Watching this show from 1988 is like watching a science fiction show. This is just 35 years ago and there is no connection to the nightmare we are living now.
You can sense their obliviousness. People had for the most part a very optimistic and positive outlook toward the future. I remember thinking it was going to be like Star Trek. It’s becoming more like Soylent green.
In college around 87, I had a gap between classes one semester. I’d go back to my dorm, put love connection on and take a nap. Watching it now I get panic flashbacks that I’m sleeping through my psych class.😂
Chuck was quite a looker, back in the day. I stumbled over this channel today and it was just the thing to pick me up, because turkey day was the start of my annual holiday blues season.
No wonder Randy is divorced. 😂 He complained about his date being real negative and he had nothing but negative thoughts the entire date. 😂 I love this show!
I was 18 when this aired. I’ll soon be 54 and I have 5 grandkids! This show had America in a chokehold! I used to watch it with my friends. My how the time flies.
The first week of June, 1988, when this was aired, was the first week my now wife and I started dating. After 33 years of marriage, I can say that I did have a Love Connection that same week!
Were contestants told to be rude to each other for entertainment value? I guess the show would be kind of boring if everyone was always on their best behavior.
@@Ritzy87 I'll post this under you name as it won't appear directly under the OP, thank you. rig222: You might be able get information about the shows episodes by googling "IMDb" data site "The Love Connection - Episode List." This is quite funny to look back on. Randy, at that time was definitely not a catch. The conversation among the two was a refreshing moment of laughter.
