That's why it's so stupid you have to parallel park for a drivers test. 90% of people just don't do it and it's not like it's required to drive on the road. I don't care if I have to park 10 miles from where I havs to go, I'd never parallel park willingly.

There's a counter to that. You turn into the parking space and drive out back into the road a tiny bit. That way that person behind knows you gonna park.

Watching the video makes it look easy, but in reality, it's difficult to do. It just adds to the stress when I try practicing on the road and there are cars behind me waiting😢
This is what happens to me where I live I'm trying my best to get I to this space and the cars behind me like what is she doing then I'm just sticking out into the road and then I get stressed and give up😢, I might go to a quiet road on Xmas day and practice 😂 where I don't have the pressure of people watching or waiting for me from behind

Go find a road in the middle of nowhere where there is no traffic. And practice! Over and over!

If you want to practice first stress free get some side walk chalk and find a large empty parking lot in an abandoned mall or a store that's closed. Draw some lines as guides

Amazing and simple to remember
I passed my test this year, and when I did the parallel parking with my instructor on the left I did it spot on , sometimes where I live I have to park on the right and I just can't seem to get the hang of it I end up at a weird angle to far away from the kerb then I try and turn the wheel and go forward and I'm just stuck in this angle not getting any closer to the kerb 😬
rvs till you reach the distance tht you need frm the kerb then turn bck the wheel at tht point

I find adding an extra step helpful because I always end up to far from the curb, after you turn to the right and reverse straighten wheels and reverse straight back than all the way to the left

In my country, parallel park is tested at the government station before you go to the road. No cars in front or behind. Only boxes drawn on the ground. Now how do I use this advice

I've tried it many times and for the reference of the left corner of the car with the sideview mirror if I do it like the video I hit the curb when I backup. But if I turn the wheel earlier, when the left corner of the car is about the middle of my side windshield it works. What I'm doing wrong?

The easiest way is to back up until your car starts slowly push on the front bumper of the car behind you and then wiggle your way in using the car behind yours bumper as indication

I got my license during Covid so the instructor wasn’t in the car with me, but if he was, I would’ve definitely failed the parallel parking test. I’m still learning how to parallel park years later.

I always go head first when trying to parallel park. Oops
...or buy a car made in the 1920s that had a "fifth wheel" in the back that lowered and scooted the back into the space, leaving inches in front and behind your car, and that being all the space you need. Things have gotten stupider across the board in the last hundred years. All we did right is computers and we don't use them for anything but a faster delivery system for gossip and pornography when we aren't propagandizing each other with them.

this would only work in the us. in most of western europe parking spots are tight. and would never be as large as shown in this video.

It’s sad I can’t see my side mirrors because those darn video labels are covering the screen too much! 😡 Sadly youtube shorts does not yet have a feature that clears the screen of unnecessary labels. Too bad your video woulda otherwise been helpful were it not for those stupid labels. I’m hoping they come up with an improvement perhaps in future iOS updates.

Why would that matter?
The animation is very inaccurate. The wheels are free sliding like its on ice, not following the natural rotation of the car. I understand the desire to tween everything when animating but you can just use keyframe and move the rotation pivot to the intersection of the where the normal of the front tires intersect with the normal of the rear tires
yet I get a maximum of 3 steps or I fail the test :I
