Atlanta, Georgia - Atlanta Police released three lengthy bodycam videos Tuesday evening that show the moments before and after one of the officers shot a person. On Monday, September 21, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Atlanta Police Department to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation. Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 7:25 p.m., a 911 call was placed about a domestic disturbance near 510 Cassanova Street SE, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. When officers arrived, they observed Dearian Bell, 28, of Atlanta, and his wife inside a vehicle. At some point, Bell retrieved a firearm from the vehicle and exited the vehicle. For approximately 12 minutes, Bell held the firearm and walked around the area ignoring verbal commands to put the gun down. At one point, Bell advanced toward an APD officer. At that time, the APD officer discharged her firearm, striking Bell. Officers rendered aid to Bell at the scene. Bell was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No officers were injured during the incident.

Founded in 1865, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for Black Americans. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and Black Republican leaders. Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal-the reestablishment of white supremacy-fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s. After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, African Americans and organized labor. This why we were label minorities because of certain left liberals in power. Now present day the socialist Democratic Party is master of deception and monopoly.

That officer experienced emotional release once the situation was under control. She kept her composure when it was most important and let it go after the threat was neutralized. An excellent example of outstanding law enforcement. It was a tough situation, one in which a positive outcome is nearly impossible. Mad respect for her.
That would be fight or flight kickin in
Fight or flight means acting aggressively or fleeing, exactly as the term suggests. The officer did neither. She held firm and did her job.@@amielawhorn3537
She didn't have to shoot him. He was just walking across the yard , away from her. Their job is to protect the citizens. Even against themselves. Because they are not doing what cops ask. Why did she feel the need to kill him? They have non-lethal weapons. They should use them. Now, the man is fighting for his life. Because this woman wanted to see how it felt to kill a man. She found out. Listen to her sob. Because in her heart, she knew what she did was wrong.

