yours, I took the cat down the bottom without removing the tray that you mentioned. It takes a little twisting but its doable, there's just enough room to clear both sensors without removing the protection plate or plastic pieces underneath if you ever have to do it again.

Not too bad but you do smell it slightly when idling
