I agree! Kinda looked like the singer from Firehouse, the hair anyway. Good looking guy.
This was really cute. I’ve been binge watching love connection episodes, and they had some real weirdos, but these two seemed perfectly nice and normal. I wonder if they continued to date.
Hey Jessica - thanks so much for the nice comment. I think I was nice, but not so sure about normal lol . We never did see each other after the show. It was a nice date but much of what I said was written for entertainment - sounds mean but I was young and trying to become a rock star or actor or whatever. I have been married for 27 years and have two amazing grown kids. I'm also most recently a children's book author so if you have any kids, grandkids nieces or nephew's please check out my book, "My City View" amzn.to/3mhh7hn
I have recently been binge watching as well!
@@stephentoback Aw, how nice! I will check out your book for sure.
So the shows were somewhat scripted? That’s interesting. I always wondered if that was the case.
@@rachelcombs9858 I can’t get enough! I never watch tv anymore because I just feel like tv isn’t as good as it was in the 80’s and 90’s. I really miss those times.
@@jessicapace4235 at least my segment was highly scripted so I have to think others were as well. The producers need to "edit" the conversations to make sure it's interesting and makes for good TV. I'm pretty sure it's the same with all "reality" TV these days.
So cute ...they seem so much more mature at 25 than nowadays.
I seem like I'm 25 when I'm 55 though so... :)
Stephen really did make a name for himself in music.
I'm on the list of people that tried at least :)
Brings back memories. Stephen seems like a catch. She was really into him. Lol. Looks like it was a fun date. I love these old clips. Chuck was the best.
Thank you! :) Chuck was such a nice guy. Really had fun doing that show. The date was well... don't believe everything you see on TV LOL
I'd forgotten about this show. Growing up in the valley was such a blast. Things were light fun with very little seriousness - nothing like today's world.
I got there in 1988 and lived there for 20 years. I miss it even though it's nothing like it was.
I grew up watching this show as a kid in the valley reseda / northridge it was a different world back then. I remember the early 90s had this special vibe to it
Stephen Tobak Ha you're so cool! It was a pleasure watching you and thanks for the upload! Muuaah!!
Michael Polese, considering I've never met him, I am taking your opinion into consideration. "You can't judge a book by its cover.." And so forth . Thanks for your response, though.
Julie girl you are my spirit animal! I too enjoy Disneyland and bar hopping 🤣❤️
I used to have those same fringe jeans and a fringe leather purse to match!🤣🤣
LOL - me too but I called mine a guitar pick case :p
This show was my childhood Stephen, btw nice leather jacket.
It was my adulthood lol thanks!!
Rock on dude! Love me some rock and roll. Pretty neat to see a rocker on Love Connection.
Thanks man! Represent! \m/
Man like I remember getting boots with tassels in like 1984 I was so happy
I had a white leather jacket with tassels lol
Under all of that '90s hair and denim is a really good dude! Glad to hear that you've continued with your passion for music.
Thanks Mike!
Everyone has that "what was I thinking moment". Yours were the boots.
Really, not the stone washed jeans? Or tucking my pants IN my boots? Or the silver feather earring? Dude... ton of them in this clip lololol
@@stephentoback I miss the 80s and early 90s 😭😭😭😭😭
lol Damn bro. I had no idea you were ever on Love Connection. Damn, 1992. Them's were the days. Had some hella good times back then lol. Looks like you had a hella good time too \m/
Def made the most of those times. Holding on to the 80s as long as I can lol
Their hair and outfits matched! So cute!
we were quite the pair that's for sure lol
His hair is amazing! I used to have a type... musician. I've been married to my bass guitarist for 24 years.

My wife has been married to her bass player for 27 years! :) Not sure if there are any young people in your life, but if there are, please check out the children's book I wrote, "My City View" - it's all about using your imagination to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!! amzn.to/3mhh7hn

