The Dating Game (March 17th, 1972) - Butch Patrick picks a date!! (w/HILARIOUS blooper!!)

  • In this special Saint Patrick's Day daytime episode of The Dating Game, game one features Butch Patrick of The Munsters looking to find a date. It also features a HILARIOUS blooper that surprisingly hasn't been featured in as many blooper specials as you would have expected!! You'll never have a more galaxy-brained way of greeting people ever again.
Also yes, the blooper by itself has been featured before on my channel, but this upload is of the full show, and for special reason, the daughter of one of the bachelorettes in game number one found the blooper video so I decided to share the entire thing so she can see how her Mom did!! Hope you both enjoy!!

This clearly shows how much clothes and hairstyles had changed in the years between how Butch looked on "The Munsters" and how he looked in 1972. And no, I don't mean the extreme Eddie Munster make-up and costumes in the 1960s, but how boys and young men went from short hair to very long hair. And his hair here looks the same as mine did at the same time.

When I was a kid, one of the families I hung with, their mother, divorced, was a bar cocktail waitress and trying to get her kids into film. She had her girl friend over and it was butch Patrick’s mother. They made a big deal out of butch being at their house. So we all went over to meet him, a snob is what he was. His mother was questionable too, we all figured out how he got the part. 😂

Hairstyles and clothes were so much better than they were in the 80s. (Except for the one chick with strange high flip in her hair.) Weird though, because in the 80s, they looked 20 years older, but in the 70s, they looked at least 10 years younger… especially that girl with the ribbon in her hair. She looks like she’s 12!

I saw this show in the 1970s or 1980s. It was funny.
Butch had good questions unlike others I've seen.
The girl asked good questions too. The guys were a bit reserved. She received the better prize.

I bought a house in 1986 that a couple had been living in for 10 or 12 years. Everything in the house was straight out of the mid 70s. The kitchen wallpaper was hilarious, because it looked exactly like the giant flower backdrop on the dating game. Same colors too. LOL

Wow a '72 Caprice to tour LA in, at least it had a big backseat. I was 11 when this first broadcast and probably watched this after getting home from school on the south side of Indy, but even at 11, probably thought all 4 girls were pretty hot. Those were the days.
