As a little girl I was bewitched and entranced by this very grown-up show hoping my eight-year-old self could possibly be as old and mature enough to go on an exciting date one day and I had a huge crush on Chuck Woolery oh my goodness he was so so so handsome!!!! I thought he was well spoken, and I would’ve wanted to go on a date with him !!!
I lived in Southern California (Newport Beach) during the 80's and knew several people who went on the Love Connection....so many of these are aspiring actors...

It's 2024. I'm 40 and I look younger than every single person on this show. But I still remember bits and pieces of the 80s, and I'd go back if I could.
Because everyone now has stunted growth. Look like kids in their 30s. Grew up on processed unhealthy foods. No outdoor playing. Look back at every generation genX back. All looked like adults. Lived longer. Millenials and Gen z won't live long. Arteries clogged by 30s,40s. No exercise as kids. Type 2 diabetes etc. alcohol use, vaping. The most unhealthy generations ever. All look like kids. Not even tall like men used to be.
I'm glad you download some old school stuff because one I missed the good old days it's been a few years since you've downloaded you hope you got some more shows like game shows 80s court room shows and so on

It's bc of the mustache and hair, and hair styles , makeup. I was young in the 80s. Today's 20 yr Olds want to look late 30s, botox, plastic surgery, lip implants. Look up 20 yr old celebrities look 35. I'm 56, but people tell me I look 40s. I only have light botox on forehead and around my eyes. Never doing plastic surgery.. I feel blessed bc my mom has good genes
I think the reason we looked older is due to several reasons. The number one reason is we baked in the sun, not feeling the need for sunscreen. We also didn't have the same makeup that is available now. Also, the styles were different.
Young people also matured faster. Most had jobs by 23 and supported themselves because it was possible to do that with or without a degree. They also worked in industries with older adults and had to follow a formal dress code that was usually written by older adults.

Mature hairstyles were also encouraged. Ponytails were considered too casual and unprofessional for the corporate environment in the eighties and early nineties. Today’s corporate environment is much more casual. It’s not uncommon to see people in jeans, boots and a casual t shirt or sweater. Tattoos are extremely common as are face piercings and unconventional hair colors which are generally associated with youth.

The 80s was a really romantic time!! Everyone looked like going to a wedding a prom or they were a bride with the puffy sleeves tutus tulle skirts ruffles. It was a crazy time. I was a kid and it was outrageous.!!! Huge bows scrunchies and this was just to go to work or to go out anywhere It was not all neon like some media portrays so much pastels !!! lol