Me too!
Awww I miss the 80’s and 90’s
Me too - well, the 80s anyway.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was the (now 😞) late great CJ Snare. WOW, u look exactly like him. Looks like u 2 definitely hit it off 🙂. Hope u guys went on more dates! I am still in shock on CJ's passing..I loved Firehouse from the first time I heard "Don't Treat Me Bad", I was 12 yrs. old in 1991. Huge loss.
If you look through the comments, a lot of people mention the resemblance. So sad to lose him so young. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
@@stephentoback Ha! I usually don't read comments, but omg tons of compliments on how u look like CJ..sorry to sound too cliche' 😉.
That was Great! Started my day off with a huge smile!! Hope all is well with You ❤️
Thanks! That comment gave me a huge smile so thank you! :)
@@stephentoback I see Your last video was 4 months ago. Awesome sound on that double guitar. Are You still playing? I Hope 😎
The 90's had so much hair. The perms. The koosh ball bangs. It's like you just walked off the set of Singles. This was a fun trip in the way-back machine.
🙂 Only maybe the 1st 2 years of the decade. This is overflow hair from the 80’s. Everything changed when Nirvana and grunge hit the music scene circa 92/3. They were the death of the metal-hair bands. 😂
things sure was a lot more peaceful and simple then...I miss that...whole world has gone crazy these days....
I agree
The "Love Connection ", The Hair, Acid Wash Blue Jeans and Rock Bands was the best of times ..Our 80's! Glad to see them back to the Future all in one shot again, here on.. RUclips 🎬. "Rock On" 🎵 🎶🎸👖 ☺️💖💕
They were great times and I'm so happy my Mom captured this moment on the VCR to preserve for ever. Thanks for the comment!
Me Totally!! Hahaha I just realized something, (man I can be such an airhead at times 😆) THIS was you! Lol I missed that connection. But, I just re-watched it and also missed the "Cats and Dogs" comment too..have to say I think there's truth to that! 😅Brilliant! And Kudo's to you Mom you have for recording this memory indeed! Thanks for sharing with us 80's children.
"Yeah Chuck, can we wrap this up by 3pm, I've got an audition with Megadeth at 4."
It was Metallica, but yeah. LMAO
Ha Haa, good one! and a show with Firehouse at 7
And if that doesn’t work out, Slayer might be recruiting.
I joked with my kids that I owned the same outfit that she was wearing.
As I went to click like on the video I read the description and realized it was you on the show - lol! That's fabulous - we need a "Where are they now" series about people that were on the show!
Have a great time in life!!
Thanks so much! Always nice to meet another 80s survivor lol - I've had an amazing life, thank you!! Married 27 years to a beautiful rocker chick (not that one) and two grown kids - Keep Rockin!!
@@stephentoback And you said you would never get married.😉

Such a great show. He was an incredibly nice, quick witted and just funny guy. Was a great experience!
@@stephentoback - Thanks a Bunch !👍🤗🌟😊🌟🎵
Ha!ha!ha! ah man, this is pretty cool! I haven;t seen this show in YEARS now .I remember when the whole "grunge" thing took over . Drove me nuts! All my favorite bands over shadowed . I HATED that "scene" for a long long time but now i'm cool . Still into all my favorite hard rock and metal from way back . I don't mind Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and a few others but i've also mellowed! ha!ha! Anyhow, Sounds like you've had a good life man . Cheers! Keep on rocking!
Thanks Brother - I'm right there with you!! \m/
I enjoyed this and reading the comments. I was 30 then. Boy, life goes fast. Long hair is back. Chuck was so fun and happy. My other comment disappeared.
Thanks for commenting. Chuck was amazing. Had the best gig and he knew it. Don’t know what happened to your other comment.
This dude looks like the twin of the Lead Singer of Firehouse , C.J. Snare in 1992 actually haha 🙈🙉🙊🤔🙄😳😉
Best years ever!! I’d been 14 then and I would had died to gone with him.. his hair was amazing!
They were great years. I would have been arrested if we did go out so... LOL Thanks!
thanks for uploading your video brother!!!! they need to show this in high school classes these days!!! teach the boys how to be a gentleman!!!! have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything was real, no internet so we all were spontaneous, less measured, more innocent, less obsessed w image

Gayle Hoebermann....passed away in 2020.
Stephen Toback is Media Architect and Senior Producer for Academic Media Production at Duke University.
So sorry to hear about Gayle. It's a little creepy about me :)
I'll just add that given your name, you should have also known that I was at the University of Miami during your heyday.
@@stephentoback You probably knew my partner Tubbs!
@@stephentoback I love watching these old shows from my childhood and seeing where the people are now. It'd be neat to hear your story on how you got on the show and experiences of/from it!
Back when real love could just happen. He like to be him and she liked to be her. They liked being together. It was simple, it was sweet and it was sensible to say the least!😌
Those were the days my friend
For a second I thought it was the lead singer of Firehouse (CJ Snare).
Good episode! Id have picked her as well! Hope you're still making music. A hobby i wish i never gave up!
Thanks man. I am.. Check out my channel. I just did a cover of Children of the Sea from Sabbath.
I thought this show was fascinating, funny and always entertaining.
It was definitely a moment in time. I'm glad I was a small part of it.
I used to love this show back in the day! When I was giving birth to my son, it was on the T.V. in my hospital room. Even though I was in excruciating pain, I asked my husband to please turn up the volume! Couldn't miss a second of it! Lol 😉😊😁

The aqua net is strong with this one.
You are correct. I had to stay 10 ft away from open flames at all times LOL
@@stephentoback only a true 80s person would get that reference LOL I’m convinced to this day that most of the smog over LA and New York is leftover aqua net from the 80s lol

Wow, what happened with you all afterwards? I was in my late 20s and single in the late80s and loved this show. Now an old dude - married 30 years. Thanks for making my morning more cheery
I guess we ended up in the same place. I to am an old dude married 27 years :) I never saw her again after the show. Even back then reality TV wasn't real. We did go on a date that went something like what we said on the show but there was no connection. :(

He looks almost exactly like CJ Snare of the band Firehouse did in the early 90s! I love the 80s rock era, it must've been fun to be a young adult back then. What happened after the show, did it gain you a lot of popularity?
It was a great time to be a musician for sure. Lots of fun.