What breaks my heart is how the officer broke down immediately. There is no way she wanted to shoot another human being. However, she had shown amazing restraint up until that point (and even then). This man was aggressive, violent, armed, and-most importantly-unpredictable. He was not obeying the simple command to drop the gun. If he had, the threat would have gone away and the officers would have holstered their own firearms. This police officer needs to forgive herself as she did nothing wrong. @Binnaz Husain that’s one of those things that the media and some people exaggerate. It’s not common, and if white supremacy is a problem than that means acknowledging that black supremacy happens just as much and racist people of all color need to be stopped. There is always going to be someone who is prejudice towards a skin color, its impossible to only have good people on the earth. I agree that white supremacy is bad, but nowadays people aren’t even acknowledging that black people can be racist and only point out that some white people are racist. And I’m just going to say this right now, and I’m white but in middle school I was the quiet kid, and I have heard black people make racist statements and insults all the time, even more then the white people I hear. He was thinking that if he survived he was gonna get rich like his hero Lowbrain James.
She expressed herself like most officers, they don't enjoy shooting people or feelings threatened. People are so stupid, live a good life and relax
She never wanted to do it but he forced her.
If anything her reaction was an absolute outlier. Almost no cops react like this. I feel terrible for her. She must be a strong woman or she would not have been in that situation in the first place, but might require a different job, for her own person health and happiness.
She’s a real killer now got her first body 💪🏽
This is a perfect example, if you don't comply bad things. It was so simple, follow the policeman orders.
Staged for camera?
She was not messin around... And then she had a whole psychotic break in minutes... Can't imagine what she felt
ALRIGHT IM GETTING MY NOOSE OUT
…..okay I’m putting my nOOSE AWAY….
…..ALRIFHT IM BRINGING THE NOOSE BACK OUT LOL
Wow, the fact that the lady cop didn't want to shoot that man but she had to, then she cried as she was upset is heart wrenching and showed compassion. 😢
Uhmm was here in new york be dead long time ago
Actually, she saved everyone's life that was there. Kudos to her.
If she didn’t want to shoot him then why did she pull the trigger, could just walk away and quit her job. Cried because she couldn’t hold it together, very common with women. Gun wasn’t even loaded.
@@REPR100what a pos comment... guess you're a pos dem that can't imagine the toll it takes on someone whether it's male or female. I carry legally and even then I ask myself daily what it'd be like if I had to do something like she did
😢😢😢 I haven't watched it yet I just came to the comments and your words made me cry 😢 now I know I have to watch it.
It’s truly sad how long these officer’s been begging and pleading with him to put the damn Gun down. And now he wants to say damn they shot me. “Like Duh” 🙄😳🤨
Not only that, but the fact that at the beginning of the video the man began to say, "you got my arm and I'm black" as if his race was going to stop the police from doing their jobs! Just listen and nothing would happen.
Michael Woodard
Yes I heard when he tried to pull the black card. Black ain’t got nothing to do with why you acting stupid. People always trying to make ish out as a color thing when it’s no need to do that ish. He was truly wrong.
What really appalls me was him going “what you gonna do?!” I don’t understand the thought process.
I thought she was awsome
@@shannonchase9948
Who the officer?
I take great comfort in that officer crying, it shows the gravity of the situation. This is something she’s going to have to carry for the rest of her life. I really feel for her, she didn’t want to take a life she was put into that situation by the actions of another.
Protect and serve ❤
“I’m gonna get killed today”. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
yeah it's called suicide by cop
kilt daid
Women cops = LOL
Tony Ludwig - He did die. Read the description.
If this doesn't show just how human officers are, I don't know what does. She absolutely made the right call and with one shot took him down. He forced her to and by her reaction, it is clear she didn't want to. All those officers deserve credit for their patience and professionalism. They tried over and over to talk him down from a bad choice.
@PANCHITO y CHUY please elaborate.
@@jaime5279 they let him out of their immediate reach and walk around brandish a firearm I think pointing it at them rummage through the glove box in the car he posed a risk to both the officers and the people living nearby they should have tased him in the beginning and dragged him out of the car with the guns at the ready he could have survived, but it was his call what happened they just acted on his decision
@@jaime5279 She is told she may have to shoot perps in her line of work and are drilled to shoot perp targets..did she think this didn't apply to her.
PANCHITO y CHUY your pathetic if you really think that’s true
@PANCHITO y CHUY lol relax, I only wanted to hear your take on it and not an opinion. Never said I was against you. Thankful someone else explained it better so umm...thanks?
😢 she made me cry she wasnt ready and also didnt want to hurt anyone very sad 😢
The wife's so calm. He must've been a monster to her. Damn near seem like she called em out for this.
As a retired law enforcement officer, I commend the female officer. She did what she had to do and still showed human emotion. LOVE HER, SHE IS A HERO!
What about when she left the black officer all by himself at the door of the Mazda 5 minutes in. 4:15 actually
Idk, I feel bad she broke down crying. Maybe shouldnt be in a job that causes her to do so.
Some black lives just don't matter....period
@@carsonhunt4642That is called stress, she held it together through out her engagement with the suspect. The breakdown after is completely normal. I remember use of force training being nerve racking as hell and stressful as fuck and that's not even the real thing. The people that break down during training usually don't make the cut, but I am curious if this made or broke her.
Ilove you my dear friend god bless you and your family baby ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hearing the female officer cry brought tears to my eyes. You did what you had to, thank you for your service.
Facts, I feel for her, especially for women I’m sure this isn’t easy
sHE WILL PISS LESS
They the strictest ones but they be crying some like this why become a cop shooting bad people is part of it
Yea that hit me too bro
Разве с стороны мужщины была угроза на жизнь женщине полицейкой. Ей бугалтером работать, не доверяйте ей оружие.
I hate that you had to go through that. Yall had too much patience, and he kept pushing his luck
One shot then he complied. She told him a dozen times to put it down
I feel like those cops put that entire neighborhood in danger by letting him walk around like that. In the end it doesn’t matter what your race is. If you play dumb games you win dumb prizes.
100% He was contained and they had him surrounded but they allowed it to escalate.
They definantly gave him leeway. More so then some cops would. Anybody not there have no place to say one way or another imo. Cops are afforded the opportunity to make those decisions, typically in fractions of seconds. Pray for this officer she needs support yall and if you didnt feel her sorrow your not human.
@@johnnyv1034 12 Minutes of a clearly unstable suspect wielding a deadly weapon isn't a fraction of a second though. They had 12 minutes. It's poor police work and could of ended with a shootout in the neighborhood. The only thing these officers need are better training and discipline for endangering every single household there. You don't allow somebody to go free when they have a deadly weapon in hand and a clear mindset of disobeying the law. The next person that is allowed to go free with a gun might decide to fire and it will be one of these officers or a member of the public who are in the wrong place at the wrong time that pay the price and that is why this is wrong. The police had the opportunity to deal with a deadly threat immediately but chose not to which in turn escalated it profoundly.
No they would have put themselves and others in danger if they tried chasing him he fired at random. They handled this situation the best way the could.
@@jerrybuckle1381 ur dumb. I mean good comment but no this is no officers fault. The one at fault is the idiot that got shot.
These Officers really seem like some genuine people. Mad props
Although I'm not surprised, the female officer was extremely unprofessional and juvenile .
@@vickiegveg Lmao, you'd hate to see the military.
@@gullyactual1898 oh?
@@vickiegveg the fuck are you talking about? She was fine, and her heart is huge, you can hear the pain in her voice when she shoots him.
@@vickiegveg Well Virginia, I´m not surprised at your coment, people like you make harder that police officer don´t have to shoot, because you make these guy the victim, they end believing they are the victims and act irrationaly. Didn´t you hear him saying "you are black and you are pulling me? This video shows is not a matter of color, is a matter of right or wrong, and when you think you are always the victim then you stop knowing the difference between right or wrong. I´m latino and never would blame the police for doing their job.
I cried almost every time I lost a patient as an ER nurse that is if I had time to cry. This officer was the closest to the perp and he did raise his gun so she straight up did a bang up job! I was rewarded for being the best on the job and still cry. Get over yourself if you think that letting the tears lose after the threat is over makes her weak . That makes her a better officer than most.
Bravery can be difficult to uphold at times! Love from California!
That really made me cry when she broke down like that and the other cop consoled her. So much tension and fear for 10+ minutes all came to a head in a split second. I've seen videos where cops have panic attacks or nearly faint or get angry after having to shoot someone, it doesn't mean they're not cut out for the job. Good people aren't built to kill people and feel nothing about it.
Huh your right there’s still some good people in the profession
Adrenaline is a crazy thing. When it's time to fight emotions take a back seat. When the fight is over and the adrenaline fads emotion tends to set in and people handle that in different ways. For her she seemed both grateful her and no one else was hurt but at the same time still concerned and sad for the guy she shot.
Indeed, once the adrenaline goes down, anyone could have a nervous breakdown after such events! People seem to forget that police officer are also human beings, not robots! I suddenly got dust in my eyes when she started crying... it was truly heart breaking!
She did an exceptional job IMO
she got it together fairly well i think, she could have spun downwards easily. that other cop immediately noticing and coming over must have helped ALOT.
My heart just broke for the Officer, people don't realize what they go through when forced into this position by the stupidity of others.
Lets, be real. If those were all white cops, every one of them would've used that black man for taget practice... she shot to bring him down, not to kill him.
It's crazy because she was just having a good day it seems. singing along with the music as she walks to the scene.
I feel bad for both women..the one who has to live that her gun was stolen and used at officers & the other that used hers to shoot ..
Some are not realizing this hit diff for her being all that goes on today when situations like this in the hands of others don't last a portion of how long this did ...so the emotional strike she has is probably do to the fact this guy looks to her as a loved one , Son ,brother ,uncle ,Nephew, in Law or which ever and the fact even if it's not Police doing the shooting it's the community against one another and most are usually of their own so I think it's a thing of it hitting close to home for her and clearly the others ...notice no body cams were turned off accidentally as they usually say ...it's not shaded Grey the level of patience here being different and it's not much that we see vids like this with tru community involvement and taking time to deescalate...people are quick to comment off emotion and have every right to if that's what it brings one to feel ...but it does take a different mindset of analyzing to see the facts of diffrence in certain policing scenes. I'm more than sure this group doesn't clock in to go around wanting to shoot anyone from the level of patience they had but clearly this hit home for her it's not shaded Grey
She chose this job looks like when made a stupid decision aswell 😐 idk how she passed she dont have the mental capacity for this 🤷♀️
"Aaah! You shot me!" - 😂
Yet another video where a female cop cannot keep her composer. She needs fired/relieved of her duty asap. Not for shooting him, but for losing it afterwards. Pathetic!
I’m a USMC veteran , I know the emotion she just went through. As a Marine you bury it. But it doesn’t go away. Her reaction is exactly how you feel and what you wish you could do. That moment will change her forever. It angers me that this full grown child just took this woman’s joy.

How true. Been there. Being in a gun post in a prison where I had less lethal and lethal arms and CN gas rounds and grenades, its a serious responsibility. Thing is less lethal can become lethal if it needs to be........
Amen!
If it’s justified, you should feel no remorse. When I was 23, a man tried to car-jack me and shot at me twice and missed I shot and killed him. I feel no remorse or regret.
listn closely, she calls him by his first name a couple times, i think she went through more you could imagine.
i assume she shot a family friend or someone she knew back from highschool etc..
Why do these "working mothers ,continue to let these fools in their homes?
He seemed genuinely surprised when she shot him lol.
some officers dont have the mentality to shoot someone, she scared asfk, is always painful if you kill someone or hurt someone for normal people
He did the shock pikachu face

In combination with an extreme adrenaline dump.
this is not how a cop should handle this guy they should have stopped him before he got off the car
Can't imagine why she wants to leave this reputable prize of a man..
Dude ran, the cops let him go without pursuing him at all, and he came back. The word “choice” really needs to be prominent in this story.
I dont even think they had anything to charge him with lol
@@evanstrain5808 Read the description dude. They had a call for domestic violence and he was brandishing a weapon

“Walkin down this damn hill” if that’s not me doing my job but complaining the whole time. Lmao.
